  • Can anyone do a vid on how to do this!!!! It's the baddest shit ever!!!!! Please don't wanna ruin my NES. I wanna do it right!

  • ill just get a wii with a broken dvd and remove the wiis internal slotload dvd altogether and connect a hdd to the wiis usb and try to mount it inside the nes case, since i like the look of wiiflow and usbloaderGX,then again it might be a problen since i think only1 usbport can be used with homebrew apps,so if want a hdd and a dvd connected via usb i may need use a hub,if that even possible

  • ok i think i know what you mean,so would it be a good idea to cut 2 trianle shaped peices of plasti and glue them inside the lid ,one on each side of the drawer ,so that it pushes it evenly from buth sides instead of just having 1 in the middle, not sure where u mounted your off to one side or in the middle bu i think one on each side might give make it open easier and more evenly,if im picturing what it look like in my head right, also the sundriver doesnt work woth loaders so im scraping that

  • @bulletproof2353 on mine i just put one in, but yes, i think two, putting one on each side would work best.

  • so is hard to get the nes door to open and close when the dvd drawer slides in and out?how did you get it to do that?where csan i find a diagram, cause i see alot of these dvd player nes mods on YT so theremust be some plans out there somewhere,

  • @bulletproof2353 Real simple. on the inside of the door i glued a triangular piece of plastic so instead of the drawer sliding and then hitting the door, it slid and hit the angle of the triangle plastic and pushed the door cleanly out of the way.

  • with a softmodded wii though, there are 2 programs i think dvdx and another media player or 2 .maybe one of those homebrew apps can play a dvd movie from a dvd drive connected via the wiis usb port, instead of just from the wiis slotload dvd drive, which i wont have, since i will be buying a wii with a broken dvd,and a sundriver chip which replaces the wiis dvd with a 2.5hdd,i just love the way the drawer slides out and the nes door open and closes,i seen wiis inside a nes but w/slotload drives

  • i want to do this but put a wii inside ,but without the slot load drive,i like the way the nes opens when the dvd drawer slides out, thats the coolest part,so i was thinking of getting a wii with a broken dvd off ebay and putting a sundriver mod chip in it,with a 1tb 2.5hdd,then softmodding the wii, then connecting a pc dvd rom drive via the wiis usp port inside the nes case,& have it so it has the same dvd drawer setup as this 1,dont know if i can play a dvd movie with a usb dvd drive,w/softmod

  • awesome wish i had seen this vid before i threw my nes out damn props bro

  • Nice work on placing it inside the casing.

It doesn't take much to put a DVD player inside an NES and carve out some holes for A/V Out.

    Fuck.

  • coolest mod ever!

  • Why are people so dumb I mean if its bigger than the NES then obviously it wont fit in the NES, Besides moding you consoles for crap there unintnded for is the dumbest shit, seriously why ruin a good console? I'm not a hater just givin my honest opinon that all.

  • looks like u mad a dvd player with a NES shell

  • estoy impresionado ¡¡

  • Hey bro! Rock on thats sweet! Do you have plans for that? I have one but I want the controller to do that - cant figure it out!

  • Even though I've seen this done like 50 times it's still hella boss! Bro I can't see how people don't get that it is an actual dvd player.

  • some of the newer sony dvd players a hell of small and you could just slide it in there!

  • I know but people still think this kind of thing is fake.

  • so its a fake

  • Its simple some1 had a wire hidden at the back connected 2 to the tv and had the real dvd player hidden on the side of the vid and had 2 of the same dvds, they had some1 else press play at the same time as the nes controller and yea!!!

  • I am always facinated by people that think this is so hard. Once again, all i did was go to a store like walmart, bought a cheap small dvd player, ripped out the guts of the nintendo, and put in the dvd player. All you have to do for the wired controller is connect the wires from the controller button up to the buttons on teh DVD player. anyone with a simple knowledge of electronics and willing to rip apart a dvd player and a nintendo can do this.

  • I'm thinking about doing this, but I always wonder how you get the door to open

  • I cut a triangle piece of plastic and put it on the inside of the nintendo door. That way when the DVD door pushes forward, it hits an angle and slides the door up and out of the way. Pay attention to your DVD player tray to make sure that having the Nintendo door slide across the top won't hit or hinder the DVD Tray.

  • @faroth serisouly. dumb ignorant to quick to judge. this isn't some magic show.

what dvd brand / model # did u use? i wanted to do this but hav it fully functional. like s-video outputs in the back of the nes, optical laser 5.1 channel connection, normal 3 rca, power.

    did u do n e wire'n work?

  • @faroth Hey. Do you think you can do an XBOX 360 inside an NES?

  • @IvoryGecko1993 Not sure. I've never taken apart an Xbox before. Main problem would be if they have a one piece "mother board" which i think they do. That would limit the size of a box you could use, and they try to make the boxes as small as possible already. Xbox is 12" by 10" and an NES is 10" by 8" so not looking likely.

  • @faroth Oh well. Nice Video, and have you tried making the NES controller wireless, and program the same features on the Remote to the controller?

  • the circuit boards and wires would be too much to fit into that gray box. If only there was a much slimmer version.

  • I'm just waiting for someone to put the guts of a PS2 in a Nintendo for the lulz.

  • that was exactly what i was thinking before reading your comment

  • The problem would be the controller... I imagine switching a NES and a master system, now that would be awesome!

  • dont mess with the old stuff

  • can anyone ever make a how to video of this?

  • how u wire the controler?

  • Pretty awesome dude. This stacks up with with the Nintoaster and other awesome things. Good job.

  • pretty nice mate^^

  • Then dude you are amazing because that is awesome and I now want one. xD

  • xD For all you know he could be holding the actual remote out of view. That is what popped into my head when I read Turducken's comment because how they got that to work is beyond me as well.

  • Why does everyone think this is so hard? Yes, I put a small DVD player in the game. Yes I drilled a hole in the front and put the sensor for the remote that came with it there so you could use the remote. And YES I took apart the controller, cut the chip out, soldered the buttons directly to the wires, then on the SNS I took the existing wires that come off the controller, cut them, and wired them onto the Buttons that the front face of the DVD player had. It really isn't that hard.

  • If only we all were as rich and smart as you are...

  • You're a dumbass.

Not everyone is a rich snob who can afford everything they see.

Old school is the shit. Always was the shit. Always will be the shit. Better than this new crap today. So much more originality. And more durability.

Today it's all about graphics. Not gameplay. So take your next-gen cell processor high definition graphics and shove it.

  • CAAAA-CHING. you hit that one on the money in my opinion... old school is way better. i'm a nintendo fan but i don't like the wii =P

  • I never thought I would find myself actually liking the Wii, but oh well^^

  • The nes into a dvd player is simple, but how you got the controller to work is beyond me. That dont make sense.

  • Very very very sweet

  • lol your a badman! show me how you did that... i need that in my life!

  • They called them NES tapes but,NES DVDs? That's awesome!

  • ware did you get all the stuff from to do this and how did you know how to do it

  • All you need is a small cheap DVD player, an old nintendo, and some electronics knowledge and no fear of tearing both apart and putting them together.

I have another DVD and nintendo, I may make a how to video this winter.

    -j-

  • I'll be looking forward to that if you do it!

  • And the Nintendo gamepad is used for its remote, too!

  • lol that just takes some cable mods and that you make your Nes into a PC.

  • how'd you get the controller to work too?

that's a far out difficult mod i'd love to learn.

kudos, and i absolutely LOVE Hackers.

  • You have to hook the button cables from the nes controller to the button cables from the dvd player.

  • i love that movie and nice mod!

  • The controller is puzzlin' me too.. How did you get that to work?

  • wow thats really cool just i dont how the controllor (sorry if i spelt controllor rong)

how it make make the input for the dvd open otamatacly to the NES

  • ok so i made one but a littel blue and white thin cable snapped off the DVD player and now it wont "read disc" but im trying to put it back on...ive never worked witha dremmel tool so much in my life lol

  • LMFAO retro as hell. Easy mod but a really really cool one. how did u get the nes controller to work as a remote that woulb be the tricky part along with getting the where the disk comes out all shimmed up to come out correctly. Theres alot more to it then you think ladies. how about somone else try to pull this off. its alot harder then it looks... Whover made this you guys rock.. fuck all the haters!!!

  • Well Thanks. It did take some thinking. The lid is a little easier than you may think. I just glued in a triangle piece so the DVD drawer would slide against it and push it up. Took quite a few tries to find just the right shape though.

The controller is tricky. There is a micro chip to remove so things are hard wired. Then i had to figure out what wire went were, and then solder wires onto the DVD player buttons that lead to the plug in port.

I may make a video showing the inside for ideas.

  • hell yea creative as hell!!

  • fake like my life

  • well, i am sorry your life is so terrible but really, why does everyone think it is so hard to put a DVD player in a nintendo? Step 1) go buy a small $25 DVD player. Step 2) rip apart a nintendo and remove everything. Step 3) rip apart the DVD player and put all the insides in the nintendo. Step 4) look online for wiring diagrams to solder together wires from teh controller to control the DVD, and tada, its done.

  • niice.

  • very cool! how'd you managae it? is there a site or tutorial vid i can look at to try to make one myself?

    welldone on a cool mod!

  • NO site yet.

It is complicated to do, and would be a little different with each different DVD player purchased so i didn't think of having a how to video, but i have gotten so many requests that I may make a second one, or at least make a video showing the insides of the one I made.

    -j-

  • that would be cool. just like walkthrough on how you've managed it yourself. People like myself could follow it as a rough template of what needs to be done, applying and modifying it for the hardware we use :-) Still loving the mod!! lol I've got three old NES so.

  • it's a compliment

  • nice video.

  • not bad, man

i wish that DVD player was real

    except an Super Nintendo Version

    that looked outdated, man

    no offense...

  • WTF???

  • Its called 'retro'. The coolness comes from it being a 1985 console.

  • Exactly!

    -j-

  • lol you a genuis man that fah

  • sexual

  • at the beginning u sounded like a mix of tucker and caboose from red vs. blue

  • *Laughs* well, regardless of how you meant that, I'll take it as a compliment.

    -j-

  • thats cool

  • Gay! Wired controller!

    jk, really cool.

  • *laughs* It seems like people are most surprised that I got the controller to work. If you're going to go 80's nostalgic, you need a wired controller =]

  • Except if you play with the Atari wireless controller ;)

  • ok thats cool

  • o no he did not

  • I can very easily explain how he did this.

1st, all he did was remove the mother board of the NES making the system just a hollow shell, he then placed a small DVD player inside.

2nd, noticed how long it took him to press play? It's because he had a slim DVD remoted taped to the back of the NES controller, he had to press play and A on both controllers simotainliously.

  • well, it of course is a dvd player stripped apart and put into a hollow NES. That is the point. Although i set it up to work with a remote, i also wired the controller into the play buttons on the original DVD. It takes time because small dvd players are kind of crappy dvd players. what you said would work too, but it just so happens to be not how i did it.

    -j-

  • also the ram is 2 rubbish for a film

  • way cool!~

  • Very awesome, I am curious on how you did it.

  • Haha Hackers. How appropriate for this video. And When the Hell is some one gonna make a schematic for this mod?

  • i love the movie, good job

  • hackers the film is shit hot and good job
