Since the dawn of man's awareness he has looked up to the sky to take comfort in knowing that he is not alone even in solitude as a familiar friend smiles down upon him. After 2 million years you would think that such a familiar face would now be taken for granted. Such is not the case as demonstrated in this video. Like an old friend this marvel still stimulates the senses with marvel and awe. No other video I've ever watched has come close to portraying this warmth and wonderment.
Great stuff, your visual effects ROCK BIG TIME. I am simply fasinatited with natural phenom's. TRUE IS REALLY REALLY STRANGER THAN FICTION. I have seen the northern lights one time living in the mountains here in WA state, seen astro showers near Pintecton BC, and an man made event of a natural gas line explosion. They all kind of freaked me out and puzzled me.
Great work! Thank you, I would not have been able to see this eclipse at all from where I live since I'm at the bottom of a canyon. Also it occurred at a most inconvenient time, thanks again for sacrificing your sleep and or comfort to get this footage. As a fellow photographer/videographer I know what this takes.
@Altaira55 I definitely need to work on some camera motion equipment - escpecially super slow-moving stuff for doing timelapse... Hopefully coming up soon =) thanks for stopping by!
@jcmegabyte It could be worse. Year ago there was a full solar eclipse and I was so excited! I traveled to the south of Germany for it, I was prepared, i was ready, and at the ''moment supreme'' it was fully overcast.
While the other half of out group who had stayed at home, and did not go to the hill, got to see the whole thing! I was deeply disappointed.
@AafkeArt As rare as total solar eclipses are, I can definitely understand how you felt about that! Pretty hard to predict what the weather conditions will be at a certain place and time, even with the amazing array of satellite and other information available. Many times it still comes down to plain 'ol luck... I guess that's what makes those kinds of shots so special. We've just gotta keep trying until we get them! :-)
@JcmdiStockFootage They are not just rare, they usually occur on some small island in the middle of the pacific! This was my one chance! I was really, really disappointed! :(
the actual eclipse to me is cool enough, but i love the colour change. i saw a monster full moon ( orange-red )hanging low in the sky back in june of 2000. ( brisbane, australia ) i can remember seeing the craters with my own eyes. it was damn huge. i wonder what sort of alignment or whatever else, was happening then. sometimes when she hangs low she is as yellow as cheese.... and so damn huge... so damn awesomely mindblowingly amazing to me.do you take requests cauze i would love to see planets
@NAKOR007 I will have to get MUCH better telescopic equipment before I can film decent images of the planets, but I will definitely keep it in mind! =) Thanks so much for stopping by!
@MrBretlee That's a "lens flare" - which is an internal reflection of the moonight between the multiple pieces of glass in the camera's lens structure. Some people mistake them for UFOs! Even though it looks like the sun, all these shots are of the moon :-)
@angelwz73 It was only visible from the western North America, although some places in the pacific rim could see it as well from what I could see on the maps... Thanks for visiting! =)
OH! So it was an eclipse! I saw it in Latvia and did not know what was I looking at! I saw it go from half-eclipsed, so to say, to, you know, non-eclipsed. :DD

Awesome video, nice capture of the fireball at the beginning. I went out at 4am to view it, froze my ass off and did not see anything. Thanks for the video upload.
You're the only one that I've found to have captured this eclipse for viewing pleasure on YouTube. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was too tired to watch it that night, even though it was perfectly clear and COLD outside. My husband watched it, but it didn't fully start until 6am here in WA. Again, thank you.
@AutumnKitten I would have much preferred your weather... The clouds nearly ruined this event here and I was fortunate to get the few hazy shots I did. I'm glad you enjoyed this one - Thanks so much for watching and commenting! :-)
AWESOME! Sir do you have a website? In the future i'll need pro-advice on cameras, doing stuff just like you are doing, and i think your the right man to advice!
@rifleman0007 I do have a website (JCMDI D0TC0M) although I don't have a lot of my techniques posted there since many are trade secrets of my own design :-) I'd be happy to help out with recommending equipment and basic methods though. Cheers!
@FriedelAstro The commercials can be a pain for sure, but partners do earn a percentage of the ad revenue, although it's not much unless you get millions of views per month... The best thing is that YouTube tends to promote partner videos on which they can place ads, so my vids get much better exposure and featuring than they would otherwise. =) Cheers!

Invest in a motor that moves your equipment to keep up with the Earths rotation, it's frustrating when it quickly slips out of shot isn't it?
