Hakka dialect never die people, im Hakka 2, but i was borned in Vietnam, my family imigrated to US since i was 8 years old, i still remember in my town, there are alot of Hakka people live there... and they speak Hakka more any other languages out there. And my family only speak Hakka with us, they wont never ever let us forget this language, that's why i still could keep my native language actively, and it'll pass on the next generation..
I agree, sadly Hakka is a dying language. That is why I get sooo excited when I get the chance to have a fluent Hakka conversation with someone outside my family, lol.
your not alone dude. my family speak to other people outside cantonese. but speak to a few people in hakka. tho not many people speak hakka, it's a dying language im afraid

Hakka is simlar to Cantonese like Portugese and Spanish. Spanish and Portugese understand little bit of each other language.

@ted2924 Indeed, the words are really similar, it's just the intonation that differs, which is why I can speak and understand a little bit of both.
