  • Is it possible to upload this in its entirety? Two of my favorite tenors and my absolute favorite male aria....Some have accused Bjorling of a steely, unemotional, although technically sublime, voice. I find his voice has incredible emotion.

  • ospedale psichiatrico

  • In my opinion Björling sings this aria better than Caruso but the Caruso-recording is perhaps older than that from Björling so that influences the quality. But even so Björling has a voice and technique which no one after him has matched! He is The tenor of tenors. :-)

  • By the way Gigli had as Beautiful a voice as Jussi, perhaps not as great an artist for technique but the voice was just as beautiful he sobed but was warm and a sweet singer wgo sang in aida in big houses and in Forza even with a lyric voice.

  • Gigli had a fantastic voice but it's hard to listen to him because he sobs and exaggerates. But the voice itself is sensational.

  • adobe audition 1.5 hahahah

  • I think most have spelt it out. Enrico and Jussi are both fantastic. They are the best!

  • Amen to that! There are only two tenors in the history you cold claim - factual - are the greatest and that´s Caruso and Björling. When they are so completely different it is wrong to trye to choose one. So let´s put it this way: Caruso are the greates spinto/dramatic and Björling the greatest lyric in the history.

I use to listen to both and i never compare between them. Just like i never compare them with a bass ore baritone ore a marathon runner with a sprinter.

  • Hi Sefferpot. I don't like comparing anyone. Some singers I always like, some I don't, even though they are widely acclaimed. I could listen to these two all day. The fact that there is so much heated debate shows that people know both are great.

  • Very well said!

  • Bjorling first tenor all times, Caruso the second, Panzarotti between the 45 and 48 place...

  • What is this crap? This is utterly useless. No point to this whatsoever. A sonic mess and a sacrilege.

Anyway, Bjoerling would tell you, just like Corelli, and just like Pavarotti, that there is Caruso and then there's everyone else. Period. And they should know.

  • its nonsense.

buit not as much nonsense as comparing pavoratti to bjorling or caruso.

pavoratti is the backstreet boy of opera, down to the mineing etc.

for my money there is no one id rather listen to than bjorling.

bot as powerful a voice as caruso, but i prefer his tone by far

  • Each has his own opinion even my Grandfather did but I would rather compare Jussi who is one of my top favorite tenors along with (3 others) to a voice type more his own, in his time, Wunderlich, Bergonzi and Pavoratti. Bjoerling was great but so was Caruso and they many say the greatest if you can say such a thing about anyone.

  • This is not fair. Caruso had a bigger warmer sound and Bjoerling a more lyric nordic silver sound, not gold but look at the old Caruso records? How can you compare the two anyhow since those old records are so lousy they sound better on my old wind up victola! My Grandfather lived from 1880 too 1980 and at 100 years old he still said Caruso was the greatest he ever heard and he heard them all live and was not senile ever. I heard Bjoerling but not Caruso

  • So this is how people try to rate an opera singer's performance? This is so far beyond stupid it's amazing! For whatever reason, Bjorling fans have to resort to this nonsense so that they can convince themselves how great Bjorling was. Sorry, it doesn't work!

  • Wow, wow, it's an incredible work. As the technological ignorante that I am, this seems to me magic. Bravo!

  • What a treat to have!

  • I love both; but here Bjoerling is better.

  • @wubejaja

    LOL!!

  • Very interesting...I am certain people will repsect each for the own intrepretation whilst we have the advantage to sit and judge...I will always pick BJORLING but thats me....effortless!

  • Caruso is the KING.

    VIVA VIVA VIVA ENRICO CARUSO!!!!!!!!

  • Great work buddy

  • Plase!

To be continued and finished, maybe...
