  • This show would have been so much better without the fake 'hitting the ground' sound effects.

  • Awesome. Thank you.

  • Don Johnson looks amazing as a brunette. haha

  • We should take note also how there is an equal balance of intelligent, compassionate and noble white men and women in each episode as well, so there is a balance. Let's not forget also, that a good dose of action and conflict is needed to move the plot forward. This is Hoolywokd after all

  • Like many here, I have been going through the series and noticing themes of racism and bigotry being repeated, at the hands of racist whites towards Asians , Native Americans and Africans. It's curious how unsettling this historical reality becomes to some whites when they are forced to confront this ugly side of themselves repeatedly.

  • That boy played one heck on a mind game on the big Irishman...

  • thx Girlfromrio!

  • OMG, I FIGURED OUT WHO THAT INDIAN BOY IS....DON JOHNSON. IT TOOK ME THE WHOLE EPISODE, BUT ITS HIM. I KNEW THOSE EYES.

  • donalddrennie 31 - I had to stop laughing after your last post. Wasn't this show created in the USA for the sole purpose of making money? It wasn't on PBS after all. The fact that a bit of Taoism snuck in was the personal view of the show's creator. Where in the Tao does it talk about white people and communism? (I think there were a fair number of bad guys on Bonanza, too.)

  • @donaldrennie31 This series depicts a time in America when slavery and "Indian removal" was in effect, so I think its safe to say racism was quite common, unfortunately. But, regarding communism, you may have a point, especially considering this is a Warner Bros. production. The show does contain obvious anti-gun propaganda along with the "we are all one" element of esotericism that has been utilized quite effectively by some authoritarians as a means to control individualism.

  • Don't know about the "white man is crap" message. Historically, whites in rural areas of the south and southwest post-Civil War were generally poor and crime was rather high. Racism was common. Neither was true everywhere. The show focuses on the exciting times: racists and criminals.

  • @MrBoboFace Just remember that not all white characters on this show were hateful.

  • Something to comtemplate:

Master: Still water is like glass, it is the perfect level. A carpenter could use it. The heart of a wise man is tranquil and still. Thus it is the mirror of heaven and earth. The glass of everything. Be like still water, you look into it and you see yourself.

  • Quality TV

  • I'm also going through all of them. Thanks a lot girlfromrio.

  • this was a great episode. Thank you again for posting these shows!
