Anyone who hasn't downloaded this game is missing out! A lot has changed since 2007 and although we're a relatively small community, more and more people are playing every day! No longer do you need to buy a HL2 game to play FF since the Source SDK Base required to play FF comes with TF2 for FREE! So go download TF2 if you don't have a HL2 game(such as HL2DM, CS:S, DOD:S) and head over to the Fortress Forever website and check this game out!

Conc Jumping is the single most destructive thing to happen to that game, it ruined any semblance of class balance and turned the game into a mess.

when conc jump in tfc kinda hard of it some players i met they perfect it. me sometimes i perfect if conc jump in tfc u heard some of conc grenade a good time that what frustrating

i don't play TFC, never got into it because it was "dead" by the time I discovered it, with too many amazingly talented people, but I've always admired the movement in the game. wish i could get into it and be competitive

Nice Video dude, I've played tfc back in the day quite religiously and just got into FF. The reason most people hate TFC and FF is that the learning curve is extremely high. Another is that there is quite an elite group at the top too who arn't too helpful to noobs.

Halo is a good game but it doesn't require much skill. Basically just run and shoot. TFC and FF actually require skill and the patience to learn that skill. Halo bores me, mainly because there is no bhop, concing, super fast fictional BS going on. True, Halo has ctf but it just doesn't have the speed and flow of a good fortress game. And why insult someone because of what they like? To each his own.

In TF2 , being a sticky-lobbing faggot makes you "uber leet", while it's incredibly cheap and lame, it is a bypass of the intended class use and an engine exploit, people STILL like and promote it.

likewise, some of the "LOL AWESOME" games out today are just disgusting. Crysis is a pretty candy - you look at it and lick it once, then throw it away..

I honestly don't care for TF2. Valve took TFC (which is, to this date, still the greatest shooter I ever played) and stripped it horribly. Again, it just doesn't have the same thrill factor. It seems like Valve was aiming for that but fell short for my taste. I have yet to play FF and it looks good and most of the feedback from the die-hard TFC community is positive. It looks like the designers stayed true. By the way check out the few TFC clips of mine if you want. Nothing amazing, just sharing

Of course i hate it, it has absolutely no substance to it, and it's just chain after chain of cheap engine exploitation and trickery, no skill. But that doesn't change the fact that it's shallow. You have options but people just abuse the same 1-2 tricks \ exploits OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

There is no skill, you can delude yourself into thinkinh that bullshit like conc jumping is skill. It takes no skill to throw one and stand near it.

The spy is a nice, luck based class in tf 2. He knows what he has to do, but all the flak , random pyro flames and even bumping into one of many players around TIGHT corners make it so it'S PURE LUCK if he succeeds.

The funny thing is, the 'old school clique' were only good because everyone else was still improving. By the time they all quit the skill level of the regular player had improved massively. Old school players were really bad, just no one else was any better.

If you want an example, look at a clip everyone jizzed over. It was a ramp slide with SG circle on bases_r by =BC=Undz. That became a standard conc that required no skill, but everyone thought it was amazing at the time.

And you also have to just look at movies such as the SHS movie or any old [UE]Battery movie. Again, at the time, amazing, compared to the modern TFC players (pre TF2)... it's completly crap. The old school players peaked, and new ones came through the ranks as they were leaving. I think only a couple of the elite old school players would be able to hang with the later generation if they continued to play.

Funny how I played for the Welsh international team (after turning down the English one because there were several people I didn't like).

I also played premiership TFC for most of my time playing the game. In many of those ego boosting forum threads, I was listed as a top 5 scout and demoman (often #1).

Binding a key to prime and hold grenade 2 is a good way to HHconcjump with the medic, as it's really hard to do with only throw. I tried to hand-held once, then I dropped it and got blasted by a sniper.

Grenades dont make the game. in fact i cant even use em that well. anyway i love concing just as i jump off a mancannon and get hyper lunced pretty much to the other base on aardvark (im not a good concjumper lol)

TF2 is more contemporary, a slowed town game relying more on a finite set of skills that you use in situations where you shoot mostly on reaction and a more search & destroy methodology.

TFF, and TFC for that matter, is more intuitive, and requires mass knowledge of a wide variety of skills that are essential to performing a task effectively while optimizing movement abilities. In addition, shooting requires much more timing and follow-through than the contemporary "point, click, move on" idea.

they are two different games on the same engine. ff is more true to its roots while TF2 is a relatively new game that kept some ideas from the old TF games.

I would have to disagree, alextheromanian. Of course you can play sequels first. This wouldn't be a good idea for a game like Half Life and Half Life 2, but an fps where there's not really a huge storyline and it's just red vs blue and the like doesn't really have this problem... Although, like you said, the two games in question are different enough to say that they're different games. So really, playing TF2 first is like playing a new game and not a sequel. :P
