I've been to the memorial in Washing DC, and also to see the traveling memorial when it was at an airfield in Connecticut. Very moving both times.

Worst War for all was WWII with 62,000,000 killed. Russia lost a generation of men with 20,000,000 dead.

People like Dick Cheney don't care a fig about the soldier who goes off to war to die. Five draft deferments and the last one he wrote as his reason that he had more important things to do. Yet he could easily lie us into Iraq to send soldiers off to their deaths without adequate equipment or protection. Sorry for the rant. But, I think soldiers should be used intelligently and sparingly, not as political pawns. Their mission should be protection not as political footballs.
