nice run how much hp and torque u making man? im gonna get my toyota on the road soon its a 88 with the 22re bored .060 over high performance cam, head with over sized valves, forged internals and chipped but hopefully fixing to get turbo and intercooler soon which would be badass just gotta put shims on head to lower compression and i hope it does good on the street
@bdrturbo It was nothing personal, i mean that's an AWESOME truck you've got there, assuming it's yours but... vid.. idk ANYWAY I'm just saying you can do more lol aim for 9 even :P
Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but wasn't paradise racing claiming to have the fastest Toyota Truck on the planet, I believe the site said "Fastest 2RZ on the planet 7. something 1/4 mile."
I doubt it, 7 second vehicles are hard to get away with driving on streets. They don't seem to have any footage but Luis definitely builds some mean Toyotas. Do you own the truck in the video? Its one nice truck, I always love to see fellow Toyota truck enthusiasts do it big on the track.
Streetability with a 7second Toyota Pickup with a 2JZ swap??
wellllll if you think about it it's a pretty straightforward vehicle. 2JZ can put down alot of power, plus the pickup's extremely light chassis (less weight means less power needed for speed)
so im not sure how much power he has, probably 700-800hp? plus the light 2100ish chassis of the truck. it can be streetable
Well, anything with 700-800 hp will idle funny and run best within a given RPM range, low range as needed in traffic and such it would not be comfortable to drive at the very least. There's also the issue of pickups having such light rear ends. To put it into perspective, my Tacoma's 2RZ has 145 at the crank, approx 110 at the wheels if I'm lucky and if the road is wet, it spins the tires easily from a regular start. It will also spin em' when shifting in a straight line. Imagine with 700hp!lol.
of course of course i can agree on that. that motor is definetly race motor. if soemone got VVT-i turbo head to work in conjunction with all the fancy mods they got, im sure they can utilize the VVT-i for some nice idle.
and as for rear end, there's alot that can be done lol. wider rear end and tires (flares and tire upgrade and LSD!
as for my 22re, 135lb at the crank..... hm.... idk how many at the wheels, much less. 116ish hp btw.
You do have a point there my friend. Tires, gearing, and an LSD will definitely aid in this as will variable valve timing. I can't wait until I can add a few of these mods to my own truck.
i'm slowly trying to find a job, im just a youngster but im getting a list of whats needed first for a 2JZ toy pickup. it took my truck 50-60 seconds to reach 100mph with a 0-60 of 9 seconds lol. KINDA fast.... but im sure with a 700hp 2jz... it'd be FAST lol.
Any links to those vids? I have an intake, msd wires, catless factory exhaust, and a grounding kit but that doesn't do much. I'm going to get some headers soon.

How much did it cost to swap that bad boy in there? I just bought the 2jzgte from j spec-auto. I have an 85 yota you think it will be tough?
cmwz1000 4 years ago
I don't even want to know how much it cost me. The conversion was about $5000 the upgrades are a different story...
bdrturbo 4 years ago
Well that puts a damper on things. Should I convert it to a single instead of a twin turbo setup?
