Whether you're separatist or not, Quebecer or not (which I am), you can bitch all you want, but you can't deny the fact that Quebec would be fucked without the help and money from the Canadian Government.
Yeah, just let Quebec separate and cut all funding (you know, since it's a separate nation). They'll come back once they realize how much money the federal government has been pumping into that province, no strings attached.
We will never get along....all this is going nowhere....lets let Quebec become a french nation within North-America, collect his taxes, vote is own laws.....and on the other hand let Canada go forward with what he wants to do....these 2 nations will never get along as long as they share the same country. And if you learn the Canadian history, you will note that it would be the normal thing to do.
And for peoples that think that Quebec always ask money...go read on the act of Union of 1840.
@MrSpouit except majority of Quebecers don't want to be a separate nation. That's why the referendum was a no vote. The separatists are a small part, and should not be allowed as a federal party when they represent a tiny fraction of the countries constituents.

@wallborrow History is subjective and changes with each persons own perception. Let's also not forget the history between the First Nations and the early French settlers. It's not so happy go lucky like you would have me believe. Perhaps you too should review history? Either way, the separatists have failed 2 referendums and will most likely fail another. Quick lesson on Quebec politics : Harper and Flaherty aren't changing the funding provided to Quebec like they said they would 2 years ago. Why? 1-Jean Charest publicly took position against Harper in the last federal election. 2- Know what Charest did with the last federal perequation payment? He cut taxes with it. He wanted to keep an electoral promise but Harper wasn't so pleased about that. So Charest made 2 mistakes that will cause Quebec to have an added deficit on top of the poor economy.
Hell, I'd be happy if it all went to paying off Quebec's debt, and if he made some average reforms that would lead to minor improvements in Quebec's fiscal performance. Ie enough to not be in debt.
