Sounds great, but I think my version is different from yours. Would I be able to get a copy of your music to compare the two? Besides I think yours sounds better!
Really cool Mick...love all sorts of music and your playing has really made me appreciate tradtional pipe playing...thanks for the post keep it up man
Wonderful playing, great sounding embellishments! The always love the sound of the shuttle pipes, really unique! Would the sheet music for this be available online? Regards, from Halifax, NS.
You can find this tune and others in Gordon's book "Gordon Duncan's Tunes". Henderson's has it for $32. "A percentage of the proceeds from this book will go to the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust, which has been established to promote piping and other traditional music."
Phenomenal! Wish I could get that tight in just 48hours on a tune. I had to pull back on comps due to lack of practice time...now its taking me longer to learn any new tune! Great job!
Cheers man! Thanks for the compliment! I need to get back in on the comps big time. Want to go professional. Just found an open grade teacher to work with, so hopefully that will be a reality ... Fingers crossed ...
Wonderful stuff, all notes sound crispy clean! Wish I could play like that. Do you happen to have sheet music for this? Gordon Duncan's tunes are almost impossible to get, especially here in Poland. Thanks for sharing this!
Love it! :D

Not ony the piping is great, but the sound is superb. The buzzy drones are incredible. This is a perfect advertisement for the Walsh shuttle pipes.

You know, I think I prefer this tune a bit slower, like this, instead of the usual breakneck speed, actually.
JSCWhistler 3 years ago
Really well played. Possibly a bit faster but you're right with speed coming later later. All the gracenotes are spot on. Well Played!

Duncan was a Genious. Why did he kill himself? =(
ThePipinFonz 3 years ago
well, being a genius doesn't guarantee happiness. Shit, I didn't even know he killed himself.

And if I were you, I would try it out on the big pipes. It actually sounds great. Go listen to the Rogues do it on their album Roguetrip.
