This cartoon is cute but also sad. It does seem to accurately depict what's happened in the last century. If the video would have gone on for another 30 seconds, there would be no more menorahs and no more Pesach seders and most, if not all, of the next generation would be completely intermarried and completely alien to the lifestyle portrayed at the beginning.
I’m not very religious (to say the least). But I’m so proud of my heritage, the strength, perseverance & courage of my forebearers, and what the Jewish people have contributed to society through the many years.
Maybe this is why this wonderful (and historical) video literally brought tears to my eyes!
Great. Except for one tiny but GLARING historical mistake -- especially since this was made with Canada Council $. The parents of those kids going to Talmud Torah and running around with hockey sticks were NOT reading The Forward. In fact they were reading די קענעדער אַדלער / Keneder Adler (Canadian Eagle) whose publisher, Hirsch Wolofsky was the man who created the United Talmud Torah. Just thought I'd stick my patriotic mouth in there.
