I was fishing airforce towers and caught a few 20 pound mangroves but i lost an absolutley huge one and yes im sure they were mangroves just they took roids
@BeanDip0913 because that is such a majestic fish, let that shit live its already 20 years old, the meats no good anyway and if it was a female, it would produce about 10x more eggs than a young female...
I would be scared to run out of oxygen free diving like that;if you go down too deep chasing a fish and exert yourself a little too much you could be in trouble trying to get to the surface without blacking out...you guys obviously know what you are doing, but I would be too preoccupied with tht to be produtive down there.
This day the seas were so rough we tied off 15 feet below the surface to keep from breaking loose on the rig. It was nasty. It is deceptive but it is pretty damn rough. If you watch the rig legs you can see the difference in the water level as the swells/waves pass
Nice grey - my kind of shooting :) at the rigs in good green water......my favorite food though is the Florida pompano. Seems we are getting more and more in our Texas rigs.
Positive. Our close friends have shot the last 3 IUSA world Records for Mangrove Snappers. The Cuberas look very similar so it would be easy to make a mistake and is kind of hard to tell in this video. Cuberas aren't nearly as prevalent either especially in that area.
@TehPurgatory That definetly was a mangrove snapper u can tell by the snout how it isnt stubby like a cuberas and probably the give away it doesnt have half inch fangs
That thing is giant.

this is very cool, i gotta say though it is pretty cheap that he gets to spear fish off of a remote oil rig.

I'd like to see you try to anchor in 600ft-1500ft deep water. LoL
Wow you were trying to make "iambabb" look stupid but instead made yourself look like a idiot. Haaha you're awesome!

Nice Mangrove! We used to catch them that big regularly here in the east central Florida area. Seems all the reds have pushed them out though...
