  • Am I the only one completly horrorified by his "diet". Bones can splitter and cause obstructions or internal bleeding not to mention contact your vet first about a peraproved diet dont just go Oh, a guy on the internet told me to feed my dog a "diet" and stop treating my dog for heart worms properly. Well, I bid all your pets a lovely painless fair well.

  • Thank you, Dan. I appreciate it!

  • Hi, my name is Jackie and I have four cocker spaniels. How do I switch to a raw diet, and where do I get the food? Do I buy the meat from the grocer? Also, How much do you feed them? Thank you, Jackie

  • @bonnie532 Hi Jackie, Four! Lovely sensitive & affectionate dogs.

Wa too much to be able to explain here, please make the investment and get my e-book from healthydogforlife (dot) com. It has ALL the answers you need for your dogs. And yes, make friends with your local butcher for most of your meat on the bone choices (and some nice free stuff too-see book).

    Hope that helps.

  • My dog has heartworms and has been on heartguard which is supposed to help. I have added alot of raw meat and bone to his diet. Is there any hope of him ever getting off of his medicine. And i would like to say my dogs teeth were brown and i brushed them and scraped with my fingernail and it would not come off. Since, i added him raw meat and bone his teeth are white and tarter free.

  • @MsBuggywuggy

Hi, How long has he had it? How severe are the symptoms? Any early signs include a cough, especially on exercise and early exhaustion upon exercise. Doxycycline & Heartguard in combo are supposed to work but to be honest I dont know enough to give you a formal opinion.

Glad to hear the raw food diet is working so well, particularly on the teeth, something I mention a lot for good reason. BTW if your feeding this way don't mix diets, keep it 100% raw.

  • @danscott888 alt4animals(dot)com/heartworm.htm Check this out, it may help you to control the worms get off the heartguard and balance the immune system of your dog and keep him stable through life.

My take is to not use meds ever, they are just too toxic. There are always natural remedies that work very well without the toxins and cost. Then feed 100% quality raw food diet and the dog is then protected from health complaints which are 90% diet related.

    Hope that helps.

  • @danscott888 He's still active and not really coughing but he does tire easily. I am trying to go completely raw. it's just expensive. Can you help me with proper amounts i have a large yellow lab, how much raw meat and bone should he be eating in one day? I don't want him feeling hungry. thanks so much for what you do. I rescued a mixed breed and had him for 15 yrs. i was always told never give them raw meat and bone. His coat & teeth were lacking and he never felt as good as my dogs do now.

  • does this mean i can get rid of my dogs worms by changing his diet to raw meat?altho i dont think hell eat it .i once gave him a raw bone ,and he took one sniff and looked away, even tho usually he eats evrything in site but looks dead skinny, even tho hes a bull terrier.ive had him wormed by a vet twice to no avail.im confused

  • @toppertruthio If the worming was recently then worms arn't the problem. A raw food diet by contrast to canned & kibble controls worm populations in the gut to normal balanced levels. Your dogs diet is the culprit. He is simply not getting the required nutrients to sustain a healthy balanced physique.

Dont worry if he refuses food, just skip a day & then see how he likes a new diet of raw meat on the bone, some liver & a small amount of vegetable matter. I have a Bull Terrier too

  • @danscott888 ok thanks for your answer dan,ill give it a go,and see how I get on.The worming was only a month ago and he hadtwo tablets, one taken two weeks after the other, but like i say,he seems to be very very thin so ill work at this diet.....thanks

  • @toppertruthio No worries, he needs to be built up on a raw food diet. It will work wonders for him in many ways. My dog is a slim build too, took after his mum as his dad was big, but he is in great shape and well defined on meaty bones, raw green tripe and minced meat waste from the butcher plus scraps etc.

  • @danscott888 ok just to update you hes been on the new diet for3 days now,im trying him on raw beef mince ,and raw chicken mince,im also adding bakers complete, and feeding him twice a day.ive got to say hes looking a bit better already.for the last few years all ive fed him is 1 large can of winalot per day in one meal so i think your right.im going to ask my butcher about the mince waste and will add some of this too.ill update youin 2 weeks to let you know if hes improved. Thanks

  • @toppertruthio Excellent start: a few pointers.

One large feed per day only.

NO mixer (throw that Bakers crap in the trash) It will cause problems!

Get some meaty bones too, for the teeth and calsium balance. ie half chicken frame. Butcher will have all sorts of goodies going to waste. (make him your friend).

Find raw green frozen tripe, sold somewhere online.

Watch your dog transform into the picture of health and vitality-voila.

  • Thank You !!! I have been saying tis very thing ... How did dogs & cats survive way before Humans medicines and propaganda ! Because of the Natural knowing of their Nature ... Amazing the disaster created due to this Human delusional thinking of Imbalance . People have now taken what they do to Humans and are projecting this mentality ... I so Appreciate You & simple common Sense :) that & blessed New Year ...

  • @Maiyaee Hi, thank you for your candid and thoughtful comment... so true!

Yes, simple common sense using natural dog food and dog health problems by enlarge vanish!

  • His ok this is common for him ...it sounds bad . But the vet just tells me to not feed him bones he does this everytime he eats a bone but the next day his fine ... it's weird ...

  • But right now as of today his ok

  • Im sorry for bothering you again, but yesterday my brother ate chicken and threw the bones in the trash can. My dog who is 8 years old chiwuawua mixed ate the bones this morning when I was in school he vomited blood and his stomach is hard...

P.s. he usually gets ill when he eats chicken bones that's y we never feed him, but yesterday he took them out of the trash

  • @xFalcon93x Cooked and hardened chicken bones can be a real problem because they can puncture the stomach lining or more so the bowel lining. Raw bones are fine as they are easily melted down by the stomach acids but raw bones do not digest well hence the problem of bowel puncture.

Your dog will need a vet check up, especially as blood is coming up and the bones have yet to reach the intestines where further complications may occur.

Basically, get him seen & pray for the next 24 hrs.

  • Thank u ..

  • She has all her shouts .. the bone was cooked in "mole" its a Hispanic food I don't know if u have heard of it and she chewed it...I believe they were pork ribs ...the past 2 months she eats her food "royal canin" we also feed her some dog cookie treats but not that often, however she eats human food too my parents always give her a little bit of what they eat for ex] beans, beef, hamburger fries, etc ...(thank you for answering back & for ur time)

  • @xFalcon93x Thanks for the details, difficult to say here. I presume she'd tried the Mole sauce before and as there's usually lots of ingredients in it, again hard to guess if anything in the sauce affected her. The commercial dog food is not somthing I ever recommend as I only advocate a raw food diet for dogs (no cooking of the meat on the bone).

This may have come about through a build up of causes that include bad diet, shots, surgery, dehydration and then a tipping point incident...

  • [read below first] In the end mistakes happen and we learn and grow from them. If you get another dog in the future, get in touch with me and we will secure a health regime that can ensure the best long term outcome for you and your dog. My condolences, this too shall pass.

  • By the way is it possible for a dog to get abdominal infection or uterine infection after a spay surgery because we spayed her like a month (she was 6 years old never had babies )

  • @xFalcon93x Yes a dog can get an infection after surgery, either at the point of incision or internal uterine infection. Unfortunately now, you would need an autopsy to find out the issue.

There may have been some blockage and or colon/bowel wall puncture that caused the bleeding and an infaction build up like this can mean blocked foul waste unable to pass.

Your two main concerns are the surgery and the bloody stool as possible links to her death. An autopsy is needed to be sure now.

  • Yes when she did poo she did blood and poo mixed together, but the worst of all is that when she did poo on the sofa it smelled really bad like if it was rotten a strong smell

  • @xFalcon93x Give me a breakdown of her diet over the last 2 months. BTW just how did you prepare that pork bone, which part of the bone was it and did your dog just eat the flesh or the bone as well?

Also, what was her shots routine? Any illnesses?

Will get back to you tomorrow.

  • Please response...plz

  • I have a question my 6 year old chiwuawua just died today at 1 am , but I don't know y she died we spayed her 1 month ago and yesterday she ate a pork bone it was well cook last night she looked great she jumped played however today she woke up vomiting and she did poo on my sofa I took her to the vet for a check up and they said her temp was 92 and she was in deep hydration ...but is it possible for a dog to die that fast I think it was an infection or worms

  • @xFalcon93x Very, very sorry to hear of your loss. So difficult to tell how this happened without case history. Normal temp. is 101 to 102 so that was low and deep hydration over time affects dogs in a way that you would have noticed a change for the worse before now. Too many variables to be definite on this. Yes infection is one possibility... but so fast!

Was there blood in her poo? Cooking bones is a no-no...always raw (soft). It would not be worms.

Let me know if I can help further.

  • HI dan, can my dog have worms if it gets skinny fast?

  • @69mermer1 Hi, yes it can. Has the diet changed much recently, is your dog eating as normal? If you susspect worms then go easy and treat holistically with tincture of walnut. It's natural and very effective (use it myself). The vet prescribed stuff is toxic to animals period.

You simply put some drops in your dogs food several times a day over a couple of weeks and it kills all stages. The best place I found is kerstinskraeuter(dot)com (parasite cleanse) best price on the net & ship worldwide.

  • Hi Dan, my dog has had minor diareah and has thrown up once. Is it safe to assume worms? Of so what deworming method do you advise.

  • @TheTankSizzle Hi, that's not much to go on as bad diet can have the same effect. You could check for adult worms in what comes out both ends. However a periodic de-worming is a good thing and I always use tincture of green walnut, clove & wormwood. Brilliant natural cure, completely safe and comes ready mixed in a little bottle. Just add drops each day to food. I never use pharmaceueutical drugs ever!

  • Than why you can get worms from raw meat in the summer cause flies put eggs in there

  • @Thefighterspider Hi, good question and the answer is that raw meat and bones cleared for human consumption rarely carry any worms cysts and freezing helps to dimminish this further. Plus it pays to worm your dog every once in a while to play safe.

Dont worry about flies and eggs/maggots, they just become food and are not related to worms.

  • so uhh when you mean raw. you mean like steak and shit?

  • @infernorock11 Hi, Yes steak if you like (with the bone in) but definitely not shit.

  • @deppressed1 If all the dogs in the world ate raw dog food the veterinary waiting rooms would be 90% empty and the average age for dogs would rise dramatically from the current 12.5 years to around the 17 to 19 mark!

  • @deppressed1 Always raw. It's the enzymes, flavinoids, over 36 proteins etc left in their natural state that really boost a dogs immune system (its defence system). Remember, dogs have evolved over millions of years on raw food, their systems work optimally on it while 21st century human food waste in cans and packets is dead nutritionless expensive filler they just get by on. Eventually dogs get illness symptoms from commercial dog food and go downhill to an early death from there.

  • @deppressed1 Hi, raw meat on the bone, some organ meat and a little vegetable matter are the essential elements of a natural canine diet. Worms in the body are natural, worms in (great numbers) in the body are not natural and brought about by an un-balanced system from bad commercial dog food diets un-natuarl to the canine system which only works efficiently and synogistically on a whole-food/raw food diet... period.

  • you area life saver!! I switched my dog to raw food diet, and his warms are now gone!!! thank you!!!

  • @KRSchannel Hi, that's fantastic I'm very happy for you and your dog-he deserves it. Another dog saved and once again proving just how effective a natural raw food diet is at healing among many other things-worms. This diet is all about self healing because that's what this diet does, saving a fortune at the vet and getting your dog into great shape.

  • So my dogs will not have worm problems with Raw diet?

  • Hi again, all dogs have worms. They have been a natural part of dogs bodies for millions of years (ours too!). A raw food diet will keep the body in balance, the immune system strong and worms in check, which means no worm problems.

  • @Agelesslegend23 Correct.
