stop talking rubbish. The same thing happens year after year at reading and leeds. Every headliner blows the audience away, just check out other bands. 70% of nirvana's popularity is based on the fact that kurt is dead. And what impact are you talking bout? Music took completely different direction... nobody listens to grunge anymore. So take the bucket off your head and open up for the new music world!
I like nirvana by the way,but they cant save you from depression, they just numb it,but when you take the headphones off reality sets in,I was also very depressed until Jesus took the depression away,I am very happy now, I enjoy life,I love God and He loves me..and you! more than you can ever comprehend.
@stratomaster289 I'm also a born again Christian and I have a similar story as you, Nirvana has always been still is my fav band. But it's a Nirvana page. Not a Jesus page. God doesn't need you try to convert others this way. All I'm saying is that comment on the music, not that you really think people make Kurt/Nirvana an idol. Jesus never started preaching or pushing it unless he was asked. he just enjoyed people's company and they enjoyed his. There's a time and place for that.
Jesus Christ can make you happy, give you hope, and a future."For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.if you would like to know Jesus the bible says all you have to do is confess with your mouth"Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead that you will be saved.
@spanishnavax why thank god? the smashing pumpkins were an awesome band. yeah i had my phase of loving nirvana but i grew out of it. i wont deny they are an awesome band but the pumpkins had more sounds and were thus more interesting to me. But then they are two different bands so touche i guess, not fair to compare
I owe Kurt so much... before I got into Nirvana's music I was on the fast track to being a criminal, setting fire to shit and vandalising cars. When I heard the raw passion of stuff like this, I switched from acoustic to electric guitar and got serious about music, got educated and qualified in it.
In a way they saved my fucking life. Such a shame I'll never get the chance to thank them all personally.
dude i feel for u, just show your love for them by listening to them, ive made a wall in my bed room dedicated to Kurt and Nirvana they saved me too from depression love em so much
Grohl was just as important as Cobain in Nirvana. The band would never have been what it was if it was missing either of them. Time has proven they are both legendary!
@pukeonmyshoe2130 hell yeah, Krist was a legend, my favourite bass player ever. he had an awesome style and a great sound. id take krists palying any day over slap n pop style shit like Flea or something
@MarginxxWalker You are so right my friend, I for one walk to underground shows all the time. I mean there are some great clubs in my country and we get to see all the small bands, chat with them drink with them, and well their music is so much better than all the mainstream shit. Me and friend are often surprised why some of those bands don't have more recognition. They are just SO good. Kids, GO TO F-ING UNDERGROUND SHOWS, THAT'S WHERE THE MUSIC HAPPENS
nirvana still amazes me. when ever i hear one of their songs, i still get that same chill i had when i first heard them. no band since has come close to being as amazing as they were
do u believe everything you're told or do u have a mind of your own? to believe what the media said as being the whole truth shows you're a puppet & buy that he was just another cliche rock star. he clearly wasn't & if u LISTENED to any of his lyrics, u would know that. how dare you?
u obviously have no respect for the him & clearly aren't a fan or else u wouldn't speak so disrespectfully about him. we all know he's gone. there's no need for you to speak so callously about him. have some class
Nirvana should have never gotten popular. Not because they weren't good, but because they were too good for the masses. Now they're just remembered for "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and popularizing a totally fake movement called "grunge".
Yes. They were total retards. The vast majority only embraced this music because it was new, fresh, and socially relevant to their generational concerns. They didn't get "grunge" and they didn't get "alternative" and they only pretended to get Nirvana. In the end though, most were just looking for digestible entertainment or some crutch for their teen identity.
Rock is sadly dying, tbh, Nirvana were in the right place at the right time to throw Grunge Rock into the mainstream.. That opening doesn't come along nowadays..
to imissthe90s i had the same problem just try not to lift your fings from each not try to string them together like slide chord but going up and. also thks song requires a lot of chorus and destortion effects.
Could be you have a shitty guitar and amp or your not applying the chords properly. Just practice, its all about technique and that's something that comes over time.
the next album would have been interesting, with nirvana just played unplugged and just released all the old stuff, so they never reallie had much else to play apart from new stuff. But kurt was moving in new directions... I dont think they would b playing modern concerts, they barely liked the ones they played. Kurdt was totaly punk rock in his ethics, he preferd clubs and pubs, rather than "arena rock". But hey, what do i know. They might have release an album just like appetite pfff lol
Just think if Nirvana was still around there would be no Foo Fighters. I think rock music would be totally different because rock bands would still be trying to one-up them.
music itself would be different if kurt was alive we wouldnt have stupid rap like that youre a jerk song we would still be jumping around and bashing heads like rockers
what you said was totally not true. yeah all rap today sucks and all new rock sucks too but if Kurt was alive it wouldn't be any different becuase all of the other early 90s rock bands have faded away from mainstream
That's only because society has changed. That era is still a huge influence on me and always will be.
But not all 90's rock have faded. Pearl Jam is still around, Alice In Chains still tours with a new singer, TOOL still rocks hard. There are others, but we just don't hear about them.
Rock isn't in the mainstream anymore and it's really sad. We are still waiting for that band that will change the world like Nirvana did in 1991.
I would like to think Nirvana would have kept it strong, but I don't think it would have happened that way. Kurt's death contributed to the demise of "grunge", but it would have died anyways. Music goes in cycles. It's just a matte of time before this current brand of shit music fades.
I think Dave would have left sooner or later and formed Foo Fighters-which I consider to be the better band overall just because of the vast music library they have formed.
Nah. There would be rap. Peoples taste change and a new era rises and finds interest in something else. Kids don't want to listen to their parents rock(unless it's something killer like the Beatles or something).
Besides wearing plaid isn't as cool as wearing your pants around your ankles with a big gold chain with a .44 on your hip.
I think the song 'school' just sums up all of teenagers anger and frustration as well as the normal run of the mill guy aswell. Not saying i am but cmon. 'NO RECESS!'
man kurt was a great person with an ALMOST perfect family, courtney ruined it but kurt will always be missed and i know for a fact that there will be a few people who out of boredom become the next nirvana
Kurt we all will miss you forever you were a change to grunge music and you will never be forgotten
when you think about it,doesnt it seems kinda sad??? its almost been 20 years, and still i havent found any band that came after nirvana that are nearly as remarkable as them.usually somebody comes along that stands on the side of a remarkable band like them and it continuues and so on.and it did for alittle bit,but todays music just seems to have killed it,and now i just wonder, will somebody ever amaze us as much as nirvana, etc, ever again??

Apparently Krist had his Gibson "nevermind" Bass stolen off the side of the stage after this show.

This is the finest band of the last 20 years. NIRVANA. May be the best band we will ever know until our deaths.

man kurt was a great person with an ALMOST perfect family, courtney ruined it but kurt will always be missed and i know for a fact that there will be a few people who out of boredom become the next nirvana
Kurt we all will miss you forever you were a change to grunge music and you will never be forgotten

when you think about it,doesnt it seems kinda sad??? its almost been 20 years, and still i havent found any band that came after nirvana that are nearly as remarkable as them.usually somebody comes along that stands on the side of a remarkable band like them and it continuues and so on.and it did for alittle bit,but todays music just seems to have killed it,and now i just wonder, will somebody ever amaze us as much as nirvana, etc, ever again??
youknowy
