  • in this version, Hotspur, as an actor had a blood pack in his mouth. BBC hurting for money could not permit him to stop and do this scene again, so Hotspur's entire speech here is more bloody than usual- he bit it much to early.... yet no one would know otherwise!

  • Good performance! Even though I think the Chimes at Midnight production and performance is damn close to perfection - the sound quality of this clip gives it a slight edge in terms of delivery and clarity!

  • I think that this Falstaff is better. Welles had amazing physical gifts but Quayle pulls off the devious amorality as well as the festive loveability.
