@Tracymmo ice hockey isn't a sport but an excuse for beating people up. Football is a sport. Basketball is a sport. Ice hockey is too violent. Is it actually possible to foul someone without commiting murder?

@eragonsaphira777 I don't watch it enough to know, but players spend plenty of time in the penalty box. I'm just not sure what gets them there. Insulting the referee's mother?

How are you defining 'sport'?

I've played both ice hockey and football for many years, and hockey is far more physically demanding. The worst injury I've had is a hairline fracture on my wrist. It's a violent sport but if you've played it and know how to take a hit it's really not that bad. Outside of the NHL there's hardly any fighting. As much as I like football, it's embarrassing when they fall over and cry cause someone bumped them.

most things called a sport i agree are sports, with the exception of ice hockey (too violent) and cricket (nothing happens at all). I agree with you on a lot of football players being spoiled cry babyies. I've only played ice hockey once, i'm no good at it. and while in my one game i didn't get injured a friend broke his ankle during a fall when he was shoved into the wall. I don't watch proffesional ice hockey, i'm talking from my experiences of watching amateurs, so i may be wrong.
