  • What Song Are You Singing?

  • Very good quality recording.Which martin is this?did you record the guitar stereo with microphones?

  • yeh nice song, sounds good, only 200 bucks wow

  • Is that the shock that came with the Mic? Is it the spider or is it a different brand? I know the spider is S3 is $199 which is outrageous in my opinion. But is it the only one that works or would a different brand work as well?

  • Damn.. I was upset the song ended so quickly. Thanks for the vid, and keep up the good work!

  • Can you attach this mic to a computer, along with an XLR to USB?

  • Sounds good but I wish any 'mic sample' video would always have a common SM57 or the like for comparison. Your recording is very full and well mastered.

  • What song are you singing i cant find it in your website

  • did that shockmount come with the mic when you brought it?

  • This mic sounds pro, or is it just your mixing skills.

  • nice song.....

  • @syndgr834 Thanks bro

  • @jroye82 great song!

  • Hey i saw your website congratulations your famous! with disney espn etc. but what song is that that your singing in the backround?

  • what song is it!

  • Are you saying 68 inches or 6 to 8 inches?

  • what software did u use to record and mix this

  • do the blue mics plug into computers

  • @liltreitsago The Blue Yeti and the Snowball are USB mics so they do plug into your computer. The more expensive ones like the Spark and the Blue Bird are xlr inputs. They can be converted with Blue's Blue Icicle

  • @liltreitsago no but you can get a BLUE Icicle USB Microphone Interface than you can

  • Good video and song. I use to have a Bluebird into a Digidesign 003 and it sounded great. I just ordered a mbox mini package. I'm going to upgrade the mic later. Thinking about the spark, or the rode nt1 something in that price range.

  • Man you have some great vocals :)

  • Simply awesome bro

  • You have awesome talent.

  • Dude stop using Pro Tools and get Cubase/Nuendo if you really want to get into the recording industry, I can tell you from experience that n00bs coming in from a Pro Tools background are frowned upon a LOT.

  • @macgeek1972 how much is nuendo?

  • @macgeek1972 As much as i go for use what your personal preference is, saying that Pro-Tools is frowned upon is quite a huge lie. I'm not saying its the best, but it is certainly not the worst and has been used in industry standard situations for years. In my opinion Pro-Tools is better than Cubase, Nuendo i have no idea as i've never used it (Though i shall go look at it). Maybe your thinking of Pro-Tools hardware, in which yes, its all pretty crude, but blacklionaudio make it better :)

  • @macgeek1972 Actually your wrong, Protools is used in 99% of all high end studios. I know this cause it's what I do for a living everyday for the past 20 years. But I dislike Avid the company , I will say that.

  • Is it phantom powered?

  • @Mr1997mk Every condenser microhphone is phantom powered, so yes this one is also.

  • @BokorugroRR not all!

  • @Audiowithalex Based on the principle of how it works, it needs voltage. In a condenser mic, a thin foil is one conductor of a capacitor, and the other is fixed. The moving of the air moves the moving conductor, and it makes the capacity change in the circuit, therefore there is a change in voltage, and therefore a signal. A capacitor does not work without voltage generated by phantom power or a battery. But I've just realized that you might mean the battery-powered microphones :)

  • @BokorugroRR Yes, that is how a condenser microphone works, but You're forgetting about Electret condenser microphones. These have a permanently charged back-plate eliminating the need for battery or any kind of voltage. You've probably never heard of this type because its most commonly found in Lav mics. learn something new every day ;)

  • @Audiowithalex Man, you're right, I forgot them! :D And I even have a small industrial electret mic for a light-organ, but I never used that. :)

  • is there a hiss in the background when you record?

  • Which Audio Interface would you suggest, Digidesign MBox Mini or Avid MBox Mini???

  • @patchr420 Check out the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, looks really sweet

  • @patchr420 The 3rd generation Avid Mbox's are WAY better. I know because I own one. :)

  • What pre amp an audio interface do you use?

  • @BuckTown17 he says in the video he uses an avid mbox mini.

  • @BuckTown17

He says it in his video. It goes into an Mbox mini from AVID. Using an API 550a EQ (cracked I guarantee lol)

  • @BuckTown17 Avid Mbox Mini :)

  • avid mbox mini sounds really good man even with the spark. would you reccomend the avid mbox over the focusrite dsp 24?

  • it requires 48v power while my preamplifier has 15v , how I can overcome this problem ?

  • is this a usb mic? and if not, how would we record with it?

  • @shaunalee2238 nah it a xlr mic & you will need to buy like a audio interface or go cheap with the blue icicle its only like $50 just plug the mic to it and it hooks up to the computer and your ready to go but if you want a usb mic get the blue yeti

  • ok i rap so i should press dat buton on da back or leave it alone.

  • Does this need a power supply or what im so confused i ordered mine yesterday and its on its way so do i absolutely need a power supply or what?

  • @joedynamite1230 Yes it needs a phantom power, because is a condenser mic

  • is this mic good for rapping in a home studio

  • I just got a shure sm57 and i am looking at the blue spark mic. Im hopeing its the perfect choice instead of a regular large diaphram condenser and i was wondering how it does on vocals, acoustic guitar, drum overhead, and as a second mic to my sm57 to mic a guitar amp I know blue does alot of good mics and im hopeing this can be my main vocal and acoustic condenser

  • im a hip hop artist and i love your song!!! dude will u do a hook for me? on a song? you doing a hook and a simple riff! c:

  • The song is great man. Do you have more tracks? I'm thinking on buying the Blue Spark.

  • Love the song! I just bought a Spark and Im looking forward to recording with it

  • It's hard to find a groovy little company like Blue anymore. It's one of the few respectable mainstream music companies left. Great products for great prices, simple as that.

  • You're definitely inspired by conor oberst

  • @lilpja It could be the pre amp you are running it through....or you dont have a full 48v setup which is making you have to blast the amp to get it loud enough.

  • Why aren't more people on Cubase? Just curious and may be ignorant.

  • @renshoota I'm not a big fan of cubase. But I'm trying to figure out why more people arent using Reaper....

  • @9ScubaSteve1 yeah reaper rox..........

  • Sounds fantastic. Thanks for posting. Just getting into home recording and you sold me on this mic.

  • Comment removed

  • hey i have this mic and i also have pro tools 8 le

suggestions on plug ins and presents thanx

  • I have a Martin HD-28 which as you know is a Bass heavy acoustic. I want a good mic to record it and also record my electric guitar 2x12 cab with. I just saw this mic. Some others I have been looking at are the AT-4040, the Cascade Fathead Ribbon, This Mic and the one above it that is Blue. What are your thoughts?

  • Yea I do too! Is this your own song or cover? :p

  • Hey i really like this song.....but i can't find it... can you give me a link or something so i can get this song?

  • how much does it cost?

  • Hey dude i would love the instrumental for this track for background mussic in my videos! Ill give you all the credot

  • This is the best video about this mic I have seen! The audio is amazing! I'm getting me one real soon! Thanks, man!

  • what recording software do you use? i use audacity and its just "ok" and i need a good software.

  • i dont get how you get your vocals to sound so good. How does it sound waaay different than at the beginning of the video. What did you do different?

  • Im in love with your song <3 ;)

  • 6 to 8 inches away..

  • Vocals 68 inches away? what???

  • this is a great tune man!

  • hey, I just bought this mic, and I have a little problem with it. It's really quiet when i try to record with it (Through an Mbox 2 mini into Protools). I have the input just about all the way up and its still really quiet. I also made sure that phantom power is on.. Does anybody know how to fix this?? Thanks...

    By the way, great song

  • @JoWack

    Phantom Power enabled?

  • @Lgw1984 yes, phantom power was on... but i figured it out, it was just a bad/old XLR cable. Thanks

  • Where can I download The Song !!??

  • What preamp are you using? The one in the m box? and what model martin? Thanks

  • bro you have the exact same setup up that im currently trying to get!! blue spark with mbox 3!! dope!! i just have one question. do you have any acoustic treatment or sound proofing in the room that you record in or is it pretty bare? because the room i record in is definitely not ideal for recording. lol does the blue spark make the recordings sound pretty warm and full right off the bat??

  • Are you using an actual API or the Waves plug-in? I assume you notched up the pick frequencies at 4K or so?

  • So I just decided to check out some random microphones, because I'm addicted to buying microphones lol.. but I have to say. Your song is amazing! Its really refreshing to hear someone make such a phenomenal song. Vocals, guitar, all sound great.. you recorded them quite nicely as well. Bravo!

  • sounds pro bro, no lie. but hey, what do you think of the MXL V67G, have you tried or heard of it?

  • does it have usb connection????

  • @843SwagTeam your supose to connect it to an m audio interface/fast track to give it power, then the fastrack goes in to the comp via usb, and the interface needs phantom power too if you wanna make the mic work, thats why its called a condenser mic

  • hey man what do you have the mic running off what pre amp and audio interface do you use :)))

  • Such a good song man. Do you have an EP or LP for sale anywhere?

  • @JocasseeFender haha no you didn't sound like it. thanks for the tips. ill look it up (:

  • The pure volume link didnt work but dont worry I found your page through the search bar. Awesome stuff man.

  • Hey man this is your

Original song? If so I would love to play it in my up coming talent show, Do you Mind tabbing it out or telling me the chords?

  • dude the song is really really good

  • dude the song rocks

  • @biggaflex2gs Thanks!

  • @jroye82 dude can i hear a song u created with the mic?

  • i have windows 7, but i want a free program. Is it possible to get pro tools free? Or should i just stick with the free version of audacity?

  • @Timegirl3924 Sick with free programs, unless you have the cash to buy protools wich is about $500

  • @selfmade17 thanks for the tip! cause im on a tight budget!

  • Hey Jonathan - I have this microphone and I'm have a really hard time making my Taylor GA4 not boom the heck out of it. I'm pointed at the 11th fret or so, and the only way I can prevent a sonic boom of mud around 200 Hz is to wheel back from the mic, which makes the guitar then sound rather thing. Suggestions, since you got a great tone?

  • I have the same mic... But it's so hard to touch, what program do you use? If you reply back, you would be a big life saver. Thanks!

  • What camera and program are you using? This vid looks very clean bro...

  • GAH! I am setting up my studio in my dorm at college (im going for audio production) and I thought I had the mics i wanted, since im on a serious budget...changed my mind, saving up money for two of these it looks like -_-

  • blue makes great mics, sounds good

  • sounds alot like Bright Eyes =)

  • Awesome!

    Thank's for the test!

Where have you find the Cello/Violin and Piano vst?!

And also : Do you think bluebird is better than Spark ?

    Thank's!

  • Does someone know how this Mic compares to the Rode nta-1?

  • pricing?

  • @DarkChildMuzik $188 on Amazon

  • Just out of curiousity, what preamp did you use to record this track?

    It sounds damn good!

  • how muuch is this mic bro???

  • Sweet demo, and nice song!

  • Great song man... and it sounds good too! Im gonna have to get me one of these mics.

  • Nice. l would've liked it if you told us the diaphragm size and price, although one of my students told me its 2 bills.

    Thumbs up.

  • sounds damn near as good as the baby bottle. . the song is great too... good video

  • going to order this mic tomorrow the song sounds great really sold me on the mic only suggestion is maybe some deessing unless its just me sounds like it could use a bit

  • Awesome audio clip. The mic is good but your recording skills are excellent

  • Really dig the song! And the mic sounds great, thanks for posting the video. Keep it up!

  • @jflint87 Thanks so much!

  • Do you recommend pro tools or logic

  • @kooper745 either or will work for you! I like the midi sequencer in logic more tho.

  • @kooper745 I use both logic and pro tools and pro tools has a lot more features. but logic is still bad ass

  • What model Martin guitar was that? I love the bluebird and most of my Martins have a better sound in the bluebird I have than what I heard, but I need to know what model you're using to be sure of the difference.

  • does the blue bird worth the money or the spark does the job ?

  • @Soaresound ill say, get the spark!

  • What program is that?

  • @DieVersitie Pro Tools 8

  • @jroye82 Actually pro tools 9 .

  • what is the diference between the bluebird and the blu spark?

  • which one of these microphones would you recommend? blue baby bottle, blue bluebird, or this mic?

  • @OLDharnock I've used the Bluebird as well. If you have the extra 100 bucks to spend I say grab it.

  • @OLDharnock I recommend the the bluebird if you want to record vocals,im thinking of buying it!

  • Am thinking about this mic for vocals, could you please upload a track of just your voice singing into the mic?

Been thinking about either the Spark, the Bluebird or the Baby Bottle.....I want to know which is best suited for male vocals.

  • nice

  • It sounds great. I just got this microphone and I'm loving it so far and it looks awesome of course. Great video and really nice song too. Thanks!

  • thanks for the help =)=) i was thinking about to buy the m audio profire 610.. what do you think about that?

  • hello jonathan =) i like your music , but in purevolume the sound is really better.. in youtube this song lost a litle bit of its dynamics right ? listen, i'm a musician too, and i'm thinking about to buy this beautifull mic..so tell , me, is this a good mic? what set up do you use in your acustic recordings?

  • @Soaresound Make sure you watch / listen on the HD version via youtube? Whatever process YT puts audio through on here isn't too great. You're going to lose some detail.

I'm using the mic on all of my stuff now. Go buy it! :D

I am actually picking up an API lunchbox here next week. So my signal chain will be. Blue Spark > API 55A > Mbox. Other than than that it's all about the room and the guitar. Every Guitar is different as well as every player. Picks will drastically change the sound too.
