  • Don't.feed.the.trolls.

  • you want us to stop using fat talk- but you failed to give us NEW WORDS!!!!

please help start the change by leading us in the right direction. tell us "Instead of saying " you look great- did you lose weight? " tell COULD say instead, like " you look wonderful! are you taking vitamins?" or what ever.... we need direction for the change to take place. thank you and keep up the good work!

  • At first, I thought this was gonna go in a non superficial direction that actually matters, but...

  • Some people infuriate me.

The comments about it not being okay for women to be fat are disgusting. You know what's not okay? Putting people down who you don't even know. What's not okay is that 2 in 10 people with eating disorders die from it. What's not okay is that girls and women feel they have to be "skinny" so that people will like them, and everyone who is putting comments like "fat people are disgusting", you are just enforcing that belief. Who the hell are you to judge others?

  • So basically it's ok to be fat. Get the fuck out of here.

  • @sxswitch Thats Not What The Video Is Saying You Ignorant Twat

Its Saying That Disfiguring Your Self To Please The The Rest Of The World Is Wrong It Saying Be Comfortable As Yourself.

  • @TheAlexxRain Y U Talk Like Dis?

  • @sxswitch NO. Did you not read the part that says "The Healthy Ideal looks different on everyone" at 1:36 It means be healthy, and don't kill yourself trying to lose weight.

  • Wait, so is this video trying to justify being a fat ass? This shit reminds me of that "REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES" facebook group crap.

If anything, being a fat ass is the result of food disorders. Stop being a lard ass. Most guys do not like a fat woman. why? Because it is unsightly. Nothing you say or do will change that. And the only reason women don't want to be fat is to still be attractive to the opposite sex.

inb4 feminists start posting that this is not true, self empowerment, bla bla bl

  • @Snakezzz Most women don't like fat men, either. "Fat" is unhealthy because it brings on heart disease, diabetes, etc. However, anorexia and bulimia are not healthy, either. I have an hourglass figure and I love it (in fact most heterosexual men do, too). I will never starve myself to be "attractive" to men. No woman should. Confidence in oneself is what is sexy, regardless of weight. You need to grow up.

  • This is so wrong. we have a problem with fat people because its un natural and un healthy. are you stupid? its not hard to lose weight

  • Lettuce be reality a 220lbs woman is not healthy nor attractive. Keep it under 130lbs for best results.

  • @eckhard Lettuce be real? I do hope that's a pun and you're not so stupid to spell "let us" as lettuce...

  • cool 'cause ignoring a problem makes it go away. fawkin dumb

  • u mad misc? bertstare.jpg

  • Absolutely hate it when fat people try to justify their weight by making videos like this. I hope this doesn't go too far, because being overweight is actually becoming acceptable by men, whereas men have to work a lot on their body. Comment below me says 64% of women are overweight or obese. Explains these statistics that are there to make yourself feel better.

    And die at 60.

  • 64% of women are overweight or obese according to the CDC. The video maker seems to have missed that little gem of a stat.

  • Yes, people, "fat people" exist. Also, millions of people with eating disorders exist. Try to give a **** about helping hurting, dying people while you're so concerned with punishing "fat people." In the meantime, look at your own waistline before you point a finger.

  • The issue here is that some people are fat. Are we not allowed to talk about being fat during this either? "Fat" being a dirty word is part of the problem and part of the reason fat shaming happens. Fat isn't an insult, it's just a descriptor that tells you nothing else about a person. The issue shouldn't be stop saying fat, it should be reclaiming fat for what it is.

But, it is awesome TriDelta is making the effort to help self-esteem. It is definitely needed.

  • Somebody knows where can I find a spanish version of this video? thanks

  • Let me tell you this, every fat person I know (myself included) are not the ones who fat talk. It's the itty bitty coworkers I have who starve themselves and are sure they just need to do this or that or that and talk constantly about fat reality shows and whatever that are the ones that have the problem. This video is about SELF-ESTEEM, mental health. Mental health is an important thing too, and so a few fat people get confident? GOOD. No one should live depressed.

  • SPEAK OUT AGAINST FAT TALK FREE WEEK! IT is harmful!!! Watch my video about it!!!!

  • Hi... i am very thin, i took medicens for being little fat and i really got but then i left medicen so i not only reduced to previous size but since then i am severly sick. i am having digestion problem, i dnt feel like hungry,,, i hardly eat a half meal a day. i have got H-Pilory germ now. plz help me

  • This video bothers me. It's not good to allow overweight people to feel comfortable. It's not healthy to carry excess fat and your random facts about 'needing more fat' don't prove anything. Most female models have 15-20% bodyfat, and they look great, male models only have 5-8%. See, your body sorts it out for you, it doesn't need you to eat cookies 'in the name of health'. So honestly, develop self control, do some reading, and lose the weight. It's not that hard, I did it (however, I'm male)

  • My mom was in the Tri Delta sorority at the University of Pittsburgh!! I am going to the university of pittsburgh too and I will be in Tri Delta as well :)

  • It's so sad that most of the comments on this video consist of "fat talk." Isn't there something more important and interesting to talk about? What's good on TV right now? What are you working on? Seen a good movie or read a good book lately? How 'bout those Steelers? How long till Justin Bieber is totally over? There are lots of great topics out there!

  • there is no such thing as fat..there's no such thing as overweight........women are women......they can do anything a man can do...they can actually do more then what a man can do...(periods, pragancy)..im a guy, i have a girlfriend and i love her body and who she is.....she can do so much more then i can...keep up with skool while goin thru here period...i respect her so much

  • I am bulimic. I have been for two years. I am fourteen. My throat burns constantly.

But I like to think that one of these days I will be able to take a meal without running to the bathroom immediately after.

  • Im sorry but I have a body like a mannikin. I'm 34 year old mother and I am NOT anorexic or bulimic and I'm not too skinny to bear children. Any one who lables me is just as guilty for prejudice!! Fat women don't put us Down and say that we can't have kids, we are not anorexic or bulimic just cause we look good. God made us all different. We need to stop judging others whether we are fat or thin.

  • @carrrrera This video isn't judging anyone, whether they're fat or thin. This video is addressing the fact that society makes women, or people in general, THINK that they HAVE to be thin to be beautiful. The video said mannequins were generally too thin to bear children, but keep in mind that even mannequins are different, and most women should be able to bear children (the only factor is HOW difficult it is to do so).

  • @RawrPhish I still dont understand... how does the amount of fat have to do with a womans ability fo brear children,, I mean isnt it about the womans bone structure? I mean women with narrow hips do have more of a problem bearing children but the amount of fat youhave over your bones doesnt make a difference

  • @carrrrera True, it's mostly about bone structure, but a woman with more meat on her than will more likely have enough nutrients than a thin one, though NOT saying that a thinner woman can't be as healthy.

However, the thinnest women usually also have smaller bones. A woman with bigger bones can be a skinny as she wants, but won't look nearly as skinny as a skinny person with smaller bones. Unfortunately a lot of girls want to be stick thin when it may not even be possible for their body types.

  • @carrrrera Ok this is to help clear up some of the stuff on really thin women bearing children. To achieve and maintain a pregnancy a women requires a certain %body fat. Why? because some of the fat tissue in woman is called 'secondary sexual adipose tissue' and is a special female characteristics, like the difference between our breasts different and a man's 'breasts'. This special fat tissue produces female hormones that help control ovulation and maintain healthy pregnancy's. (see part 2)

  • @carrrrera Part 2- Fat tissue has an important function in women! That is why in general women need a much higher %bodyfat than men to be healthy. If a women is too 'skinny'(doesn't have enough essential fat), she will not be able to ovulate, get pregnant or produce a healthy baby. If the body is too low in fat it knows it can barely support itself so will shut off the reproductive cycle. Two women of the same height and weight may have very different %bodyfat because of bone structure/muscle.

  • @carrrrera agreed i think the video is about stopping all the fat talk and body hate, and loving our bodies as is, thin or big, we are all different and thank god for that! i think we sometimes forget that.

  • Song name(s)?

  • "FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS FAT TALK" AHAHAHA! I laughed.

  • i am fat and its not easy situation to get out of iv been fat since it started iv been bout 250 or higher im only in middle school and wish to lose it makes me sad and work slower i look at other girls and wish that i could be them and actually have a life

  • un esprit sain dans un corps sain est la perfection, pourquoi chercher plus loin?

  • The easy solution is stop being fat

  • @anon6952 - Not really. Negative self-esteem is present at any weight. Everywhere from 400 pounds to 80.

  • People in the discussion here need to understand that there is a difference between thin and skinny. Thin doesn't have to be unhealthy. If people have the BMI that is perfect for their body, you will see that they will look thin . Skinny is the problem. Sometimes when I see those catwalk models I get sick. No meat at all, not a little boob, or ass, legs look like twigs and without the make up they look sick. It so sad that girls actually want to be like them..and I don't mean sad in the mean way

  • One MAJOR issue with this campaign: Why does "fat" have to be a dirty word? I know plenty of people who consider themselves fat and take pride in it. You can still find yourself beautiful (inside, outside, both, whatever) and call yourself fat. Maybe it should be "End SHAME Talk." We need to dissociate the word from its negative connotation.

  • does anorexia only affect women?

  • @calzorro NO! Definately not!

  • Anorexic sorority girls who think they're fat are not the same as the average overweight American woman (and yes, the average American woman IS overweight) that thinks they're fat. One should stop being a superficial self-conscious bimbo, and the other really DOES need to hit the gym. This video ignores the fact increasing numbers of American women (and men) do not fit the "healthy ideal".

  • @AppleGiraffe fat talk doesn't help those people lose weight. Eating disorders include those Compulsive Binge Eating. Self esteem is all this video is asking for

  • @bibleisfake you're a loser.

  • This video isn't promoting the idealization of being overweight. It promotes HEALTHY body image. I'm a TriDelta myself and I am proud to be part of this campaign. Women on my college campus are too concerned with being thin and it's not healthy. I recovered from anorexia and I am still tempted today to lapse back into the trend of not eating...but things like this and the loving support of my sisters give me hope. The ideal "size" for women doesn't matter, what matters is being healthy and happy

  • There is a difference between accepting the person you are, and accepting being overweight. Being overweight is undeniable detrimental to one's health. So while we don't have to all be skinny, don't think it's alright to be fat.

  • @pemberfilm but you also have to understand that not everyone who "fat talks" is actually fat. there are millions of people who believe they are still fat when they are actually what society considers thin. next time, try not to look at this video with face value and understand that overweight people arent the only ones who fat talks

  • Athough this has wonderful intentions, I have to wonder if it really is the best thing for women. I think that it's okay to look at yourself and think "I should lose weight". When we consider that over 30% of Americans are obese and that obesity can be used to predict a child's cause of death to be obesity or obesity-related health complications within the first eleven years of their life- it leads me to think maybe being comfortable with your body isn't the best thing for American's right now.

  • Alright. I'll grant you the fact that fat talk is bad, but how do we actually curb the problem of obesity?

  • As an undergrad sorority member, this is a very powerful and important message. I think all Greek women should take part in something like this.

  • This is amazing!!!

  • This is such a beautiful message to send to all women out there.

  • Wow, when I read the fact stating 54% of women would rather be hit by a truck than be fat, I started to cry because it was then I realized how many people have an issue with their weight, and would rather be skinny than healthy. I strongly believe in this "Fat Free talk". And I know now that joining the Tri-Delta is the best thing I have done for myself, and for others who I hope to help.

  • This is a great presentation! Wish we could make it more than a week ;( But the media and even friends, family and ourselves create a pressure to be skinny, to be prettier, to be funnier and on and on. You should look into Skineez Skincarewear's No Body Bashing petition...I think that it would be a great tie in with your efforts to grow and continue helping young women!!

  • Although I am not a woman, I feel the power of this short presentation!

  • Comment removed

  • For those of you who claim that this video is saying "it's ok to be fat, overweight and unhealthy" you're wrong. This video clearly says, and I quote : "It's time to focus on the healthy ideal which looks different for every woman and focuses on health, not weight or size" . They only mean that we should not want to look like this actress or that model because we all are beautiful and different.

  • Woaw. This was awesome, i love this video. Really.

  • wow i LOVE this video!! it helps me in ways!!! I feel sorry for the people who r doing this to them self's!!!!!! Bravo!!!

  • I love the music with this!!! I love the video

  • If you just engage people's minds when they are younger and all through their child hood to their teens and into adulthood they would probably actually not have this problem, don't fix something that shouldn't have broken.

  • personally, i believe this is a load of crap because it's survival of the fittest, THINKING that your less than someone else, makes you less than someone else. If you have a strong mind, you wouldn't care what you look like. It's not that someone influenced someone, it's that someone was influenced. Notice how it's the people who make them selves look stupid, who have problems with themselves. And NO-MATTER How much you try to help them believe in themselves, this probably won't help.

  • And yet, i can't stop thinking that i'm fat, and that i really wish to be more fit. How stupid am i XD

  • @Fyuuuuuuu this video is trying to help women, don't watch the video and leave horrible, bitchy comments. This is a help organization, not a degrading one. If your not willing to help out, don't make it worse either. Just keep your stupid and hurtful opinions to yourself. thanks

  • Bravo!

  • The truth is, anyone who is critical about a person's looks, whether it be fat or thin or whatever, just has low self-esteem and criticize others to make them feel better....kind of a pathetic society, no?

  • I'm sick of the media propagating the notion that it is OKAY to be fat. Most people focus on the fact that the media sets an unrealistic standard for "real" women to compare themselves to, but that is just as disgusting as the rest of the media saying it's okay to be overweight. Both are huge issues, but the latter of the two is becoming more and more prevalent. Being fat isn't any better than being anorexic.

  • @imLOSTx109

Okay, they're NOT promoting that it's okay to be an unhealthy weight - they're promoting self-confidence in EVERYONE, regardless of size. There are plenty of people who are "overweight" by BMI standards, but are still perfectly healthy. And for the record, it is okay to be fat, as long as there are no heath issues present. The issue here is not size, it is being comfortable in your own skin and having the confidence to do all the things you want to do.

  • @TheManders Yes, I understand that. I didn't necessarily mean this video. The message of this video is very positive, but the media in general is saying it's okay to be overweight. And I don't believe it is okay to be "fat", because there are always health issues present (I don't mean those who aren't stick thin, but I mean people that are blatantly unhealthily overweight). I do agree with what you're saying though, it's important to be comfortable and confident with yourself.

  • Women, by genetics, are supposed to be more prone to weight gain.

Just like men are to muscle gain.

And on top of this, being thin is only a tiny portion of what the planet regards as sexy.

Shit, some people think sticking a bone through your nasal cavity is sexy.

You only have one life to live, and it would be shitty to worry about something like that.

In fact, if weight is your biggest problem, it must be nice to be you. So much other shit to worry about these days...

  • We love this initiative! Experience Life has been preaching the "healthy at YOUR size" message for years (like in our Body Positive article from December '08).

    Keep up the good work!

  • Whats this song?

  • I'd like to have german translations here for my family which can't understand german :(

  • I love this video- so inspiring! Way to go! :)

  • what is the name of the music played?

  • i lyk this video bcuz its saying how we should stop trying to be size 2 and 3 and find a weight we are happy with; a weight that makes us feel good. True you should be healthy but you dont need to be a certain weight to be happy and healthy. no one said you have to 90 or 100 pounds to be healthy and to feel good about yourself. Screw the media and their "skinny pretty people." fluffy ppl are beautiful too!!! id much rather to be fat than hit by a truck sheet!

  • God, someone has to make this in spanish... I have to show my mom whos overly obssesed with being a "thin mom"

  • its also harder for kids because they only eat what their parents feed them and they grow up most of the time eating the wrong foods.

  • Wow,only be proud of yourself if you are average weight, that is messed up even to think that way.i think you should love yourself NO MATTER what you weigh or HOW YOU LOOK!!!!! It's people who have that mentality is wrong with some of the body image problems we have today. When you are PERFECT then you should judge and say crap like that, until then ZIP IT!!!!

  • A healthy body is a beautiful body.

  • @technicolordreamgoat

Even if you're healthy at 200lbs?

  • @technicolordreamgoat I wouldn't be able to say it better. Health is what matters most, and like studies have proven, healthy people are more attractive than skinny people!

  • HERE, i'll "be a friend" to the strangers out there...

i LOVED the editing on this. with all the little cute animations to go along with the words. fun and inspirational. for those that also found this inspirational.. i advice you don't read any more of these comments. they just don't get it.

  • As a man, men are 'shallow' about looks. This does not mean that all men like super thin women (I for one, do not). BUT if a man is not attracted to your body he will NOT be attracted to you, boo hoo, we aren't shallow; it relates to evolution.

NOW before I get 1million messages, men like different women, just there are more that like thin women. There are plenty of men who can accept you body or love you body, but the majority will not. Sorry for being callous but that is the truth.

  • @superbowlbound my neighbor LOVES fat chicks

  • @superbowlbound

If it were EVOLUTION, men would be going after the heavier girls, not the thin ones. Thin people are more prone to illness than heavier people, and thin girls are less likely to conceive children. You can blame your shallowness on being a "man", but the truth is that you're just a big old douche bag who values a woman's body more than her character.

  • @daphnehatesderby Incorrect. According to evolution men would select thinner women to breed with, thus making more thin ones. This would only occur after civilizations created clothing so people didn't need body fat to survive, but that occurred a while ago, so thinner women are selected.

Secondly, as much as men will deny it the FIRST thing they notice is the womens body. If they are not attracted, they will never be attracted, case closed. Sorry women are so emotional, as you proved there

  • @superbowlbound

If men only selected thin women to breed with, wouldn't we all be thin? Where did you get your information from, exactly? People STILL NEED body fat to survive, idiot. I pity you and how much of a shallow little boy you are. Just because you date girls based on how fuckable they are, doesn't mean every other man does it too. Some men are actual human beings and not just sex-crazed dogs who don't understand the concept of a woman being useful for anything other than sex.

  • @daphnehatesderby Just because someones mom is/was thin doesn't mean their kid is... and yes you need body fat to survive, I understand what anorexia is. And sadly no, I don't date girls because of their bodies, you misunderstand what i mean by men are attracted to girls bodies first, but will only stay with them if they have a personality. I never once mentioned 1) a 'good' body (just one that is attractive to him and 2) having sex, at all. Stop PMSing bitch, you are an idiot

  • @superbowlbound

I'm glad you understand what anorexia is. Your anti-fat comments make a lot of girls think twice before eating. So you don't date girls for their bodies, but you will only date one with a nice body? Very interesting. Lol. Also, I like how women are only allowed to be argumentative if they're on their periods. Just shows what a sexist pig you are.

  • @daphnehatesderby Yeah, read my original comments, I clearly state I don't like really thin girls, I find it repulsive actually. Also a nice body to one guy is not the same to another. As much as every guy will deny it in front of a girl if they are not physically attracted to you they will not EVER be interested. And women are emotional, a proven fact, as you show time and again. Please stop being dumb and read what I write instead of crying about your ex. boo hoo, the real world is harsh

  • I have had patients who are in college who are vilified by their room mates because they clog up the showers with vomit. But here is a group of women who made something and are starting something that doesn't just show anger but reaches out to the problem to help the women and girls who are afflicted as we are all them.

Cudos to you! I hope to hear more about you and about this.

  • I agree with the message and all, but I bet this will make fat women be like "I'm perfect." But honestly being fat is not good. You should only be proud when you are average weight.

  • @asoulchange No, this video is not going to make fat women suddenly think they are perfect. AND if it did that, it would be better than having so many women and girls hate themselves.

  • i hate myself. i can't do anything because of how disgusted i am with myself. i look in the mirror and cry. im too fat to live pretty much. im repulsive. i cant do this.....

  • thank you for making this vid. im suffering from an eatdingdisorder for 5 years now and it kills me, i hope ill be better one day. take care xx

  • Discussing the topic of "beauty" or what men consider to be "beautiful" is risky. It's not men's fault, per se. All of us have been conditioned by our society - men and women alike are fooled into believing in this ideal of a perfect woman that usually is skinny. The main cause of that is the profuse influence of media. It does not have anything to do with being attractive to 'healthy' figures... If you look at primitive art, the women are all overweight b/c men perceive curves w/ fertility

  • It's amazing how shallow people can be. There is NOTHING wrong with choosing to be fat as long as you research what that Intels and can deal with the consequences. Like it said, if manequins were real they would be to thin to have kids. By contrast us fat girls can still have kids. Why is that? It's because nature preffers us chunky. So stop criticizing other peoples looks and worry more about what's on your own front porch.

  • The reason why men like that image of extreme skinny women is because in our society obesity isnt healthy and is out of control so they like the extreme oppisite before they wanted people who were hevier because it meant they were wealthy and healthy as opposed of the majority who are starving. As humans we want what is healthy and will bear the strongest children

  • I think this s good, "Fat Talk" is bad. Being and thinking your fat when you have dibeties issues because of weight and heart problems and all of that. That is when you need to recognize that you are fat and get healthy. We are all born different so yes that i deal is rediculous but saying its ok to be fat isnt thats an excuse an justification for being unhealthy. FYI men feel the same way and have the same issues so don't start blaiming men for the media image

  • Honestly.. unless you're gunna work with ALL media companies, this will never happen.. sorry, if you haven't noticed, media did this to women? The advertising companies are usually run by men, and products don't get sold and money doesn't get made unless people feel inadequate to others and buy things to 'fix' this. There's no money in people being fine with who they are, and America runs off how much money it can rake in.

  • Everyone should come to their senses and start doing what they love and stop caring about looks and ideals.

I pity those who cannot get that into their heads.

  • I couldn't believe that people would actually rather be *hit by a truck* than be fat. That's just...appalling.

Just another reason there needs to be a change.

  • The thing I hate the most is when magazines have empowering articles about weight and body image and such, and then continue to have impossibly, ridiculously thin models scattered through the rest of the magazine. What kind of message is that sending to women?

Anyway, I loved this video. Fat talk must end.

    :-)

  • This is a good video...

    I'm fat and I feel like I can't live.

  • I love this! It's so empowering...

  • This moves me every time I watch it, and I share it with everyone I can. Thank you for this gift. Some people may not understand the importance of the message, but as someone in recovery from an eating disorder, I see that it is not funny. Very well done, and thank you!

  • wow reading these negative, baseless comments, its sad how stupid most people here are. i feel sorry for u guys.

  • @hawahawai

how can you bash a video like this??? and to those of you who "like" this comment, I ask the same thing! It is no wonder we live in the culture that we do. I have had an eating disorder since I was 14 (15 years now) and have a daughter who is 8. Eating disorders are certainly about more than just feeling fat (they are a mental illness), but the cultural ideals do not help.

  • @8nadiabear

m not bashing the vid. comment was bashing the ppl bashing the vid lol. all those comments are gone now. flagged as spam thats why u can't see them.

  • @hawahawai so sorry ! thanks for clarifying!! :)

  • This video is talking about achieving a HEALTHY body image. It is not saying, yeah it's good to be fat. It's saying that the way you look shouldn't determine how you feel about yourself as a person.

  • But should it be that way? Should people be straving themselves and harming themselves physically to be "beautiful"? I personally suffer from anorexia, and so yeah I know being fat is unhealthy but so is throwing up and starving yourself to fit the definition of beautiful. Grow up and stop being so fucking shallow.

  • @thebaudgod: it's not easy to eat good food because most good food is expensive. there are many people living in poverty and afford healthy food. but still, a healthy body is the way to go.

  • to those of you wondering if there are studies (proof) to back up the statistics quoted here, the answer is YES. The TriDelt's website has a list of statistics along with the academic references those stats were taken from.

  • This is good news, women worrying about their looks prevent those dumb sluts from ruining this country.

  • To everyone that missed the point of this video it isn't about being fat it is about the mentality we have come to accept as what's normal & acceptable in our culture. Yes having a BMI that's too high or low is unhealthy. The point I believe they were trying to make here was to educate people about this social issue & not whether guys are idiots and insensitive or if girls are "too fat to bang". It's about hearing the issue & recognizing that it's a problem and to interest people in changing it.

  • +1 Allah

  • Good thing most self-valuing women want nothing to do with the "average man, such as yourself". Also, most self-valuing women would rather have a relationship with a man who can think and feel beyond the scope of "sexy=skinny" or rather, as I suspect the case may be: "sexy=subservient". We may have self-esteem issues, but one hopes we can be wise enough to avoid the super shallow persons who seek to disempower. Power to Tri Delt. I know I'll be participating in this Fat Talk Free Week.

  • I fucking lol'd at you not understanding men.

  • Funny how until the invention of industrialized agriculture a more plump (about a size 10-12) was the ideal body image. The trend toward extreme thinness can be tracked back to 1970 when agricultural policy changed from stopping farmers from producing too much to paying them to produce as much as possible flooding the world market with corn and making corn bassed products really cheap.

It's not evolution retard it's economics.

  • can i have some proof these "facts" are even true?

  • wow. nice PSA :D

  • Ironically, I've seen many times that the depression and self-hatred that goes with thinking of yourself as fat & ugly actually contribute to the problems that people (both male & female) are so damn afraid of in the first place.

People who think they're fat or ugly are more likely to "let themselves go" and give up on even trying to take care of themselves.

So, in essence: Just accept yourself, and it'll be easier to be a better person.

  • This is great. I hope it reaches every woman because all are affected by the fat image.

  • Great video, I'm definitely going to be doing this. Fat talk does nothing but hurt.

  • this is a good video. the usa is really having an eating disorder epidemic...overweight, underweight, whatever. its obsession. i wish the world wasnt like this. i wish the media wasnt like this. i wish that women could love themselves as themselves, and through self love and kindness, the disorder would be helped. but instead the media portrays diet after diet....its so sad. i wish it was different. videos like this give me hope for change.

  • Actually, the beauty and weight loss industry are not making their money because women are overweight, they're making it by exploiting women's insecurities about themselves and creating new insecurities to which they promptly provide the solution with their newest product and or surgery. Many times, the market creates necessities at will. Gillette's marketing made armpit shaving a custom for women in the 20th century. Also, health is not a quantifiable characteristic.
