back when CSX was the old L&N,and trains were going 60 mph down the granite sub and derailed right in front of where i used to live in the old Leinarts Post Office!

They are lucky considering that they were derailed just shy of a bridge, the tank car didnt explode on impact, and that the tornado didnt hit the locomotives directily!

This happens more often than you know. There was a case in Nebraska where a Tornado sucked the coal out of 8 or 9 cars in the middle of the train and dumped the cars on the side of the track. The train stopped with the train recoupling after it went into emergency. There was no track damage either.
