Not in all scenarios...it would make sense for the store owner to have gone through the process of getting a gun license and a gun to protect his store but if you have a criminal record, and most robbers have one, you can't unless you obtain it illegally. And in most thefts/robberies, when a gun is pulled there's usually a standoff or they'll run away...most criminals are cowards after all. =p

the robbers would get guns regardless of the law. even in america most gun crimes are caused by illegally obtained firearms. the only thing that saved this store owners life was the robbers pussied out to avoid a murder charge. this is a classic example of why firearms should be legal.
