great memories of mostly embarrassing myself everynite with these guys--one of many drunkin groupies. best regards to all---you know who you are!! shea looks like my shetland pony. loved every moment of it!!
Anyone that could have had a short chat with Sam would've been wearing a big fun grin/smile ....such a friendly chap....he could turn your mood around with his natural fun way:-)
Something had the band on my mind lately and Googled to see if I could find downloads or anything. I found this, thank you, Blessings to Sam's family. He was a good friend - back in the day. Gonna see if I can dig out any old pics and scan them. Post any links of music to buy too Please.
I went to the Village to see the Sharks almost every month back in 84. Live in Atlanta now, but hoped someday I could see them one more time. That dream ended and now I'm just glad I have memories and these great clips. Thanks for posting!!
My condolences to the friend I never truly met, and to your family, friends and the band. I meant to return to the US to see a reunion show, but always thought "next year". I still know the lyrics to the songs and sing them all the time, your music continues to intrigue and inspire. Thank you for the music and the memories. From "Nancy".
I have been a fan since the days at Hugo's in Reading , The Silo on 183 & The Met in Harrisburg. I have made it my annual pilgrimage to attend their reunion shows at The Village on Easter eve & Shakey's on Black Friday and never once was disappointed with a Sharks show. A tight, tight band. Sammy & Shea fed off each other and it came across in their performance. Sam "Lugar" was the consumate performer and will be greatly missed. God's speed Sammy....Long Live the SHARKS!
The world lost a great man. The Sharks literally provided much of the soundtrack of my teenage years and I was fortunate enough to see a few of the reunion shows in the past few years. Sam's voice still sounded awesome, and the band still rocked. RIP Sam - you will be deeply missed.
Oh so many memeories from the Silo in Reading....I remember getting squirted with a water gun when they sang Take Me Back To The Water.....and oohhh...that tush shake....was so sweet!!!!!
I was VERY saddened to hear of this news the other day. He will be missed dearly. TY SOOO Much for all the great tunes that you made with the sharks. I will Miss You Sam!! R.I.P.
We'll miss you Sam...May God Bless your families, friends, your Band and fans. Thanks for the great music that we laughed and danced to. You're in our hearts forever. Love
Our thoughts and prayers are with The Shark Band members, the familes and all the fans who loved to see you play. You will be greatly missed...but God has other plans for you. A huge thanks for Rocking Lancaster, PA and America! You are in our hearts forever! The world will never be the same...God Bless!
So sorry to hear of Sam's passing. I first saw the Sharks in 1980 or 1981 at Millersville college(back then). I also remember seeing them at Lancaster Catholic High School right after they recorded "You'd better watch her" single....Good times!
My heart is deeply saddened this evening as I learned of the passing of my good friend, Sam "Lugar" Rawhauser. My thoughts & prayers are with Sandy & Ian in this most difficult time. Sam was a truly gifted musician/entertainer and will remain forever in our hearts. Goodnight, my old friend and may God bless you.
I am so sorry to hear about Sam. I was a fan of The Sharks back in the day and last saw them at Gullifty's in October 2008. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Thank you sooo much for putting this together! This brings back so many great memories. My prayers are with sam and his family at this very trying time.
Mark is the cute one back in the dark corner, what a sweetheart!!
