  • Did you use ground wallnut shells for a substreate? And do you have to have a seperate calcium dish or just put it on there meal worms?

  • That's why you have to do tons of research before buying a reptiles

  • so what is it if its not sand, please tell me! i want to have a geco soon :)

  • domt use sand

  • what is beter sand or repitle carpet plz tell me

  • @TheRickygecko i use reptile bark for my juvenile water dragon..

  • do you have to frequently change the calcium?

  • sand will impact and kill them! NOOO!!!!!!! *fast-forward sand spread-out* "dang it..."

  • @rikferd25 damn sand police, relax. video are 4 year old. and read his description.

  • @Proxor83 i did, no one can ever take a joke, can they?? spaz

  • I had the same water dish but its not so good for bigger reptiles like skinks or bearded dragons cause I got my bearded dragon that water dish and he stopped drinking from it so I now have it in my leopard gecko enclosure but besides that its really cool :)

  • you should never use sand because you can kill him

  • you have a bug in your tank

  • First off, sand is bad. I never put my guy on sand for the horror stories I've read and heard about. secondly you need a moist hide for shedding. Love the water thing but is it enough for both? I got mine a kidney shaped bowl that works well, he loves it. Also you need the day and night bulb and digital thermometer to keep an eye on the temps. Leos are from rocky desert areas, not sandy. Some fake plants and it should be great for them. I have done a ton of research since I got my gecko, and wi

  • thats an awsome set up u should keep it like that!!!

  • change substrate to repti carpet or paper towels, sand + leo= impaction!

  • @spartangecko1 if you feed it in a separate container then sand cant cause impaction. If i got a leo i would use sand but feed it outside the enclosure.

  • You should change your bedding of your tank . To something other than sand.

  • not sure sand is a great idea unless it is actual real sand not man made

  • Pretty cool get a reptile waterfall an also get a pack of moss for the cool hide get a day and night bulb and a small mealworm dish in case u forget to feed them or if they get hungry during the day... How much for all the substrate.

  • Sand isn't that bad I use sand I have 3 geckos all 4 years old and no problem with it. They live in the dessert and dessert has sand so all that impaction shit is true but rare to get in a gecko.;)

  • a 40 gal. breeder for 2 leos wow they might breed if u separate them for a little while just before the breeding season

  • I have a male gecko and a female gecko and just breeded have 9 new leopard geckos i have 6 females and 3 males selling males for £15 and selling females £20

  • neat set-up I loved it!

  • and honestly sand is not bad for them at that age....

  • yes a humid hide would be a grand idea!!

  • @deadlymason10 they say that but lots of geckos die there and leopard geckos live on hard rocky clay, not sand but you can use whatever you want i just wouldnt believe everything you hear

  • u need a humid hide

  • eighty bucks is this terrarium ?!

  • and this terrarium is perfect dude, :) switc your terrarium that it looks like in this video, just put more small rocks on sand :)=this is my advice, maybe you know better..

  • you says in description=i am not using sand !! ..ofcourse that YOU dont using, but your gecko like sand, and i mean -they using it on nature(but not so much like rocks),so better is sand then reptile carpet,...BUT BEST =little sand on floor and rocks on sand..........

  • @deadlymason10 you go to pet co? all their service is crappy for me but thats just me. i trust petsmart

  • Not to disappoint you but sand isnt good for lizards cause it can stop their system and it can get lodged inside them but anyways cool tank

  • nice set up

  • he is fast

  • cool

  • can i just use a heat pad whitout a heat lamp?

  • Pretty nice, =o but sand?! :/

  • sand kills

  • @jortiz612000 why does sand kill ?

  • @samverwimp they inhale, and it gets in their chest, so they die, and, they can eat it and it gets in their intestines.

  • its nice check mines

  • I have a leopard gecko and i use sand..does it really kill them? i got my sand from the pet shop and they said it would be fine:S

  • i got the same water dish :D but is for my baby iguanas...

  • Nice vid... is that lizard litter?

  • nice

  • What type of sand did you use?

  • I have 2 leopard geckos and a 10 gallon tank is to small and how much is a 20 gallon tank and where do u get it? thx

  • @bmwm3fly no its not too small if u do want a bigger 1 tho go too jacks or petsmart they have bigger tanks

  • he will not kill him.. tthere were crickets in there.. wow your bright. good video :)

  • deff got ripped off for 80 bucks

  • pretty cool...he can use sand just as long as it is calcium sand

  • @Brunsboy17 no u cant it can still die

  • He dosent use sand read the descrition

  • 1:30 you can see a cricket or something

  • don't use sand.

  • Ya you probably shouldnt use sand

  • eighty bucks? you got ripped.

  • @TheNeonTide yea at petco its a dollar per gallon.... he did get ripped

  • @TheNeonTide I got a 55 gal with the screen lid and stand for 100;;;; yea RIPPED!! but I use the 55 for my bp. my leo is just a baby in a 10 for now.

  • @TheNeonTide Where do you live? Probably in some small town. I've seen 50 gallon tanks going for $129.99 here in soflo. $80 for a 40 gallon is normal I'd say.

  • @TheNeonTide how did he get ripped at petsmart they sell ones those big for almost $200

  • @budwiser409 then dont go to petsmart.

  • @TheNeonTide Actually no he didn't its a 40 gallon Tank. To be honest thats a good price.

  • @BrysonnTV i got a forty gallon tank for forty dollars at a reptile show

  • @TheNeonTide most 20 gallons are that price...

  • Nice set up, check out my custom one of a kind viv.

  • It's not that difficult to breed them but you need to remember that they don't normally breed until mid to late winter and into the early to late spring. Just wait they should mate. But you tank has to be the right temp if you keep in order for them to want to breed. It's best to keep the tank temp as about 78-83 for female hachtlings, 86-89 for males and 83-86 for an equal chance of either. But good luck on the breeding. I hope you have good eggs

  • humid hide????

  • I looooove that water dish im going to stop by petsmart and try to find one.

  • i keep my gecko on sand nd hes perfectly healthy

  • dude really they cant mait untill u leav them alone and put like alot of plants so the male dosent get shy like so he dosent see noone and then in like when u put a criket the point is just leav them alone...... ok

  • Right people, never listen to the advice people give you on youtube comments because most of the time they are wrong...either talk to someone that is a experienced owner or read a book!

  • this week at petco there selling 40 gallon breeders for fourty bucks!!

  • Okay, I really don't see what the hell the deal is with using sand for leopard geckos. You can keep them on sand, just feed them outside the tank... my leopard will eat crickets and mealworms out of my hand, on my bed, on my desk, ect... And I even feed her in her cage a lot. She's never had any problems with the sand, and only dumbasses who use the really thick sand come up with dead lizards... >.>"

  • whats the name of dat water dish cuz im gonna buy one jus like dat one does it take batteries?

  • DONT USE SAND trust me my friends leo died of impaction from the sand . i have a leopard gecko and i use reptile carpet

  • @JTYF2 me to the only problem is my gecko is a spaz and gets his claws stuck :P

  • good dont use sand it can make an impaction and the leopard gecko can die

  • I noticw you didnt provide a water dish for them to soak in, do they have one?

  • I provide sand and rocks (flat rocks he can walk on) and my leo 80% of the time chills on the sand, I dont like the repti carpet cause it can be rough on their feet. I also hand feed my gecko so he doesnt eat the sand. but i strongly agree that if you have a baby gecko dont put him on sand.

  • I think they really like it! haha

  • pet smart, big als, CANADIAN eh?

  • sand is bad

  • how much was the water dish it looks pretty good were there any tropical style ones?im getting a panther gecko.that tank would look cooler with maybe a fake skull i know pet smart sells them like sabertooths or buffaloes.overall nice vid.

  • nice set up. btw.

  • how much did you get them leopard geckos each? hehe

  • how much did all that cost??

  • nice set up! but can you put sand in there tank? because i might get one soon.

  • does that water thing work i mean does your leo realy use it ??

  • does that water thing work i mean does your leo realy use it ??

  • i saw crictet in the cage

  • tbh iv had my geckos on sand 4 7 years and no of mine have died from impact

  • why did u put a bowl with clacium

  • Cool but nice thinking to change the sand

  • sand can cause impaction

  • Comment removed

  • to get them to breed u need a moist hide also

  • no not mine haven't died yet.

  • If your not using sand what are you using?

  • What kind of stubstrate is that?

  • where do i get calcium

  • @41015747 any pet store lol

  • Comment removed

  • You know you can probably kill your leopard Gecko's by just leaving the calcium powder in there alone with it not on any food.......

  • @UromastyxMania ummmm....no...

  • @UromastyxMania they like it dumbass.

  • @UromastyxMania no you cant they only eat the calcium when they need to

  • @UromastyxMania only if you let them have free acces to the powder with d3

  • @UromastyxMania That is just a stupid comment....THEY NEED CALCIUM! They lick it up when they need it so that just shows that you know NOTHING about Leopard Geckos.

  • hi do leos make any sounds at all in the day and night like lets say im sleeping will they diserd me

  • @UromastyxMania You HAVE to do that with Leos. It's part of their set up. Do some research and get you facts straight before you go comment on things like that. Please.

  • @UromastyxMania No i dosent if you go into any pet shop they advise to put it on its own.

  • @UromastyxMania ur suspose to have a cal dish

  • damnnnnn there is a LOT of stupid hate on this video! Ummmmm he says he not using sand anymore so shut the hellz up

  • ur lizards going to get impaction from ur bedding.

  • where's their moist hide?

  • dude first of all any kind of sand can cuase impaction.

  • there ganna be happy in there

  • Man ur my hero, seeing all these stupid people saying they live in sand in the wild and they need uvb makes me mad. But i love how you tell them dumbasses the facts. Nice set up by the way, and if u wanna breed them drop the temperature a tiny bit and just leave them in together for about a month. After then u should notice the eggs in ur females belly :)

  • nice tank but wheres the store bif al's fish barn ?

  • i like it

  • they are nocturnal and they dont need uva when there and adult but when there young they need it for the vit amin d to pass calcuim to the bones

  • nice setup!! how many gallons is a 24inch tank?

  • @reeymysterio 24inch is eather 10 or 15 gallon

  • (look at comment below, last comment.) Cont: How do I know? My gecko got sick for a week because of it. So use a very fine grain of sand like; Repti-Sand by: Zoomed. Or if your still not commfortalble with it use aspen it's just as good. Questions or comments send me a message, no hate mail because I don't have time for ignorance. I will make a video soon about why to use sand if you want to watch subbscribe or send me a friend request. I'll honer it.

  • (Look at comment below, I might have to make a couple comments) CONT: Now lets look at the papers and carpet. Both of the papers get to messy eaisly and need to get cleaned about every three days. Plus for newspaper your gecko will get poisond from the ink and an infection wich will kill it. And as far as carpet goes it's the worst substrate. When your gecko leaves dropings the bacteria spreads like disease and makes your gecko sick.

  • ATTENTION!: I would just like to tell everybody that sand is best for leopard geckos, here is my logic. First, sand is best for a lot of reasons, as long as you compact it down it's good because it heats well doesn't spread bacteria like newspaper paper towels and especially carpet. And it's easy to filter. Where leos come from there are rocky areas and COMPACTED SAND, think about it logicly there are a lot of rocks so erosion is going to make a lot of sand.

  • i found out that sand is actually ok for them they in pakistan they dont live on news paper dumb asses gs

  • @uromastyxrock2010 they dont live on sand either... they live on more of a clay-rocky area....

  • @Squamatakid acctually it's like a compacted clayish sand with rocks and stuff. But it's still kindof the same. Not trying to be rude or anything just helping you so you can tell people off when they something incorrect. Nice enclosure by the way.

  • @Squamatakid so how about a dry dirt sand mix ?

  • @Squamatakid uhhh no its sand smart guy

  • @Squamatakid and any way natural sand dosent cause impaction because it has been rounded out you can see it under a microscope but human made sand causes impaction because it is square and impacts and cuts the inside of your reptile

  • @deathvideos900 ya your right leo's can live on PURE natural sand

BUT it has to be 100% natural !

  • @Squamatakid Yeah, but, sand is still okay to use, seeing as where they live IS a desert, and using repti-carpet or news paper is even less natural for them... And nobody's gonna want to buy clay and fake rocks just to use in their leopard gecko's environment. Use your brain a little.

  • @uromastyxrock2010 it causes impaction

  • @uromastyxrock2010 it causes impaction u dummy

  • @uromastyxrock2010 sand can cause impaction u dummy

  • no it cant only certain sand causes impact and besides my gecko loves the sand so i dont no y ur calling him a dummie u thicko

  • @uromastyxrock2010 its becase the sand people use is like strait up desert sand they live in rock

  • @uromastyxrock2010 the sand they live on is compacted.. no loose sand

  • cool geckos r they tangerine? i think you should put in some fake plants but otherwise really gd

  • @scareface3179 you're fucking stupid.

  • @Squamatakid true dat

  • I lol'd

  • @Squamatakid Win.

  • @Squamatakid Lmao I love it

  • @scareface3179 no they dont u dumb bitch they live best if they get heat from their belly u fuckin idiot

  • @scareface3179 They are nocturnal man, so therefor they don't need uva or uvb to produce vitamine d3 and other essential vitamins. they get there nutrients from most of the foods they eat e.g. the leopard gecko is mainly and insectivore and insects are high in protein and essential minerals. Google itthe only time you need a lamp is if you have a big tank and it is cold.

  • @scareface3179 who told you that. Pure ignorance. Are you autistic bro? Let me gess your moms a refrigerator and your dad's a door mat? THERE FUCKING NOCTURNAL!

  • @scareface3179 did u just say leopard geckos arent nocturnal? dumbass
