The bible says a sacrifice is when you take something you love and care for and destroy it in the name of god. When God asks for animal sacrifices, if the family was well to do, and do not need to purchase a dove on the spot, their animal was to live in the home for a year, as their pet, then sacrificed, a good healthy animal never forced to work, and taken care of lovingly. BTW- The photograher is basing his entire argument on the Bible saying a Rabbit Chews its cud? I'm not willing to do that. The Bible has been "interpreted" through the ages, sometimes wrongly. No ones fault of course, as some greek words don't translate well to english. The "Rabbit" in this instance could very well be the animal known as the Hyrax, or Rock Hare, which DOES in fact chew its cud. Many Bible translation use "Hare" instead of Rabbit. they are prominent in East/North Africa and Egypt
