  • @207moquett

You don't need to pay an agent to represent you. Once they accept you, they look for auditions for you and if you're chosen they get a certain percentage of what you earn, usually about 15%. Walk away if someone wants you to pay them to represent you. There are a lot of scam artists who will pressure you into paying for representation and photos. Get headshots from a known professional headshot photographer.

  • Looks don't matter........ they need ugly people and beautiful people, it depends on the role. I've seen hidious people play before in movies, and thats just for the role

  • @heartofmyocean actually looks matter most of the time. how come 95% of the actors have good faces like mark walbergh, channing tatum, jhonny depp , chris evans and more.

  • @mrpartygangster Steve. Buscemi. If you don't know who he is, Google him and tell me he's good looking.

  • do i have to go to acting lessons first or can u just audition with out acting classes

  • @awsomecutegirl1: You could audition without acting classes, but you still need an agent to get you something.

  • just go to Entertainment Seekers . com

  • Whatever

  • How can I become a Johnny Depp?

  • @thefutureisdeath Johnny Depp cannot be you. And he's just being himself. Jeanne d'Arc knows her future is certain death. And yet she was just doing what she feels right.

  • To be honest with you all, there is no univeristy or college in the world that will prepare you for Hollywood. You either have to have the looks, or the enthusiasm whether you want to be a serious actor or a funny one. Whatever, do not waste your time or money going to 'acting school' or college to major in the film industry because it's pointless. YOu have to be born with the talent or have the passion to chase at auditions and casting calls.

  • @Dank95 apparently you've experienced this the hard way, you from Cali?

  • @thegoodfellow41: lol. I actually find that to be true really. I was born and raised in Cali, but hell knows why I cam here to Kentucky for college just to save my parents a few thousand dollars. Now I have a burning ambition to become an actor, but there is nothing around here, but these scam agencies that assure you that you can be one if you shell out a few thousand dollars.

I am betting you have to have the looks because acting is all about selling yourself. Who wants to look at an ugly?

  • @arviagent13 maybe "ugly" will be the new trend in the next generation. According to my calculations, you need an Agent which consist of having money and the attributes of a Brad Pitt. If I were to make into the acting business despite me not having much experience, Im sure I would start off in some Romeo and Juliet gig needless to say that isnt my cup of tea

  • @thegoodfellow41: Well I hate to contradict myself here because there was that one movie that needed an ugly actor " The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly".

  • any big acting colleges or universities in England you know of?

  • @Ackkracck yes I do, your point is very clear, I'm not going to let my disability or anything else keep me from chasing my dreams.

  • @Ackkracck I have a walking disability, and I'm a beginning actor, anything is possible

  • Asian bridals here **busizz4me.info**

  • i wish i could be one but its only a dream !!!

  • Great advice!

  • Can do kids do this?

  • @TheLa09dude yeah

  • what do you mean by ''extra work'' ?????? please let me know does any1 know?

  • @FreakinMarlon That means to be an extra in a movie. The people in the background of movie scenes that make the movie look realistic.

  • I am 16 years old. I wanna get into acting. I don't have any experience.

    Does anyone have any advice?

  • @sirchristian12 do some high school productions, or something. if there arent any, find a local theatre or group to act in plays. its brilliant to 1. see if you enjoy acting and 2. improve your acting skills. youve got to start somewhere.

  • @sirchristian12

everybody starts somewhere! it may sound intimidating to hear that most professional actors have been acting since....birth, but ive heard of Broadway actors that didnt start until they where in college!

join theater and do some plays. im also a newbie and i just joined theater 1 but i really enjoy it so far

  • Good information. My granddaughter Hannah has been on stage in the Boston area since she was 4 years old. She has attended acting conferences and everyone is impressed. I think her acting skills show though in her new music video "Absu Road" here on YouTube. She has her sights set on Broadway and I would appreciate any advice you can provide to help her get there.

  • I was hoping this would be more tips on after you have am agent and are going back to audition for the casting directors which you previously auditioned for. (which I am doing today)

  • Hello my name is Solimar Dasilva im going to be moving to Orlando. After watching all your video on "Tips for Working Actors" i was wondering if you can teach or give me anymore tips of how i can get going in my acting career in Orlando. Thank you

  • anybody in ireland want to give me some acting experience?

    :)

    im 14 btw..

  • @NiamhFaceYes I'm Irish and I do a bit of acting when I have the time. I haven't gone to acting college yet but I plan to after I get my degree. I keep an eye on the forums at "Crooked House" and get most of my auditions from there. You should check it out. Student films are a great way to get experience and to find out if you really love it or not.

  • @rorkimaru you haven't a clue how helpful that is! Seriously thanks a million!

im going to start an acting course this week so it should be good :)

  • @NiamhFaceYes

    im 13 :)

  • anybody in irelland want to give me some acting experience?

    :)

    im 14 btw..

  • What kind of "extra work" does he mean? He mentions it in a lot of videos but he never really explains it. Some know?

  • Thank you. I'm saving money for classes.

  • Nice clip!

  • Anybody have any videos of thesmselves acting? like monologues, auditions, theater performances etc?

If you do join "How's My Acting" (free by the way) the link is in my channel, or you can just "Google" it - it's also a social network.

  • Acting is a natural life skill. If you like imitating other people or imagining what it would be like to be someone else and acting it out, you're an actor. And it pays a realistic wage.

  • i wanna take acting classes with you :) haha, i mean, you look so friendly , i feel like i can learn many things from you xD ^^

    but unfortunately i can't ....:|

anyway, thanks for the tips ^^

  • seriously what does he mean by student film?

  • any sort of university film program will have students making short films.

  • Great series of videos!!! Love it. We just started our own Channel about our acting journey in Los Angeles's Acting world plus other interview with industry folks, actors, and acting services; check it out :D ~Summer

  • well i want to act in whatever i can but i dont kno any acting schools

  • thank u

  • but wat if u want to be on a specific show

  • I got my SAG card doing extra work. Now I can only except SAG extra jobs which are scarce, per movie, per commercial. SAG jobs are extrmely hard to get. Acting is fun. Do lots of stage work. You'll be beeter prepared when your given sides for a movie or TV show, that constantly gets changed.

  • if you cant take an acting class, do you think it would be the same to like, join church shows ? && thank you for posting this video up. goodness, i want to be a actress so bad. thank you :)

  • experienced actor here... any kind of show is great experience, the more professional the show the better of course, ie. some community theaters are great. what ever you do take it seriously (have fun), study hard for the part (have fun), try not to get too discouraged but KEEP TRYING and... will you know, have fun with it.

  • professional actors do not say Yo
