  • R.I.P, xServe only available until Jan 31st, 2011...

  • unfortunately apple explains that they will not be developing a future version of the Xserve.

  • I concur, incredible machine...

    thanks for posting..

My first time seeing this type of machine..

  • ok so there is only 3 hdds and one ssd right ?

  • Assembled in Ireland :)

  • That's amazing how the psu comes out like that

  • Do you have a feeling that Apple is going to stop their xServer line? Or are they going to upgrade it in the near future? I am looking into buying one but, Macrumors says that an update or grade will be close. I am looking into making an MMO for the app store.

  • I love the music. It's like a computer fashion show. (Camera man to computer) "that's it darling, give it to me... oh fabulous sweetie" (Click click click click)

  • Is there a server out there sexier than this? I think not!

  • soo xserver is a

    mac....

    but jus waay more powerful?

  • Can anyone tell me why a Dell or HP Server is about 1000 Bucks cheaper than this Apple one? Well, maybe I know why - it's the expensive Apple Logo.

  • I want it!

  • why would you want an apple server in the first place????

  • @shorerydr10 OS X Server. BSD user land, MACH kernel, ZFS read support (cough), POSIX compliance, built-in cups, apache, etc. Yep, does everything FreeBSD, Linux or Windows (cough) could do. Why not get an Apple Server?

  • @shorerydr10 It's for the less technologically inclined groups (magazine publishers, graphic design companies, etc) who want a server that "just works", like their other Apple products, despite the price mark-up. So, most businesses would not want to buy one.

  • what is the xserve supposed to be?

  • Can i play games on this server?

  • Nice!

  • Nice close ups and great how you showed the mechanics

  • great review

  • incredible machine..

  • amazing

  • Huh. I wonder why they used solid block heatsinks, instead of ones with fins?

  • the air flows through the solid block heatsinks and thats what cools them better
