I'll try to explain to you; There is a Salary Cap in place in the N.F.L. and the Colts were not in position to sign Marv at his age to what the full amout would count against the Colts Cap. The Colts saved $6 million against the Cap by releasing him. They tried to offer less but he would accept that offer. I don't think anyother team will offer him that amount of money either, but you never know, we'll see. The Colts left the door open if Marv want to come back at a lower Salary! We all hate it

they couldnt afford to keep him. getting rid of him opened up $7.4 million ahead of the salary cap. harrison asked to be released & they grudgingly accepted. we might get him again at a lower price even this season but irsay wants him to finish his career as a colt. it was the smartest thing because hes been falling off the past 2 seasons & anthony gonzalez is playing great in his place in 2 short seasons
