I have the exact same truck a 98 with a 6 inch lift and dual exhaust. My truck has a 180,000 miles on it but I just stuck a new engine(rebuilt) in cuz I messed up the last one pretty bad. I've got tons of new stuff on it, I've practically rebuilt the truck with new parts. I have 17 in chrome rims with 35 all terrains and I have chrome around the wheel wells other than that our trcuks look the same. i'm probably gonna post a video of it sometime.

‎1998 Chevy Sliverado Z71 1500. With a 6 inch lift, 35 inch all terrain tires with chrome 17 inch rims. Chrome dual exhaust(not just dual pipes), 12 inch subwoofers. Daimond stainless toolbox, with diamond stainless guards around the bed of... the truck. The paint job is original and almost impeccable. It has a aftermarket heavy tint put on the windows.

+ New: Lights, heater core, raidator, bug guards, driver door and passenger handle, power locks and power window, tie rods, pitmen arms, air conditoning control panel. Almost new: alternator, air conditioning compressor, shocks, filter. And I just changed the oil and checked all the fluids before my engine started makng a knocking noise. :( But now I have a new factory(GM) rebored Engine which runs awesomely well! :D

So that is the run down on my truck, as you can see it is practically rebuilt.

Sounds like an exhaust leak ,or you're missing. I hate glass packs, I'd rather do what you wanna do and go with Magnaflows,Flowmasters are too quite for me, glasspacks are only for clearance issues, rednecks, and people who don't wanna spend money. Good thing you're gonna upgrade, The truck has to sound as good as it looks.

I got glass packs and they sound great to me but at the same time I love the smoothness of flowmasters and magnaflows but the raspyness of a glass pack sounds good sometimes.. That exhaust job looks pretty whack though. With the right sized pipes and tips cherry bombs sound good to me atleast

@Navajas440 I have cherry bombs....and your correct, I would never spend more then 100 bucks on exhaust. That doesn't mean I can't fit my own pipes and weld it up nicely and put on glasspacks.....just means, as long as I got a freed up exhaust system (no emissions and free flow mufflers), I have no need to spend big bucks....plus glasspacks on a tuned engine sound nice.

I heard that chevy 350 tbi engines are better served with X pipe duals rather than the traditional way.. not sure if you had that or not but just what i heard. Also, i'm not sure but i think it would be wise to get some kind of a heat shield for the gas tank so you don't blow up lol. again, just some of my suggestions/what i heard. but other than that. dude this setup is sick!!! i want to get glass packs they sound nice!!!! *thumbs up* bro
