Antivirus software in general doesn't really do much.

Keep Windows up to date... keep a router between you and the internet set to only allow in ports that you want (or are outbound requested)... don't click on anything stupid... keep a strong login password... and that's pretty much all viruses.

Darkfall has been in production for a good 4 years now.

For atleast 2 of those years, only about 6 people were working on it. Chances are it wont be too good, dispite the good ideas the game has.

But, with me saying that, i am still going to give the game a go.

Not once did i say i disliked the game. I did however admit, that it will be a pretty bad game, in the terms that they would have been using outdated software.

Unless Aventurine SA has the money to constantly update servers for maintenance and patches, it will most likely fail.

DF has 30 plus devs and outgrew 6 dev years ago. 30 developers is more than enough to launch. It's about the same amount EVE Online had when it launched and EVE is considered one of the most successful niche mmorpgs in the industry.

How are they using "outdated software"? They have provided no public knowledge whatsoever on what software, programming language ect they are using -their game engine is ahead of it's time. And they are well funded.

i said they would have been using outdated software back in 2002-2004 when they went through designing the game and testing the first beta. That's nearly 5 years ago. meaning the engine would have been easily outdated.

Also i said, for 2 of the 4 years it was in development it only had 6 people working on it. Darkfall was announced in 2001. by 2003 it has merged into a larger development team.
