Yep, and it will right in fire too. I have a asus 1005ha that runs os x snow leopard. These little guys are not as underpowered as many think and there a lot of fun for the money.
i runs pretty bad on my hp tx2520. seems mandriva 2008 was better. 2009 even canot boot on my acer 5580. quite disappointed. I have mandriva powerpack, but I'm afraid if it will also sucks just like one.
Yes you can dual boot. I bought another hard disk for my Mandriva. but it still dual boots. just don have to worry. Once bitten you will hardly need vista,
This is the free version, but I couldn't get the bootloader to work on a usb fash drive so I installed it to the sdd. There are bound to be a few buds and updates.
Is this the Free version? I downloaded the other version and it seems impossible to install it via USB stick. Downloading Free version right now to see if it helps.
im new to the whole linux thing but im extremely impressed so far. im using ubuntu right now but i might give mandriva a try now. forgive me if im wrong but isn't that acer one a low powered netbooks? how come its so smooth even with all those 3d effects (compiz fusion im guessing).
I should add you can download mandriva 2009 and boot the cd and use the live cd to see if you like it without installing it.The servers are busy and I cant do updates yet and there are no codecs until I can do updates.
I have used xp and installed linux on the same hard drive, installing xp first and then linux using the free space on the windows partition.
But there are always things that can go wrong so back up your hard drive first if you you try it.If you uninstall linux you will have to install the the windows boot files whcih are on your windows cd.
Yes ya can use both but why would ya ? I don't miss MS one bit. Mandriva runs like a dream. No Crashes, rebooting etc and its Fast.
Over here (Australia) XP etc costs over $300 a copy. Mandriva and others are FREE. Mandriva Power Pack costs $66 incl post. But Mandriva One is just fine and is FREE.
whoa compiz on a netbook? that's crazy.

I would not recommend Vista on an Acer One. However an XP and Linux dual boot is just fine.
