Seriously.. I've heard cases where self-parking cars end up making malfunctions and error and what happens? Either the driver has to park the car themselves or the car's computer malfunctions, it goes straight into objects and BAM.. GONE. So this tech is stupid.

Lexus doesn't even compare to BMW or MB. First they copied the germans and continue to copy it. second. Lexus is just a toyota with better plastic buttons. Not to mention that it is the germans that are innovative, ABS, Fuel Injection. Air Bags, O2 sensor. Most of car tech came from germany. All that money BMW and MB have behind their Research & Development. Lexus, Infinity, can't even compare.

i have this system in my car too...but mine is much cheaper...i park my car in neutral in front of the garage...then i push it to the garage...and theres a tire in the wall so the car doesnt get scratches in the bump...then i turn the alarm on...and thats it...

Wow talk about being all over different topics here. Oh well. The sytem looks pretty cool considering the costs involved. A radar system would just cost way too much for this application and using a camera is a brilliant idea. And for those bashing this because they think people are too lazy or stupid to park a car, consider where this was made. While we have big garages in the US, not all countries have the same luxury. You always have to watch out for damage on a coupe with long doors.

What a stupid system, a couple radars on each corner or the vehicle and the correct software would do the same on every garage without any need for deflectors. I'm quite amazed BMW is using such a retarded system, sure this is a very inexpensive way of doing it but for a company making cars that cost so much, money shouldn't really be an issue.
