Few PW fans are around but none do it as well as me his secret backup man. If he were on stage and sung a verse you would be hard pushed to tell who was singing if you were not looking. HATS OFF TO MY HERO.
just saw him do this on later with jools. the song was extended for the performance and just sounded so great. does anyone have that video. it put such a twist on this older recording. just fucking great!!!!!!!
I don't think Paul Weller is a god or a legend, Just a highly talented person. His Music is unbelievable. Some tracks from way back sound so fresh today. That is the sign of a good artist. Someone that can move through time and evolve.
He also brings something new to the table, while he also borrows riffs and hooks from other tracks, but the fact he does that and makes a new song around it shows his talent. Long Live Paul Weller!!!!
This is actually a good song. It's been awhile . Weller is a cunt. Someone once said if Weller hadn't had Foxton and Buckler he would never have made it.
22 dreams its not only the hits "have made up your mind" and "22 dreams". In each listening you discover amazing song as the elegant and involvent balad "empty dreams" the thought-provoking "sea spray" "all i wanna do" "night lights" "invisible" "wherever ye go"...all that song are good stuff, fantastic!
For the next person who sees this comment, I got this card at Starbucks for this song for free on iTunes. Since I don't like it, here's the code: E7WEKPW3WFW4
Charlie and Piers am a massive fan and im 16 too. When i say to my friends Paul Weller is fuckin quality they go 'Who?'. I know were your coming from he is awesome just need more youngens to appreciate his music more because he is quality!
hahaaa god, some people just dont have very good music taste do they, least us Weller fans no what were listening too, his music will guide us through life!
biggest theme! no matter if he got 20,30,40 years or already 50!!!! its so older...but doesn,t lost the talent. With pieces like that showing that its a fucking genius. It should be learn music os nowadays. Paul the boss, the fundamentalistic soul. ;D
q temazo! el q tuvo retuvo...con piezas como esta el ya "cincuenton" mas famoso de surrey demuestra q es un genio por mucho q pasen los años! Un fundamentalista soul,la tarareo a todas horas...
incredible that weller as a solo has eclipsed both the Jam's incredible run and TSC's original work - but he has. while this is lesser than his first solo, and probably wild wood, he does keep moving, doesn't he?
it's monday 2nd june, and i'm waiting in anticipation for 22 dreams to be delivered. the man is a god, and i'm willing to follow him, wherever he wants to take us.
What a brilliant comment...Totally with you on that..22 Dreams..yet another masterpiece..
What makes me laugh about the music industry/press is back in the early 90's they thought he'd dried up and died. How on earth can such talent do that?.The guy is a genius
I recently bought a limited edition book from Genesis Publications..a bit pricey but worth it.Its got a 12'' single of early Jam demos never heard before. If you want a copy of them on CD let me know man.........
Yeah, 22 Dreams is brilliant. Paul is probably the world's coolest man. My version of 22 Dreams is a beautiful Japanese papersleeve edition, but I've not seen it issued in other countries like this. HMV Japan probably ship overseas, as does Amazon Japan. Those interested in getting a copy in mini LP form like mine should check both sites. They have English search pages. It's just such a cool package.
A real shame that the great man turns out dull dross like this. It's just another forgettable song that will shortly be consigned to obscurity (remember 'Heliocentric'? No, nor does almost anyone!) In Weller's defence, he has set himself an impossible task in ever equalling his second album. Ah well, time to put on 'Shadow of the Sun' again.
One positive comment; At last! That PILLOCK Minchella has gone! No more silly, childish stage antics behind Weller's back.
thank god for WELLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
