Like the idea of Andy Serkis & Monica Bellucci playing Samuel & Shota, not sure with regards to some of the other suggestions. Jonathan Rhys Meyers from the Tudors would make a better Michael Cypher then Joaquin Phoenix.

I know there’s a difference of opinion with regards to the Legend of the Seeker, but I think Bridget Regan, Jessica Marais & Tabrett Bethell should reprise their roles if a movie was ever made.

definitely Famke Jannsen as Denna. Brad Pitt such a good actor, could easily pull off a villain. Not liking Kate Beckinsdale for Kahlan. Can't really think of an actress that could fill such a powerful characters spot. Love Monica Belluci for Shota too. One of the most beautiful women in the world.

I like almost all the choices... but I really don't see Brad Pitt properly portraying the dark twisted intent of Darken Rahl... and I really loved Bridget Regan's (Kahlan from the series) portrayal of Kahlan even though Kate Beckinsale is one of my favourite actors. other than that I'd vote you casting director :)

I love your choices for Shota and Violet. Gerard Butler looks absolutely perfect, except that he's too old, which kills that idea, Richard is like 25. Also Bridget Regan did a fantastic Kahlan in Legend of the Seeker, she'd be better than Kate Beckinsale.

Not bad choices, I personally would have gone a different way with some characters but great choices on kahlan and richard! Un fortunately that ambomination of a tv series has destroyed any chances of this amazing tale being created on the big screen, unless someone somehow manages to convince Terry Goodkind to get together with Peter Jackson and produce a serious, true to the books live action film.....oops, did I give away the greatest idea ever? In the books for Richard, they cast a really young Craig Horner, which I liked, it depends on how long the show's on, Richard does start off young in the books

The casting they have now is not really good. I wish they had a bigger budget to pick them cuz it would make a better tv series and if they would actually go by the book as the story line. And even thought I love Gerard Butler ( what girl wouldn't?) I think Eric Bana would be perfect for Richard. and Kate Beckinsale would be a great Kahlan, I haven't decided yet who I want to be Kahlan, between her and Angelina Jolie- when she was a bit younger. both our very beautiful though, all in all I liked your cast :)

That was an intriguing cast selection to sit through. My only hesitation with some of the roles, would probably be with Violet and Kahlan. I always pictured Violet as a little more rotund and mean-spirited, and I've just seen one too many vampire flicks with Beckinsale in them, as much as I love the woman. I am very happy with the real cast of the show. A series with so many well known stars like this cast here would be absolutely overdozed. Don't get me wrong, these are all fine actors. But to imagine, that Brad Pitt plays Darken Rahl and Gerard Butler in comparison Richard just does not fit together.

When I first started reading the whole Sword of Truth series (started it back in 2003), I had imagined I heard Zedd's voice as Sir Ian McKellen. I thought he was a great actor in the LOTR series, & would have been perfect for Zeddicus Zul Zorander, but we will see who is actually the one. This is going to be worth seeing...

The type u would overlook as just an old man unless you knew him. I really like your choices for Brophy and Richard. Out of the three options you have for Denna, I would have chosen Rachael Leigh Cook. She actually looks a lot like I picture her in my mind. I don't like Patrick Stewart as Zedd, though. That's the only one that really stuck out to me that I didn't like. When you got me thinking Brad Pitt as Darken, I realised that it really could work. It's not perfect, and his face isn't exactly right, but I think he could fit it very well.

I liked a lot of your choices, except for a few. I didn't like Darken Rahl, Kahlan and Zedd. Zedd is supposed to be bony and frizzy hair sticking out in all directions. Patric Stewart has no hair, and isn't exactly bony. I just never pictured Darken Rahl looking like Brad Pitt. As for Kahlan, she just seems to soft of an actor. Otherwise, I thought you did a great job. BTW, has anyone ever thought of Bridget Regan as Kahlan?

Excellent choices! The only ones I didn't really like were the Birdman (I always imagined him as being lean and muscular) and Kahlan (Kate Beckinsale...eh, just not working with Kahlan in my mind). As much as I don't like Brad Pitt, he certainly could look the part of Darken. Gerard Butler for Richard...I'm undecided. I think he looks a bit too old, personally, but he'd certainly be able to pull off the kindness/anger thing wonderfully.

Check out Chris Pine as a choice for Richard, I thought he seemed younger and more suited for an 'earlier' less confident Richard..use Butler later on.
