  • everyone is a prodigy at something.....I'm a prodigy at spending my life on youtube

  • And YES if she was learning the notes by ear it would be an exact replication because that would be what she is HEARING. She is very very good. Her musicianship, rhythm, dynamics, and how the piece flows are all excellent for her age (and above her age). Most children would not be able to play this piece after 2 or 3 years of lessons, which is the most they could have by 6. It takes the average 4 year old a year (or more) just to finish book one.

  • I am fully aware that she did not compose this. I never implied that she did. I simply stated that it would be impossible to know if she had composed anything else. Besides, composing versus not is not the litmus test of child prodigies. And yes, she most likely learned most of this by ear. Most children are not very good sight-readers. They are just learning to read words. Look at the majority of great musicians on ANY instrument. They are learning by ear.

  • Wonderful.. I Love Dz.. Thx God Brought Me Here.. Gud Girl.. Keep It Up.. We're Supporting You! <3<3<3

  • You are a beautiful gift from heaven sweetie..., never stop.

  • Man, her 16's are in the correct beat. (even I can't do that...) Also, her dynamics are PERFECT!!!!

  • How is that even fucking possible? Wow....

  • id like to see her play the death waltz

  • The parent's inflated pride must be quashed if they are to carefully handle this child and have real information about what the progress toward any moderate level of classical musician requires - If the child shows real talent later + ambition to pursue that goal. This is a mildly precocious and fairly musical performance, quite good for a kid, that's all. There are scads like her who never go further because they don't have 'it.' No use misleading a talented child to later break her heart.

  • Honestly, she plays like a 6 year old. The word "Prodigy" is totally inappropriate. Don't get me wrong, she's great but I suspect folks may be missing the point. Does she beg her parents to play the piano? Does she compose? Does she hear music in her own head? I sincerely hope so because if not she's in for a load of misery.

  • @allthingskenteroo 100% seconding that! I was 'this' within one year of starting piano lessons at age six. The adults and adult music professionals around me called it 'mildly precocious' and nothing more. "Prodigy" is utterly inappropriate here. Whether she will go on, mature, and continue through conservatory and beyond even as a noteworthy workaday professional is far down the pike,

  • @allthingskenteroo This is clearly not a normal 6 year old. My mom has taught piano for close to 30 years now. This is a spectacular child. Look at the finger work and the elegance in the rhythm. Look at the concentration. You can see that she loves it. No one can force a child this age to produce this. At a child level they have to love it to be this far at her age. As she grows she will start to compose and hear more in her head. For now, let her be 6.

  • excellent

  • i think that this is the age that a serious pianist should achieve this skill level. No doubt she is very talented and disciplined, but a prodigy would be composing at this age. j.s. bach was a genius, but no prodigy that i recall. discipline, math, skill, and passion made him genius. mozart was a prodigy, in that he was performing and composing at this age, born to do it, and able without much effort.

  • @paganlight546 Has anyone confirmed that she is not composing? She could be... Also remember that she most likely learned all this by ear.

  • @nika71rose She didn't compose this. If she were composing, it would be EASY to find out; it would be here. Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata is intermediate. Show me a 6 year old playing the third movement, and they would be a prodigy.

I DOUBT this is by ear. There would be variation. This is the cookie-cutter style that anyone with a couple year's experience can do.

I'm NOT saying that she isn't skilled, just not a prodigy. Any child that loves the piano, and starts around 4 or 5 can do this by 6.

  • My niece is a 6 year old. Let me try to get her to sit still long enough to even LISTEN to this let alone play it.

  • Comment removed

  • She is not a fucking prodigy -.-

When you get your role as musician when you are 2 or even younger it is just a you are just "made" a so called prodigy and for pianist kids its normal to start at 2 or 3 so she prbly is practicing 2 3rds of her life -___-

Yeah she is good but not a prodigy ...

  • Magnificent, tremendous, fascinating off the wall work marvelous job!!!

  • pfft i could do that when i was 5

  • @jonjonamazing get out seriously. No ones going to give you credit for saying that.

  • wow!!! great....

  • She is amazing!!

  • good technique :) i learnt this song when i was younger too ^^

    keep up the good work!

  • I love Clementi!

  • ok im 19 and i cant play anything on a piano or any other instrument. tis girl is very talented and deserves recognition for what she can do. its not right to look down upon her and downgrade her. from what i could hear she played that faultlessly and it sounded beautiful. all of you need to start trying to work on catching ur maturity level up with your musical talent level if you realy are as talented as you seem to think.

  • Wow! I couldn't even really play jacks properly at 6 years-old.

  • Ya'll just saying that because she's black yes she's 6 what 6 year old can play that?

  • @kyliebubblegum saw no reason for a person to throw hte race card in. really none. is she good? quite good. can care less what she looks like. would like to see if she could hit beethovens moonlight sonata 3rd

  • awww you're so good. but not a prodigy sorry.

  • @werq34ac

I think shes quite the prodigy. People like you who attempt to objectively look down at other people who are obviously brilliant make me giggle.

  • @dancingwithcalvin I've seen better who aren't prodigies. Not to say she isn't good for age. In fact she's fantastic for her age. However, i don't think this quite qualifies as prodigious. It's a clementi, still a piece for students. There's plenty of 6 year olds playing pieces 100x more difficult than this. It's very good, but we shouldn't overestimate her.

  • @werq34ac

You know II think your right, looking at her videos of her contemporary age (14) she seems mediocre still.

  • @dancingwithcalvin Yeah I looked at them too. Her technical facilities are very good for her age. And yet, she plays with the musical maturity of a child. Disappointing... very disappointing, I was expecting more from her after watching this.

  • @werq34ac

    I blame the media.

  • NOT ASIAN!!!!!! :O

  • @Cellokicksass scuz me? look, that is one of the most R.A.C.I.S.T. things ive ever heard! how many of the greatest composers in the history of music are asian?? and even so, if you're not asian, why not try and practice on your own? you don't have to be asian to be able to be good at an instrument.

  • lol, i may not be a prodigy in piano but i am in art :D

  • what song is this??

  • Oh my GOD Much better than Emily Bear!

  • @zimmermann10 Chelsea doesn't seem to enjoy playing as much as Emily; besides, Emily composes her own music.

  • not as good as emily bear.

  • @az10rocks agreed

  • brilliant!!

  • wow she is amazing

  • She's not a prodigy, but she is very good

  • Wow such a prodigy. NOT!

  • @trospos123456 because i'm sure you can play that well.

  • @creamsodaistasty Funny cause I can you fag. Dont judge a book by its cover as in, dont judge me as a random troll, cause I'm not. It just takes practice to get to this level. no matter how old you are.

  • @trospos123456 LOL..did you honestly just call me a 'fag'? Grow up, little one.

  • @creamsodaistasty Yep I did call you a fag, you better get used to it, with that kind of talk everyone will call you a fag. Either you're hiding that people call you a fag a lot, or your one of those people that acts all different on the internet than in real life, in a way your a failed troll, I have two words for you GO DIE, acutally 5 GO DIE IN A FUCKING HOLE.

  • @trospos123456 Look up the definition of ''fag'', imbecile.

  • @creamsodaistasty fag is an abbreviation for the word faggot in case you didnt know.

  • @trospos123456 Not original darling, sorry.

  • @creamsodaistasty what does that mean exactly?

  • @trospos123456 Webster ;)

  • Why the negative comments? I think she is great and I think age is of interest. Well done Chelsea

  • Nice! BTW – you can learn to play this song in half the time with new gadget that reads MIDI files.

    Google “Gizmag and PianoMaestro”

  • She is amazing! But seriously calling her a prodigy makes me not want to listen to this. How is she a prodigy? She is not. She just practices! Sheesh!

  • Comment removed

  • this is talent not prodigy. can she go to college at the age of 12?

  • Comment removed

  • She has really great touch, esp. as a 6 year old! Keep her playing the things she should be playing... early classical music is perfect for her age. Calling people prodigies gives them reason to slack off... she needs to keep at it!

  • Gee, any kid that actually practices is called a prodigy! It's called practicing.

  • whats her name? anybody?

  • i dont see how she's a "child prodigy". she fantastic, but i remember when i used to fool around on the piano when i was 5, i could have easily played this had i wanted to. and im certainly no piano prodigy (i stopped when i was 7 haha). all it is is scales

  • @yumeybaconcutout word, i didnt really think she was a prodigy either... my mom beat me to death playing shit when i was small...

  • I can't believe anyone would dislike this. Some people are just assholes.

  • 86 People Are Jealous!!

  • awesome :-)

  • GOod performance!! Your staccatos ...clip them. Yes it is clementi, not beethoven, so can and shoudl clip. These staccatos right sound a bit 'lazy'. Other than that goodf sensitivity, dynamics, almost perfect technical mastery, will go far in a career of music.

  • You played that peice so beautifully.....you are doing so great.....Keep up the good work.....Here is a quote you should always remember: "Never Stop Trying, Never stop Believing, Never Ever Stop Dreaming....

  • I'm about 5 years older than her and I don't think I can play that! :( I'm gonna go practice something...

  • it might not be the most difficult piece, but i thk she really put spirit into the music

  • I was never good at the piano. Playing two different things with both hands was just too much lol. The cello is my thing. But this kid is AMAZING!

  • i like how she enjoy it

  • FML so much for becoming a fucking pianist

  • Really good job Chelsea :)

  • this is awesome, but i agree with amberint

  • Why do uploaders feel the need to post the age of the performer which has absolutely nothing to do with the music, and don't bother to post the piece name and composer. Of course it's a Sonatina by Clementi, but I'm truly sick of seeing 6-year-old prodigy as the title of every video. This is an easy piece, any child could play it well with proper practice, there's absolutely NO NEED to self proclaim your child as a prodigy other than bragging rights, which RUINS the SPIRIT of music.

  • @PrawDuhJee Then how did you find this knuckle head?

  • @PrawDuhJee I agree here, but what I think you are overlooking is how more developed her touch is compared to many many other young children who study piano. Easy technically... touch is something that comes from more than just practice. Real potential here, I think... although I wouldn't call her the next Kissin ;)

  • @PrawDuhJee

the term prodigy is bandied around too much

  • @PrawDuhJee Maybe you should have remembered your USERNAME before you posted that comment.

  • @PrawDuhJee

Hahaha you may be the biggest tool on the internet. 'Of course its a sonatina by clementi...' so I'm guessing you play the piano and learned this song a few years back. You probably know a lot of songs by name and composer, but you probably never did shit and probably suck more than you think at the piano, so you have to kill the pride in a parent or a six year old by attacking the video. Suck it, you suck more than anyone else.

  • @Wastedface99 Fuck you buddy. That's what I have to say to you sir.

  • @killanick87 Elegant. And... you are who? You can suck it too.

  • @Wastedface99

Face the facts he is right. I'm pissed of thousands of proud parents who post their videos of their cool prodigies which often just got pushed and pushed by the parents. Such parents should face the reality too, especially that their children often don't play hard pieces or aren't real prodigies because they didn't get blessed by nature. And take your 'Suck's away, they just make you inrespectable

  • @Wastedface99 I admit that it may have been a little harsh for the parents to hear, but it was merely the truth. There are countless numbers of videos out their claiming that their child is a prodigy, and while some are true others merely portray children playing a few simple sonatinas. This may be a parent's pride, and while they have every reason to be proud of their children, it is not the same in the case of others.

And you don't have to go insulting other people in your comments. Just state

  • Respond to this video... you opinion and argument, or compliment one another. That's that. No need to spread more hate around this world.

  • @PrawDuhJee good one bro. "PrawDuhJee"? LOL.

  • Man Ive seen some little Chinese girls play 10x better.

  • @asdfxyz1 you know your low when you make such a comment about a 6yo girl!

  • Prodigy's excel and continue to excel. If one is truly a prodigy they will be known across the world within their trade!

  • [84 people have NO idea what a piano is... Sad...] Question : Is that Sonatina? :) I'm learning it and find it a bit difficult...

  • well done!!

  • Gee there are some muppets on here. Talent jumps out at you. Chelsa has it in bundles. She also has that unusual ability to be make the music exciting and captiviating. She has got it. Another musician who I really like is Lola Astanova. Musicians like Lola and Chelsea are all too rare.

  • Not to be rude but a lot of people are this good or better at this age. I can't remember, but i was probably as good, heck i started at 3

  • this is beautiful!I go to the musicschool and I can not play it half!

  • Comment removed

  • Sembra che giochi!!! Fantastico!!

  • if u are given piano lessons t age 3,4,5 or whenever any1 can play this

  • @hello1232038 that is most definitely NOT true.

  • @Vaskis4life why??

  • Prodigy? there are 7 year olds playing chopin's fantasie impromptu on youtube

  • Amazing.

  • OMG SHE BETTAH DAN MEH!! i cant even do twinkle twinkle little stars on the piano o.o

  • I'm 15, played the same song, which is meant to be quite easy for me, and I can't do it half as good as this lil girl D8 I feel ashamed...

  • For real, who in the whole wide world could give this video a thumbs down?? never will understand it, its just perfect! amazing!

  • emily bear is better then her and emily is a prodigy not her

  • oh wow thats amazing i'm 14 and i can't play like that! :P

  • hax

  • i wish i can play like that....i hope my grandchild can play.....she still 1yr.....keep it up.....Chelsea

  • I don't see what's the big deal with all these "prodigies".

I mean sure, she's good and all, but I wouldn't say she's a musical genius.

If all "prodigy" means is that one knows how to play the piano at 6 years old, anybody in the world could be one. Heck, I played this song when I was 5, and I'm no prodigy, I just started at an early age. If your looking for real prodigies, look at Rubinstein or Lang Lang--they could actually play major concertos VERY WELL at an early age.

    Thumbs up if you agree

  • @Xlarate1337 thumbs up!

come on everyone, dont be drags!

  • @Xlarate1337 I'd love to see you play this song now, if you could play it at 5 years old it won't be too hard to upload a video of it.

  • @calathan No, it certainly wouldn't be very hard. But as I said, I did not play it well at all and do not wish to go through the trouble of embarrassing myself. And if you don't believe me, that's fine. Just go look through the thousands of other "prodigies" on Youtube. I have no problem with people calling her talented because she certainly is, but I think prodigy is taking it a little too far. Nevertheless, this is only my opinion (and possibly others),and whether you agree or not is up to you

  • Cute as can be, and at six can play WAY better than I can. lol What a little darling.

  • wut song is this called??

  • @glittergloss255 Sonatina in C major, Op. 36 No. 3 by M. Clementi

  • @dellmaths ok thanks so much (:

  • LOVE it!

  • Wow...I've been playing for 34 years and, rather than feel the need to put down a young lady who plays beautifully, I am honored to listen to her play so beautifully. She's using her talent to brighten the world rather than sit on youtube bringing others down. If you play as well as she does then put it up on youtube so others can enjoy your music rather than wasting your time trying to hurt the feelings of another person.

  • dont put "child prodigy" becuase this kid is obviously not one. she is just talented . thats alll

  • I can play that song!! But Im 14, and cant play it that good! :O She sounds like a fucking pro! haha keep up the amazing work, kid.

  • One heuristic for classifying prodigies is: a prodigy is a child, typically younger than 15 years old, who is performing at the level of a highly trained adult in a very demanding field of endeavor.

Is that the case here? I don't know. But she is good for 6.

  • agree with Andromeda 1741

  • wow shes really good

  • She is so cute and incredible.....

  • oh my God!!! Shes amazing! I hope dont say that to her too much though or she'll become arrogant like most of the kids in this age..... :/

  • FAKE! not a Prodigy, and she's definitely not 6! She has progeria shes 46

  • Comment removed

  • true prodigy. well done, im sure in future time you'll become a very fine musician :)

  • She is born to play piano..

  • beautiful.

    <3

  • i dont get this....how is that a prodigy??? im not jealous or anything..i mean shes good...but how does this dertermine that sheis a prodigy? i mean, other people have played this song just as well when they wrere younger...

  • @PuffeyCream I agree, that piece is not hard to play at all. Shes good and all but that doesnt prove shes a prodigy.

  • @Andromeda1741 absolutey. this piece isn't hard to play at all, its only level 7.

  • @PuffeyCream yeah but she started playing piano at 4 1/2 years old. and that means she only took 1 1/2 years to get to level seven. that is still impressive. most kids who start at that age but have played longer than she has; and they are still stuck at level 2 or three...

  • @meowmeowgrl then i guess shes good. just as they said, "talented." not a pridogiy.

  • seriously all this prodigy shit gets annoying. I could play shit like this when i was around her age and my little brother just learned toccata and fugue and hes only 9. Age has nothing to do with talent and this girl can tell you that.

  • who wrote this songg?

  • @NihilTico muzio clementi.

  • 1:30-1:38 is awesome. dont ruin the kid by calling her a prodigy...just let it flow and call her that behind her back.

  • @amblerint Amen! Prodigy is the worst thing to be called as such a gifted musician. I hope they do not ruin her obvious love of the piano.

  • I'd kill for even a quarter of that kind of talent. Anyone who has a skill of any kind should consider themselves blessed and no one should put others down simply because they lack understanding and compassion.

  • @angelluvbug82 BEAUTIFULLY SAID!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU

  • Wonderful expression on the piano! Great!

  • magnifique

  • amazing :)

  • What a talteted little girl.

  • There are lots of videos saying child prodigy but I think they´re not prodigy, they were just made to study hours a day since they´re born like most asian players...

  • @thezebradonkey yeah she does . chelsea doesn't seem to really be into it . like she almost looks like she's tired of it . Emily is amazing , she is so happy and she is an amazing composer . you can tell she loves it

  • I LOVE this kid!!!!

  • I mean, she's good I guess. Better than I am now, and I'm 15 years old and I've played 6 years now.

  • Awesome, love the touch to the keys

  • excellent work!

  • I want to see a kid play something from heart, not something that can be beaten into one's head.

  • @RazgrizNinjaEX8 look up emily bear on youtube .

  • @bouich29

i know, I like Emily Bear why better, not only is she more concentrated, and more inot her music, she also composes like a genius :)

  • check video called "Amazing Child Prodigy" by INEAS, then decide which kid is the prodigy. this kid is average.

  • i got goosebumps! im amazed! wow! awsome! keep up the great work!

  • This is amazing...6 years old is young to play so well. I can't imagine my 6 year old son doing this. You can see she will become a fantastic pianist is she keeps it up.

  • well she is good but you should hear emily bear type her up shes amazing!

  • That's the real music! I'm tired of hearing all that filthy gansta rap noise.

  • Absolutly Amazing, congratulations Chelsea!

    Greetings. eGs.

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • You go girl. She is simply amazing. Thank you parents for this video. This is wonderful.

  • I'm learning this song right now it's soo much fun to play ! And she played it beautifully !

  • WOW

  • The song is called "Sonatina in C major" Op. 36 No. 3 by Muzio Clementi. I know this because i can play it
