  • Year zero isn't rebellious enough for y'all? Heh listen close.

  • my favorite album is the discography.

  • My fav albums have to be PHM, The Downward Spiral, The Slip, and Year Zero. Trent keep doing what you're doing.

  • I've seen NIN live, at the front row of the mosh pit in '99, it was fucking awesome. Trent Reznor is a great artist who believes in his work.

  • the only bad albums that he has imo, are YZ and Ghosts (at least the first 2 cds) everything else has been great, although nothing has topped the Fragile imo. i loved DS, but compared to other dark industrial records like SP Last Rights, PIG's Sinsation, or Ministries Dark Side of the Spoon, its pretty average as far as a "dark" industrial record, nothing bad about that tho, its still enjoyable as hell!

  • its not that he has no aggression left its just he is happier now, ppl need to stop acting like its a bad thing.

  • @obscureface It is a bad thing. Be depress and angry Trent and make another pissed off and rebellious album!!

  • his music reflects the state of mind he is in, i would like to hear a more depressed and angry album again but i care more for Trent's well being, I'm just glad he is still alive and making music.

  • One day this man would say, "I'd like to thank the academy..." Try hopping in a time machine and convincing my 14 year old self of THAT

  • @WeMustBeStopped amen to that. i was at my mom's house while she watched the oscars, and she asked who trent was, and when i reminded her of closer, she rolled her eyes and said, "they're not gonna give him an oscar for that kind of music." when they called his name, i laughed my ass off and cheered on, then told my mom, "genius musicianship is not limited to uncommon profanity." she got so pissed, because she knows that's a quote said by mozart, her favorite composer lol.

  • @serpentisma cool story bro

  • @zorac91 I totally know what you mean. That is why I always am looking for new live NIN audio for my i pod. In alot of his shows he does different versions of songs and most of the time there just as good, if not better than the originals!!! His scope and invention is unrivaled, when it comes to badass music!!!!

  • god i want a man like Reznor.. <3

  • "I WANT TO DO SOMETHING THAT MATTERS!!!"

    Fuck, how I love NIN

  • The one album that changed music for me, and everything else! I was 14 when this album came out and I was sucked to my portable cd player jamming!

  • For anyone that says his music does not go hard anymore, listen to his latest shit. For example With Teeth live, the bassline on that song, OMG. I though it was badass on the album. But the live version kicks the album's versions ass all the way down the street.

  • ... And "happiness in slavery", when the upload?.

    Greetings

  • A true artist. I think Trent is good at shattering cliches within the music industry.

  • WOOT!

  • After trent sobered up you could hear a definite change in his music, but i still enjoy with teeth and on. i think they are all great albums, and his newer stuff is amazing live along with his light show. They are not mere concerts but mind bending experiences, truly one of the greatest artists of our time.

  • @rkid2434 you said it, ''mind bending experiences''. I absolutely agree, NIN takes their concerts to a whole new level, they know how to adapt their new music to the show they are presenting (eerie sounds as in ghosts and you got a futuristic concert) you know what I mean?

  • The drum beat is catchy as fuck.

  • acs36myheartbleeds-Trent played this exactly the way this album was designed, in his own unique time-he knows exactly what he's doing, every second,(even when he's not sober-as in this video-I Luv him wasted-he expresses himself more freely)-sorry,sad, but TRUE!!! LUV U TRENT!!!!!!

  • i fucking love this song

  • Just because you're not as fond of his new material doesn't make it someone else's music. Get over yourself.

  • Classic!

  • I love when he screams like that. so amazing sounding!!!

  • I actually agree with this in some ways.I definitely think the recent releases from NIN shouldn't have been called NIN.I would say With Teeth onward were drastically different from what I came to know as NIN growing up. And in fact a little too "poppy".I liked Ghosts I-V but other than that NIN has'nt come out with music comparable to their early works in well over 10 years. Suffering for the art makes it more romantic and won my heart. Probably because it was sincere.

  • Comment removed

  • Trent stated in an interview during the With Teeth era that it was more difficult for him to write more pop-oriented songs. He challenged himself with The Hand That Feeds, for instance.

  • "shouldn't have been called NIN"

who the fuck are u moron to say that??

  • I agree with him. It was a totally different feel and sound after "the frigile" I would feel better as a NIN fan if all his work after the fragile was just a Trent Reznor side project.

  • who the fuck are u too?? his mom? fuck off

  • okay, first, anyone who says he doesn't have balls anymore is an idiot. he released two albums for free, which hardly any well known artist has done. and yes, the downward spiral tour was awesome. i saw it for myself. but to grow as a musician, one has to reach outside of their comfort zone. year zero, ghosts, the slip, and even, yes, the fragile, were great successions of his work. if you want to hear the tds again, just get the cd over and over again. his last tour was fantastic. done.

  • im not saying he doesnt have balls anymore. he has balls, he has balls. They are just Old Balls. And his balls have probably taken a beating over the years. And in order to keep his balls he had to reposition them.

  • hahaha win

  • @mclarenv12 i don't even

  • @serpentisma Very well said.

  • @serpentisma i love you

  • @kutcharaninfan love you too.

  • @serpentisma and I'm forever alone......

  • @serpentisma lets not forget hes actually done a original score for a movie now

  • @jgray1110 at the time i wrote my original comment, "the social network" was still just a hear-say talk about. watching him walk up to the stage to accept his oscar was awesome to see. i would have liked, also, to have seen him nominated for "girl with the dragon tattoo," but i guess you can't always get what you want. always happy to see he's still hard at work making music in his own way.

  • I don't care what anyone says. I saw them 3 times this year. Friday May 29th at the Charter one Pavilion in Chicago And August 28th and 29th at The Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. And wow they are still just as fucking heavy and they played this song along with a lot of shit from TDS and The Fragile. I think Trent is still just as good live, and it made it even better that they changed some of the songs up likeI do not want this. While Robin is playing the guitar solo Trent is playin awesome piano.

  • NIN is so heavyy!

  • This is so RAW. He will NEVER do a tour of this caliber ever, ever again. The Self Destruct Tour will ever remain one of the best tours a rock band ever had in the history of music.

  • no way dude did you see them on the lights in the sky tour? amazing...

  • Wrong. He played TDS beginning to end no breaks Sunday at Webster Hall. Amazing. I was at this show in '94 too and this will always be a highlight.

  • uhhh fragility tour????

ya....that tour was definition of top notch.

  • Pssshyeah, whatever. *shakes head* oh you poor young "Fragile" fans. A lot of you were too young to remember the greatness of the "Hate" tour or their Lollapalooza tour back in 90'. Naw, naw, naw....Self Destruct Tour in 1994 CAN'T BE BEATEN. Straight up!

  • i love u

  • I WANNA DO SOMETHING

    THAT

    MAATTTTEERRRSSS!!!!

fucking badass song, I hope to see it at the Toronto show.

  • This is the NIN i remember. Saw them in concert 4 times before 94. I feel honored.

  • Man I fucking wish I was born around the same time as Trent, so I could have gone to all the early NIN shows :(

  • I agree, I have seen them 6 times now, unfortunately none of those shows were during the self-destruct tour, a.k.a. NIN's most chaotic tour!

  • YOU DON'T KNOW JUST HOW I FEEL!!!!!!

  • how Big these show was.looks like synths and drums were at the second floor of a building...

  • yeah its a whammy... for sure

  • ***Trent is God***

  • I fucking love the synth in this song!!!

  • fuck yes,me too.

  • i love the piano in their songs

  • this song defined the theme of the album, i love it

  • This is my favorite NIN song.

  • love it. I absolutely love this ablum, considering its the only NIN one I own, but I've been searching like a rabid fangirl for more. I listen to this on the bus to school and people are like, "Do you realize we can hear that?" I reply, "Enjoy". Its an eargasmic song <3333

  • I wounder what that effect was

    start at 4:20

    wah pedal?

  • sounds more like a whammy

  • Yeah, It's a whammy pedal.

  • bravo! awesome live performance!

  • I love The Downward spiral album, and this is one of my favourite songs off that album. It sounds awesome live, I hope Trent does it next time he comes to melbourne, can't wait to see Nine Inch Nails again.

  • wow... :)

  • _Rare song in live, great !

  • i've never loved a musician like i love him. he's a complete man.

  • Did'nt some of this tour come out on VHS? They should really release song from this tour on DVD some day soon! I haven't seen much of NIN live. The old days were when Trent was at his best so angry and crazy on tour.

  • i FUCKING LUV THIS MAN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDD!!

HE IS THE FUCKING BEST MUSICIAN IN THE DAME WORLD....man after he dies maybe he will then be put in the hall of fame..someday trent someday u will be in there...but you wont be able to see it.. or will you?

  • every track on the downward spiral album sends chills down my spine and makes my hair stand. Its pure amazing.

  • @torYxx I think each song, though, is best only when listening to the album in it's entirety. Standing alone, Big Man w/ a Gun is a pretty stupid song. Just sayin'. It always bothered me...we usually flipped the tape over after this song was done, which also omitted most of the slow-you-down mood change of Warm Place. That said, I do think it's compositionally one of the greatest albums that was ever aimed at rock fans EVER. But you really need to listen to the whole thing together.

  • awsome song..dont you tell me how i feel!!! just love it

  • that is a great ending

  • trent always gives the energy right back to the crowd

  • I thoroughly enjoy the disturbing feeling this song gives me.

  • Awesome song.

Funniest lines: "I want to fuck everyone in the world. I want to do something that matters." (I dunno, I always thought he meant these two together as the same thing.)

  • Hmm...I was a bit troubling for me to admit, that, of all his songs, this is one of the ones I relate to the most. Especially the ending, something about too much ambition driving you a little crazy...And to think, I used to not like this song very much...Definitely is one of the underrated ones. Cheers to The Downward Spiral (and The Fragile, still my all-time fave album). :)

  • gosh its funny how i never liked this song much until recently i actually listened to it carefully and its easily one of the best tracks on the album :)

  • I always loved this song... Def' one of the best tracks on TDS along with Ruiner and The Becoming....

  • (You're my hero, by the way. I'd offer marriage, if I believed in it...Cheers, and thanks for nourishing my semi-obsession with this band!)

  • i totally agree with Ruiner and The Becoming being the other two tracks to be equal or better :) we have scarily similar taste ;)

  • Well the reason you could consider them to be equal or better is that they're all like one song. that's somethin gI like about NIN. All the songs blend together.

  • true they're part of a process the character goes through etc...but after so long i'm still not sick of them which makes them so great for me :)

  • That`s probably because the whole album is sorta conceptual, so the songs have to be linked together, because he`s telling a story in a way, so the songs have to feel as if part of an entity that they form. At least, that`s how i see things.

  • @hoes87 omg, me too. i just did that and now i love it.

  • *It was a bit troubling* is what I would've said, had I proofread...

  • TDS is an awesome cd. PHM and The Fragile are my fav tho NIN is badass.

  • so soooo true

  • the best track of the spiral with all the nietzschean influence

  • thank you!

  • One of the best tracks of "The Downward Spiral"

  • Sorry . . . I was trying to respond to hannibalsloat's comment, but YouTube's f*cking up. My apologies.

  • In terms of lives shows . . . word! In terms of music material . . . somewhat.

  • i wish i could have seen them live back then. i saw them in 06, but i think they would've been better back in 94. but i was only three then, so...

  • fuck-injg amaze-ing!!!

  • Self-Destruct Tour era is the sh*t!!!!

  • what show (city) is this from?

  • This show is San Jose '94

  • cool thanks for the vid more 94 era pls..:)

  • Hah I ripped the same performance a few years ago for someone. Wonder if the source is the vid I ripped, or someone ripped the same concert also.

  • Yes thank you! More 1994 stuff please!!
