Daniel's drilling on adjoining land drained all the oil out of both men's land. Daniel couldn't help Eli even if he wanted to, and he doesn't want to. He wants to rub it in that he's so bad, he took Eli's oil without even trying. The milkshake analogy is a metaphor for the situation.
