Also, fedor has a promotion compant called M-1 global, he is part owner and if they co-promote with a promotion such as strikeforce, they get a cut of the ppv aswell as fighter salary, ufc didnt like that so fedor went to strikeforce. THATS why fedor went to strikeforce!
The only sticking point was the co-promotion. Back in 2007, UFC paid shitload to buy monopoly rights to MMA from Pride. Why the hell would they co-promote immediately after buying Pride??

The issue was that M1 demands a 50% cut of the profits and wants to be promotional partners for any event Fedor is involved in. I know it's insanity, they want 50% for supplying 1 fighter. Zuffa was going to allow Fedor to compete in Sambo, M1 would be a sponsor with a 20% cut of the profits, their logos everywhere at the event and Fedor was going to get a fat contract.

I've been watching mixed martial arts for a long time, and I agree with cro cop the difficulty of fighters is substantially higher in the UFC. I think Fedor is really good, but I can't see him beating Valesquez or Dos Santos. I do think he'd be able to beat Carwin and Lesnar though, it's just the way they match up.

Fedor is NOT ruining his legacy. That legacy is cemented. Unless Cain Velasquez beats JDS and Shane Carwin, we can't even compare him to Fedor's legacy. Cain might be better than Fedor. But in terms of legacy, he is years behind.
Fedor fought Sylvia and AA in 2008 and 2009. That cemented his legacy for sure. I don't think you will be satisfied until Fedor comes to the UFC and fights against Cain and JDS.

The reason fedor didnt sign with the ufc is because the ufc wants exclusive rights to him, meaning he cant compete in sambo anymore. Just like thales leites, demian maia and gonzaga couldnt compete in abu dhabi anymore. Also, fedor has a promotion compant called M-1 global, he is part owner and if they co-promote with a promotion such as strikeforce, they get a cut of the ppv aswell as fighter salary, ufc didnt like that so fedor went to strikeforce. THATS why fedor went to strikeforce!

The issue was that M1 demands a 50% cut of the profits and wants to be promotional partners for any event Fedor is involved in. I know it's insanity, they want 50% for supplying 1 fighter. Zuffa was going to allow Fedor to compete in Sambo, M1 would be a sponsor with a 20% cut of the profits, their logos everywhere at the event and Fedor was going to get a fat contract.

The issue then was that M1 wanted to co-promote with the UFC. I love Fedor and I don't think Dana is always right with his views about fighters in other promotions. But letting M1 co-promote with the UFC is just not good business.

@sal55 thats not the point.. he uses sambo techniques in his mma style because that is how he started. he competes in the combat sambo championship tournament every year. hes the 8 time champ and if he signs with ufc he cant compete. right now he has no contract he can fight anyone he wants. and sambo isn't "unknown" in their culture. civilians are trained for self defense and the soldiers are trained in combat sambo, from what i've been told by a russian friend.

I've been watching mixed martial arts for a long time, and I agree with cro cop the difficulty of fighters is substantially higher in the UFC. I think Fedor is really good, but I can't see him beating Valesquez or Dos Santos. I do think he'd be able to beat Carwin and Lesnar though, it's just the way they match up.

You people are fools and buffoons, believing hype, hugging nuts, being comical fan-boys, and avoiding the really talented fighters to instead focus on the most famous. Fedor, GSP, and others....are decent fighters, sure. But pound for pound, the lessor-known Kenneth Allen is perhaps one of the best fighters to ever step into a ring or cage. See some of his fights to appreciate a true master of ALL aspects in the MMA game.

Mir wasn't exactly a BJJ 'expert' in the second fight. He lay there like an idiot and didnt even try to escape half guard. The most damage Lesnar could inflict on Fedor is maybe a takedown. Fedor could knock him out (Brett Rogers was no worse than Lesnar), submit him from guard and any other position..

Rogers, a former Sams club employee who has just started training MMA full time this year, got top position on fedor and pounded on him like no one did before. And Rogers has no WRESTLING experience whatsoever. Lesnar is a division 1 NCAA wrestling specialist. Fedor is a CUNT.
