i get the chills right when the intro riff is played in the metal part. i love how they mix it up with the reggae and metal. same goes for when they build up into punk at the end of "head in my hands" so sick!
@LolEpicFailGuy yeah maiden influence there for sure. Ive got one of their t-shirts that has eddie surfing in a tunnel wave of blood and skulls. its even got that classic maiden writing on back. Love these guys. I thought i was the only one in the world that liked reggae and iron maiden.
go to the expendables webpage. under band mates or whatever click raul and u can see all of his gear from amps topedals to guitar. and dont forget to join the expendables mailing list and preorder PROVE IT. 20 bucks gets u a cd, digital download of 4 bonus tracks, a signed poster, and a t shirt vor 1 Minute

the guitar is a hammer guitar. check the expendables website. they list all their gear. also they play mesa boogie amps. join the street team while your on the site!
I think a lot of times, they like to pick up the pace for live not just because they are feeling more anxious/pressured to play fast but that it also gets the crowd more rideled up instead of staying mellow the entire time, even tho they r a pretty mellow band to begin with if that makes sense
the always play way too fast live. they always add like 20-40 bpm for some reason live... their songs are much better at the usual moderate or slower tempos like on the album.
@IVIONKEYNUTZ they "finished" on this song when i saw them in orlando but then the whole crowd shouted one more and they played wells, head in my hands and bowl for two. fuckin sick.
ha you do realize that around 2:20 it goes to rock right..? Thats why The Expendables are so bad ass, cause they were able to fuse rock and reggae and make it sound bad ass.
the studio version is noticeably slower.. i saw them play this live at Dodge Theater in phoenix and it sounded almost better than the studio version (same tempo too). so i dunno what exactly happened here.
I think really its a different feel of the groove. I am not sure the band could all hear each other on this video. The studio version is definitely a different vibe, but I am relatively sure its the same tempo within a few BPM.
that "hard core metal" is called a breakdown. it's used in all kinds of music, this one just happens to be really heavy and with distortion. great band, keep your minds open everyone xx
It is mixed to be played through a large speaker system. Try hooking your computer up to your home stereo system instead of listening to it through laptop speakers or whatever tiny speakers your computer might have.
i guess i wouldnt know bcause im just getting into all the good stuff...pepper, expendables, passafire, marley, sublime, stoopid...cant get enough of it!
Yeah, the quality is superb, and the fact that someone managed to get a video of The Expendables of such quality is amazing, so kudos to you for that. =)
seriously dude i am watching this and thought the same thing, they are totaly making geoff the posterboy in this video, i know if the expendables saw this they would have a lot to say, but raul really is a great guitarist, his solo is sick in this song
You guys are right. we missed parts of the solos. But you need to keep in mind, there are only three cameras, one in the center that does not move and one on each side, so we take the best of what we got and edit it. So by no means is this a professional shoot, no headsets, monitors, etc. Just some good peeps running cameras, who want to help grow a cool, free community of music lovers.
my bad moboog, didn't mean to get all hateful, i love all your videos, i always have at least one on my myspace, but yeah now that we both have an understanding from each other, you'll probably remember to snag that solo next time ;) haha but really much respect to the guys at moboogie for without them there would be no video at all!!!
