I was about to go to the C4C, but I'm glad I didn't traded any of my American vehicles: 86 olds Delta 88 2-Door, and 96 Ford Mustang, because I was about to trade for a Saturn Astra which was originally made in Belgium by Opel (sounds foreign to me)
Its a terrible idea dont they see that they are destroying perfectly good american made parts now we'll have to buy cheap foreign countries hrelping their economy instead of keeping the money here at home.
I agree not to trade in a beauty like this one, that's part of history. But would anybody really miss something like a '95 Ford Taurus? I think the program is good for crap like that. Especially if you needed a new car anyway.
I run moonshine just as clean and a dollar a gallon. I just do notunderstand our American people why make more MPG cars when those current ones are perfectly good and just change the fuel . Obviously government control just in one area not including everything else our government controls it does need to be overthrown someday for sure.
@solomonthered my gramas honda is the CNG civic and its got more power than the normal civic. i normally hate most hondas but that CNG civic was a nice move.
car enthusiasts need to be mindful of the obama administration. These are the kind of people that will sign into law federally mandated scrappage laws to remove all old vehicles from the road. we had all better hope that does not happen!! think about it....
I sat in a HONDA Clarity FX, just recently. Bottom line: cheap to look at, cheap to touch, simply aweful. I remember my 85 Regal. Unbelievably well made, unbelievably..
Oh yeah...the older american cars were simply built to last and very comfortable and stable feeling to boot... The Honda Clarity, like most other new vehicles, is put together with the crappiest materials...Hit a bump a little hard and shit falls off...By far the new vehicles such as that awful Honda fall in to the true clunker category. I have a 65 Chevy C20 truck that is my daily driver and it's all steel...Runs great...Gonna be posting some videos on it soon :)
Good. Keep me tuned, gonna sub yr channel if you post some vids of your C20. As I said, the best and most reliable cars I (and my family) ever had, were all american. All. Not to mention the '92 Cadillac of my dad. A hell of a car. Those chunky doors, the sheet metal, the paintjob, the ride. A Mercedes just can't hold up to it. (comparison car was a 2006 E-Class. Yes, a 2006 model). You ask me? Drive American.
@sideslide23 doesn't mean its safe from some scrap rat who'd just crush it for the steel. I've seen some neat old farm equipment and old trucks being hauled off to the scrap yard.
This is what should of been done to the clunkers. People trade them in on more fuel efficient cars like they have been doing, but instead of blowing the engines and crushing perfectly good cars, the dealers should of retrofitted them to run on compressed natural gas and resold them for $4500 and they wouldn't be loosing any money.
@ carguy255. The dealers weren't ALLOWED to retrofit the cash for clunkers cars. Why? because they could easily be turned back into a gasoline vehicles again, and the gov didn't want that chance to happen. After a CFC deal was made the clunker BELONGED to the GOVERNMENT not the dealer. Oh and not to be an asshole or anything but you spell the word losing like that. Not "loosing" with two O's, I see that mistake all over youtube. See MY CFC result. I have a NEW Pontiac G5. Go to my videos.
no to mention the inside of the engine remains cleaner, the exhaust pipes wont get all sooted up and what comes out of the tail pipe would be no worse than lighting your stove. think about it really, it might be the answer. destroying good cars really sucks and its the wrong direction for us to take as a nation.
i agree. i wonder if my 89 camaro would run on CNG. you know if we were to convert a great deal of the national fleet to CNG, it would have a REAL impact on emissions. really wish that instead of destroying those late 80's early 90's caprices, monte carlos, and camaros to CNG instead of throwing good cars in the dumps. i wonder why CNG never caught on. there probably is a whole lot more CNG than crude on this planet. GREEDY OIL, THATS ALL
cng is nice i know i work for Cummins we and most of the fleet shuttle buses are cng i work on those and diesel engines i prefer diesel but its more fuel effeicant than cng but cng a propane have their pros and cons id rather see some of the cars i have seen killed in c4c be converted rather than destroyed though im thinkin of a diesel swap in to my own pick up and makein a hybrid killer
