I used to be an alcoholic who was addicted to gambling. My nights would routinely consist of heavy drinking and betting excessive amounts of money on poker and blackjack. After one of those nights I woke up the next morning and suddenly lost all desire to do either of those things. I give myself zero credit for defeating the addictions that plagued my life. Why? Hello, jobthatsme09, The Bible does not confine the creative "days" to literal 24 hours or to thousands of years- the heavens and the earth were in existence before God started to count days of work toward the earth- Gen 1:1. The beginning of God's work on the earth to make it habitable- then follows time periods called days- not literal 24 hours- but eons. So- The first sentence Gen 1:1 shows no time constraint- just completed universe, done. Then a start to work toward earth habitualness

What we call "millions of light years" is not what God uses. He is outside of time and space since He created it, and He is not limited to our measures. The Bible doesn't say millions of light years, just that He spoke, "Let there be light" and it was. He is greater than our finite minds can measure.

The reason why this debate doesn't work is because the concepts of religious faith and rationality oppose each other as much as north and south. i first saw these videos in my faith class at my high school, I am proud to say..that i have been hooked ever since and my faith has never been stronger before.

You know what's ridiculous? He accommodates science facts to fit in with what the bible says. But that's not the way science or philosophy work, it's not about jumping into conclusions and fitting them into religion, but about following the road that the facts set up on us. THAT'S science.

The beginning of God's work on the earth to make it habitable- then follows time periods called days- not literal 24 hours- but eons. What we call "millions of light years" is not what God uses. He is outside of time and space since He created it, and He is not limited to our measures. The Bible doesn't say millions of light years, just that He spoke, "Let there be light" and it was. He is greater than our finite minds can measure.

I was purely reacting on coopersnoop's comment, saying he hates science talk of 'religious nuts.' The reason why this debate doesn't work is because the concepts of religious faith and rationality oppose each other as much as north and south. It's impossible to have an opinion about faith if you haven't once been 100% devoted to a certain faith.

very small, yet incredibly loved. I feel safe knowing that there is a purpose to our lives, that we matter , that we aren't living just to be dead in the ground. I am happy everyday because even when I feel alone I know that I'm not and I know that when I'm stuck in the rough spots of life... it will always get better and that is why we share videos like this..because there is a chance that someone will see it and they will find hope because we all need hope sometimes. Now, He makes all of these moves to reach each and every one of us so that we may believe in the Gospel, that He sent His Son to die on the cross for the remission of sins. It is by believing in the gospel that we are saved and we are rescued from hell. He knows everything yes, but He also gave us free wills.

If someone was forced to love you, would his/her love mean as much? He made us this way for a reason and until we understand that, life will never seem fair. He's reaching out. No. If you believe and love God, you'd want to please Him. And by doing so, you'd avoid committing a sin. Plus, people go to hell because they refuse to believe in Jesus. And you see a hateful God because you refuse to see a loving God. Your mind is already closed to God that's why you can't see what we're all talking about.

I'm here, watching this video, because I once felt what we call as God, and I consider myself open minded enough to give it a chance, to see if things fall into place. But no. You know what's ridiculous? He accommodates science facts to fit in with what the bible says.
