  • Very revealing! I feel richer for seeing it, and it challenges me as a photographer to think deeper about my subject before releasing the shutter! Thank you...

  • Thank you for posting this entire documentary... one of my favorites and one of my inspirations as a photographer. Richard Avedon - there will never be another.

  • Wow...thank you so much for posting this documentary. I was inspired, uplifted and sullen all through this piece. He was such a remarkable man. He walked through the light and darkside of his craft. If I can take one thing from all this, connect with your subjects and find their soul.

  • Great documentary. What an interesting, contradicting, brilliant person.

  • thanks so much for posting this! I first saw his work when I was about 12 or 13 but never knew his story, a fantastic insight into this master and the people behind his truly brilliant photos.

  • What a delight and treasure was Richard Avedon. So inspiring to see him open up like this. Thanks for posting!

  • i find the scene at 6:21 so powerful and descriptive of his personality. it seems like hes going one way, then he sharply turns and walks another way. all the while, looking down at his feet. thus, he didnt turn because something in the distance caught his eye. he turned 'cus he didnt like where his feet were going : )

  • You save my night. Thank you so much.

  • Thank you so much for this!!

Till now I only knew him through his photographs...It was inspiring to see him talk about all that he had to about his work, photographs, people he shot etc. . .

  • I am in such a state of awe and self contemplation after seeing into his mind. I hope I learn what he is teaching us. I also hope to achieve great things like he has. And I hope to explore and expand the boundaries, too, just like him.

  • thank you for sharing..

  • made it all look so easy... amazing!

  • Amazing documentary on a true artistic genius....I just went to his exhibition in SF and was taken aback by the authentic expressions he was able to capture...The world will never see another Avedon...

  • I found it inspiring to get a brief glimpse of how he worked with his subjects.

I can't wait to see the exhibition at SFMOMA when I'm there in November!
