she's basically talking about her schoolwork, why she's going back to school (she just feels like it's the right thing to do, especially since she thinks acting is kind of boring), and that she's majoring in directing, because it will help her in her acting.
she makes a better Sayuri for the Geisha movie. She looks international enough to play a Japanese person. Ziyi did fine but she looks too typically Chinese. Zhao can pass for any asian.
I agree with you. I think that she could pass as a Korean more than anything. She looks like a mixed asian, not full Chinese but either way she's beautiful!!
@thinker7594 It's offensive to racially stereotype a facial characteristic of a person and place a person to a country based on a look alone. Have you looked at a map of China? You would change your ignorant mindset if you had been to China...
@gariadara You passed off as an ignorant and silly person. Not all Chinese look typically Chinese as you specifically recklessly pointed it out. Check out the map of China and its populace makeup.
@corigalangal10 But I didn't say all chinese look typically chinese. I said Zhang Ziyi looks typically chinese. I know the populace makeup of China.....cus I am actually part of its populace.
@gariadara The whole context of how you implied in your comment presumely was very confusing. Take Zhang Ziyi for instance, for you she doesn't she look Japanese or Korean enough to play a convincing role. Neither general population of Japanese fall in the look department as Vicky nor all Chinese in Zhang. Well, i must say you surprised me to claim being part of China..
@corigalangal10 I was stating my opinion that if people saw Vicky in the street without knowing her, it's safe to say they may be harder pressed to place her race. Whereas if Zhang strolled down the street, people would have an easier time guessing her nationality.
@gariadara Still, by general perception is very shallow. I've come from a country where many Chinese women have remarkably pretty features like Vicky and would be very offended to say the opposite. Trust me.
@corigalangal10 I never commented on prettyness. simply how easily one can expect someone to be from a certain nationality by features. I actually don't regard Vicky as more or less pretty than Ziyi. There are Japanese actors who look less stereotypically japanese and can pass for any type of East Asian too. It's not a contest between features.
Proudly, one of the most precious treasures of China! She is beautiful, talented and most important of all (from what I can deduce) a good human being. It's a tough business, show business, and I thing she is a fighter and a survivor. I wish her all the best.
did u know she was from a very poor town like me... if it wasnt for my mum i would b living in my old life...there's no nothing...no cars, no flush toilets, no roads, all mud, even inside the house its still mud...I am so grateful for my mum...
but the director of "huan zhu ge ge" saw her. and told her if she can loose weight, she can star in that drama. and so she did. and became famous as she is today.
could someone tell me what they discuss about zhao wei..i dnt understand chiness.. :)

@corigalangal10 "Take Zhang Ziyi for instance, for you she doesn't she look Japanese or Korean enough to play a convincing role."
I never commented on Korean looks or Ziyi's convincingness in her role in any of my statements.
"Neither general population of Japanese fall in the look department as Vicky nor all Chinese in Zhang."
I said Vicky looked more "international." And again, I said Zhang looks typically Chinese. I never said "all" Chinese looked like her.
