  • Great talent, great tone. Thanks for the free lesson

  • Great man, excellent feel, sound, phrasing...! Thumbs up!

  • @heartshapedcup thanks for the comment

  • Excellent Excellent TONE - you nailed it! Those GEC KT66 must mean something; because that's the immortal sound we all love! Would you tell us about this Metro 45 amp? not familiar with it.

  • Greatt stuff man

  • Excellent tone thanks. What was the amp set at , I reckon at 7 volume or above?

  • @TheSterlingSound Thanks for watching, yes the volume was indeed cranked...past 7 and almost to 11

  • great playing and tone sir. are those kt66 in ur amp? and if you don't mind telling what ot are you using? great job!

  • @natrix611 Thanks for watching and yes these are original GEC KT66.

  • Back on the throbaks....Any chance you could demo these 101's clean?

T'would be very beneficial to get the whole scope of what these TB 101's are capable of.

What are your thoughts on the 101+ Throbaks vs. the 101's featured in this video.

    Much appreciated.

  • @rmontognese The 101's are capable of anything you can throw at them...no matter what style you play hard rock to smooth jazz. If you really need to know the difference between the 101's and 101+ I suggest you visit the throbak site. I havent played the plus set so I couldnt give an honest opinion. If theyre anything like the 101's you cant go wrong. Thanks for the interest.

  • How do you like the Throbaks?

I am considering buying a set of 101+.

I wish I could hear the 101's (these 101's) without any or much overdrive, You know .clean,

    Nice playin btw.

  • @rmontognese Thanks for watching, I am really diggin' these 101's, Ive had them for just about 2 years now....no complaints whatsoever. BTW, they clean up incredibly well!!

  • Sweet tone and phrasing , you must have very understanding neighbours!

  • @matdotcodotuk yes I do, thanks for watching.

  • Are you in open E tuning? Using minor pentatonic scales, and in the key of C the tune? I hope I´m guessing it right.

  • @MrMuddymilton yes standard tuning and in C...thanks again for the kind words.

  • Have mercy! The best I´ve seen here in Youtube, including some "stars". Seriously. No one dares dislike, and that´s something.

  • @MrMuddymilton yes!, that's right mr. Milton. Amazing, very beautiful blues guitar improvisation. thank mr. milton for recommending this video to me. Two thumbs up for lespaul10, I invite you today and hope you accept me to be your friend. Have a great week, ~Yusuf~

  • @bungaciput Hi, Yusuf. VERY, VERY HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! for you, your family, and beautiful country.

  • @MrMuddymilton Thanks for the kind words.

  • @lespaul10 welcome ^_^

  • @laz7 thanks laz

  • Very nice playing, great tone, great vibrato. You have really naided the Beano tone. I'm looking at buying a 335 with these pickps and you may have just pushed me over the edge. Thanks for the demos.

  • @tommc49 Thanks for the comment and the pickups are a great choice, you wont regret.

  • Nice job...how you digging the metro bluesbreaker?

  • very well done (Y)

  • Sweeeeet tone!

  • Dude, that is THE sound. Nice playing too

  • @hardrockerdave94 Thanks for watching and the kind words.

  • Simply wonderful.

  • @RyRobCon Thanks for watching

  • I love it. Good job Les

  • Haha, Guitar Techniques July 2000 with Geoff Whitehorn, I recently managed to get myself a copy from eBay, just for this track, and to have a go with my 2008 traditional Les Paul, sounds very good.

I like your improv, you don't play what Clapton(/Geoff) plays (obviously) but it sounds really great and well pro.

    Me likey alot, cheers.

  • almost sounded better then clapton....but dude u rock! great playin :)

  • Sweet sound and playing, guy!

Nice to see such a great guitar in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing with it.

  • Comment removed

  • Damn that is some screamin tone. Just wondering, what pup's u have in there? the stock 57's classic's, or something different?

  • I enjoyed this 1 dude...did a great job...ye know, no vocals to hang on to...lol....

tiny little thing...try and work on yr timing (its my nightmare too..lol..)

    Have an nice day.

    Vanu.

  • @vanu49 yeah I'm with ya on that....timings a bitch without vocals.....I just go with it as best I can. Thanks for the comment.

  • what's the les paul model?

  • @LesCrapio 2002 58 historic

  • awsome beano tone

  • Brilliant, man! Love your vids, keep on bluesin´and thanks for sharing.

  • Very cool!

  • Sorry, I meant "Best Beano tones" but of course they are beastly!

  • Dude that smokes! Beast Beano tones and licks since . . . Beano.

  • Thanks for the extremely nice comment!!

  • awesome tone, really nailed that Bluesbreakers tonality Clapton had back then.

  • Thanks for the comment.

  • good job! nice tone!

  • Wow.....HEAVENLY TONE!!!

  • I think I prefer this version because the other seems too trebly for my ears although the other may be closer to the Beano recording. Like someone commented, it reminds me of the Udo Pipper Betts/Toler tones (for a helluva lot less $!). Nice.

  • Thanks Impala.....anytime refers my tone to that of Udo's,....... well thats heck of a nice thing to say. So thanks!!

  • Nice & tastefull.

  • I love greenbacks, but I think the golds have me won over on this one. Sounds very Udo-ish. Liking the mids and bell like chime. Very Very creamy/greasy! *****

  • BTW, I like the first vid too. Both great, just a different feel.

  • Phil, in your other comparison vids I prefered the 20s but I love the Golds for this one. Much creamier. Great playing and tone, as always. Keep it up.

  • Thanks Slow much appreciated!

  • This is just plain phenomenal! A job well done.

  • Thanks brudda!

  • So much more responsive than the low volume vid! You nailed it!!! What do you take for the headaches, though!?!?

  • Thanks Andrew......generally with great tone from the Metro at cranked volumes, headaches arent an issue.......only hearing...LOL

  • bonechilling, is all I'm sayin'.

  • Thanks Bigs, thats quite a compliment!

  • BTW, where can I find this backing track? I'd like to try and learn some of the stuff your playing, and using the same track to learn would be a big help. Thanks

  • Phil, have you ever tried an attenuator? I had an Ultimate attenuator for a while for my Vibroverb, but found my Okko Twin Sonic (overdrive) pedal pretty much achieved the same sound as the attenuator,so I sold it. I've been considering adding the METRO for some time now, and wondered if playing at lower volumes just doesn't achieve that sweet tone. I've got a 50W Aiken Sabre with a master, but there's nothing like cranking a tube amp up all the way. Great playing, and loved your tone. Cheers

  • Thanks Lefty, yeah I had a weber mass some years back, but after a few months it started acting up. I think it had a funky pot in it...anyway yeah it was agreat tool and worked great......but theres nothing like cranking a Metro 45 wide open with a paul, or for that matter any vintage or boutique tube driven amp. Thanks for the comment and cheers brudda!

  • listening again, this one seems alot more expressive, and having played through a gold in the past, and now a blue, I suspect their touch sensitivity / dynamics and feel could have some thing to do with that. Yeah, for me the tone hear leaves the 20watters in the dust. They sound great, but the tone here's just a little classier sounding. The tone is perhaps a little clearer sounding through the golds too

  • Thanks for the words JB. Yeah there is a distinct sound between the golds and the 20's. They both have a very nice creamy smooth breakup when pushed, but its different between the two. It seems to my ear that the golds high's and mids are smoother than the 20's. The 20's highs and mids seem more there, more presence......not better or worse but just different. The golds are definitely louder, more efficient speaker. Anyway glad you liked and cheers mate for your opinions and comments.

  • Yeah, love the tone hear - it seems sweeter and just sings more for you

  • Great playing and sound! You really got "the sting" in this one!

    Colin.
