  • The guy playing this is a huge fail =P

  • It's not that hard. The only thing I don't like about this game is that it rubs it in when you fail by saving your progress at the "Try Again" screen, plus criticize you of every mistakes. Also the "boing" sound effect is annoying when you screwed up .

  • Worst review in the world

  • who the hell is playing this!!!!!!!!

  • whoever was playing that is horrible at rhythm heaven i know a 5 year old that could do better

  • i love this game its my fave game on the DS

  • I like rhythm rally but then I saw rhythm rally 2...

  • cromp stomp has been in my head for a while... >_<

  • It`s your DSi, man, that is slow in the registering on the flicks ;) RYTHM PARADISE IS THE BEST DSi GAMES... I think! :D :)) My favourite games is the Lockstep, Glee Club and Fan Club

  • I cleared all of the games in this game in ONE FUCKING DAY. IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO KEEP A RHYTHM. And, when you flick, you release the stylus from the screen as you do it, idiots. (Rally Rhythm 2 can be a pain though)

  • I cleared all of the games in this game in ONE FUCKING DAY. IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO KEEP A RHYTHM. And, when you flick, you release the stylus from the screen as you do it, idiots.

  • you're saying only people with extraordinary musical talent can enjoy this game? BS gamespot you FAIL

  • Stupid. I have 8 medals 19 perfects and I`ve been playing it for less than two weeks, and never picked up an instrument in my life.

  • You can actually skip Lockstep if you fail enough times. I id it and a couple hours later, I got to remix 10.

  • This game is perfect.PERFECT!!! The gameplay, music, amount of content is unbelievable. Anyone reading this must buy this game.

  • Worst review ever. Just cos you use an emulator (which suck) it doesn't mean you have to say the gameplay on actual nintendo ds systems. This the 2nd best game on my ds so this review is the biggest fail EVER.

  • Just because you suck at the game doesnt mean it isn't a great game. It's sure what he's getting.

  • lol gamestop, they always phail.

  • Man, the reviewer sure is retarded. The game isn't this hard, geez. It's just about touching, sliding and flicking.

  • He didn't say that you had to be a skilled musician. or atleast i didn't hear it. he said that you had to be musically endowed. Basically put, those without any rhythm might as well just leave this game be.

  • Wow, who ever was playing Munchy monk at the end really sucked. must not have had good Rhythm

  • This game is simple yet so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I hate this reviewer a lot

  • "Extraordinary musical talent?"

The game lets you skip everything except for the first and last games. You don't have to finish the last one, and if you can't beat the first you shouldn't be playing the damn game in the first place.

I have never had a problem with flicking. You shouldn't. Unless, of course, you're playing an emulator, in which case you shouldn't base your whole fucking review on how bad the emulator is.

Also! Don't show footage of yourself sucking.

  • LOL this person sucks at this game.

  • AHH i wish i had a ds lol this game is sooo fun i played it in target

  • I love this game. It's freaking awesome.

  • Also, the reviewer is implying that Love Lab has bad music. Preposterous.

    //Akane

  • @AkaneDomo Did you know that Love Lab music made me feel so warm and fizzy inside I actually almost shed a tear.

I dunno, I'm in love right now so that might've been it, but it just proves that lyrics DO NOT make a music. (I thought for sure there was some kind of lyrics being sung but now that I realized there isn't I'm thankful there aren't lyrics)

  • -sigh-. This review is a joke. The player is obviously relying way too much on visual cues to be good at the game. If you're really having trouble focusing on the music rather than the graphics, try closing your eyes. It's helped me more than once.

Also, if your stylus flick doesn't register, you're lifting the stylus way too early.

I feel the game sits comfortably in the middle of the small line between fun and difficult and is definitely one of the best DS games I've ever played.

    //Akane

  • wow, amazing, i finally find a guy who isn't a noob saying that this game is shit, thank god !

  • i do as well

  • ...You...you have to be a skilled musician to play this game?

    FUCK. THAT.

I've never touched an instrument in my life besides a recorder, which I never learned how to play anything past Three Blind Mice on! I have 30 medals so far and 10 perfects!

Whoever is playing this is terrible and doesn't know how to learn from his mistakes. What a joke way to lessen one of the most original rhythm games of the decade.

  • @stickmeister0 I played the cello for a time. The instrument I'm REALLY good at is the piano and keyboard.

  • @stickmeister0 Maybe you're a skilled musician and you don't even know it.

  • i beat the whole game..........

  • agreed

  • I find the Glee Club easy. Just press and hold the stylus down to shut the guy up and let it go to make him sing.

  • @wii1245 agreed 100%!

  • Think about it, if you weren't musically inclined, why would you buy this game, let alone any rhythm game, in the first place?

  • Recomend????

  • this game is amazing! and its not too difficult if you dont rely on visual cues lol.

The practices before each game (If you do them) make the game alot easier.

Moai really is the hardest. But i guess it depends on the person. Hopefully they make another :) also i would love to play the original the videos seem amazing

  • Lol, whoever's playing is pretty bad - especially at munchy monk. That's so easy.

  • @TheAwesomeOne1ooo Wow, easy! for me i just skipped it!

  • @1olivinka1 If you just really pay attention, it's very easy. ;D

  • Moai Doo Wop sucks because of the part where you have to tap quickly and make a (un) sound. My dsi registers as a slow tap. :P

  • I've no problem with the flicking

    0_o

  • they should make a rhythm heaven 2

  • actully rhythm heaven is the second game of the series

  • what's the first called?

  • rhythm tengoku (means rhythm heaven in english)

this one is called 'rhythm tengoku gold'

  • really?

    Thanks!

  • the hardest game for me is between the second moai one maybe the first and second guitar one, and the karate man 1 and 2

my favorites are frog hop 1 and 2 fan club 1 and 2 lockstep 2 and maybe munchy munk 1 and 2

  • Not a bad gane, but some parts are difficult! Like the dumpling eating lol

  • Exactly. That crap started fast. I was thinking to myself, "Don't they usually speed up gradually?"

  • i never found this game hard. maybe i should play an instrument. :p

  • I think ima get this when i buy my DSi =] cuz my DS lite broke =\

  • 1. Flicks are not that hard. Unless your DS is broken, you should have no problem. (They even give you a tutorial! COME ON!)

    2. Emulators, which they were using, SUCK.

    3. The game is not that hard on DS & DSi. (See 2.)

    4. The game is only hard when you first know the rhythms. Once you learn them, the game is a snap.

    5. I am a master at this game. I should know how this game is. One Perfect is all I need to complete it.

[Moai Doo-Wop 2=Pain in the butt]

  • Comment removed

  • How do they spell 'rhythm' wrong at 0:19? DUH. -_-

  • lol so true haha

  • screw u moai doo wop 2 is awesome! not the first one but te 2nd is awesome! i can play it on the snare drum perfectly! and i got a perfect on it in the game.

  • Yeah, I know

I have all the perfects on 2 save games, because I have no life. lol

  • There's no way he was using an emulator. It's impossible to flick as fast as he did on Big Rock Finish on an emulator, unless you've got an insanely fast mouse and computer.

Granted, the reviewer obviously needs to step up his game. Precious few levels are hard enough to complain about. (Moai Doo-Wop, Rhythm Rally, Remixes 6 and 8, I'm looking at you.)

  • Same Here Moai Doo-Wop 2 -.-"

  • @ISHOTMYMYSELF for me, Remix 8 is what killed me first hand. I've gotten very far and struggling to get medals. right now, my amount is 29 and I'm trying to get 30+. my amount of PERFECTS is soaring, though.

  • @ISHOTMYMYSELF moai 2 eff yea for a perfect

  • @ISHOTMYMYSELF Feels good to know that even a master (despite self-proclaimed) has trouble with Moai Doo-Wop 2 XD

  • @ISHOTMYMYSELF

They used emulators? that didn't even work right in the emulators that were out in 2009 xD

  • I never hab problems with flicking

  • this game is so awesome you guys should play it (trust me its not gay)

  • the description says 'high difficulty'

its only hard if you have a bad sense of rhythm ;)

  • Looks like they were playing on an emulator...

Becuase of the lack lustre quality and well.. aucky playing. Wich would also expalin their problems with flicking...

  • 1. They failed on MUNCHY MONK and Built to Scale. Really?

    2. If you don't have musical talent, then why are you getting a rhythm game?

    3. IIRC, you only have to pass B2S and remixes 3 & 6.

    4. I've never had trouble with the flick.

    5. This game=win.

  • I've been replaying the first 3 sets for a long time now. I just like them so much, and I don't want to widdle away my content too soon. Plus, I've got them all gold, and are waiting for perfect chances to show up.

I think I'll just 100% the first 3 sets before moving on...

  • ive only just passed remix 8 lol its a great game but it can get a little tricky

  • Lol I got hooked on rhythm heaven for like 1 month! Just rely on what you hear. I've done Remix 10 with my eyes closed! LOL. It seems i am bragging now.........

  • Nothing less from Tsunku!

  • im stuck on remix 6

  • your already up to there?

  • hell yeah dude (its at the start till 0:31 )

  • i'm on remix 9 took me a few days to get there my fave games are fan club fan club 2 and Dj school

  • The DJ game is deffidently my favorite game on there lol

  • :-)

  • hmmmm... HMMMM... so.. rythmy... must resist... ARGH!! *goes looking for old games to sell*

  • lol I was watching someone play this in best buy today and I had heard if it several times, so I thought, what the heck. I didn't want the game before today, for fear of it being too easy (based on the commercials I had seen for it)

I was pleasantly surprised to find the kid before me doing terribly. Although it wasnt very hard, it was a lot of fun and now i really want it! i've been playin sax irl for years though, so rhythm comes naturally. dont follow what you see, follow what you hear

  • I just got the game TO-DAY! AUGUST 1, 2009!! I tried it out and...well, Gamespot...

    "Well, I never!"

I hate to admit and offend, but Rhythm Heaven is a great game! I would give it a 9/10, but I agree about the difficulty level, but NOT how hard it actually is!

  • Lol, control problems and high difficulty?

Bullshit dude, your just bad at the game!

I don't blame him though, I know this kind of thing can be hard. Trust me, no control issues.

  • Haha true.. :P

  • I eat the whole game, got all perfects and unlocked everything. now that I got everything I'm left with a messed up ds screen and the remix 9 song stuck in my head. Great game (still rying to get past the 3rd attack on Shoot-em-up in endless games though)

  • You deserve some hard-earned credit, and I worship you!

  • Wat I deserve is a new ds screen jk lol, but I'll deal with it, the only time I get the stylus stuck on the scratches when I'm on the dsi browser. :(

  • 3:37 Whose the chief?

  • LOL iits just rhthym tengoku on DS and more games

  • ik heb hem gedownload op mijn R4 kaartje,,, heel handig,, je moet alleen een beetje verstand hebben,, mijn lievelings game is het zingen en die dingetjes door de ringen schieten!

    xies

  • Aaaah i love this game but i've been on remix 6 for ages n im never gna get past it cos u cant skip it. And does anyone else think that monk one is rlly strange (like his massive nose and how he moves his head up and down) weird... lol

  • oh no!! no skipping??!!

just turned of my ds thinking, i'l try it for the third time tommorow = P

and the monk is weird!especially when that egg hits him xD

  • yeah no skippin. I finally got past this n now im on remix 10 wich again, you cant skip :( and yes, the monk scares me :S

  • Lmfao this game hurts my rythem sole, aka I SUCK. Oh well, there are worse.

  • moai song is best

  • i hope they make a rhythm heaven 2. that would be bomb.

  • lmfao the sad part is i've had to use the "skip the game" option ni the cafe for every single game after the first row XD

and i'm a dancer! woww lmfao

  • maybe it's the flick thing ^_^

  • dude you terrible at crop stomp and munchy monk... dont play mm 2... dadadadadadada

  • dude, im not exactly musically gifted, but i didnt find these games overly hard (except for lockstep, which was a bitch). they were TRICKY, which providing a refeshing challenge,

  • Am I the only one who did everything without skipping?

  • nope...

  • no. u arent

  • This game is awesome i spent a whole 2 days on this just tapping along with the great music and cute characters. the only down side is the extreme difficulty but if u practice enough youl be able to get a superb. BTW if u think rythm ralley is hard...which i do. rythm ralley 2 is even worse...but u get to skip it :D just wna let everyone know that. my fav level is the Frog Hop!!! I hate the Maui one and the Glee club is impossible to get a superb T.T And remix 8 is impossible no exceptions!

  • whats funny my fav lev. is munchy monk and and got a perfect in rr 2... MY HAND!!!!!!

  • I still have a fair bit to go to completing this game, i'm down at the love lab bit

  • 3:02 I guess I'm able to "cruise past these rhythmic tests".

Also, the person playing this isn't the best player in the world. Not to be rude.

  • is anyone at remix 6 and cnat pass it and the person in the cafe wont let them pass it either?

    or is it just me?

  • some of the games are the most random things i mean the the doi uhs and the egg flicking

  • They arent egges they are dumplings...-_-

  • well in japan they are eggs. in america they are dumplings

  • This game is extremely fun yet very hard at some points... Don't lose the beat...

  • seen to be fun

  • Glee Club rocks!! XD

  • glee club is wayyyy too hard for me.

i love the dazzles, shoot em up, and the one with the monkeys and the girl singing.

i hate the drum battle and rhythm rally.

    wayy tooo hard.

  • Seriously? i hate shoot em up. the monkeys and the girl is fan club

  • i guess its' alrightt.

i really hate drum battle, lockstep, and space soccer.

i cant get past remix 6 and the little birdy in the cafe wont come up and give me an offer for me to pass it!!

  • my 2nd favorite game :]

  • wow this looks fun i want it how much?

  • lol@ always mentioning people with "blessed musical talent." just spend time with an instrument to get good at it instead of playing music video games and whining

  • drum battle rocks!

  • some of them are well hard u just play and fail the that person in the cafe asks if u wanna skip it

  • i usually skip it. but i realised if i skip it then what's the point of playing the game cus then it will just make the game pass by fast.

  • Munchy monk is the best!!!

  • I'm stuck on Lockstep! Can someone do gameplay of it?

  • You just have to transist over to the backbeat. Here's how I do it. When I hear...

"hai, hai, hai, hu-haw! op op op..."

    I tap the stylus like...

"tap, tap, tap, tap-tap! tap tap tap..."

The transition voice is a hint of sorts.

  • thanks man! that helps a lot!

i can't do the backbeat bit, but the op op op helps a lot!

  • It's good, but I suck, so it's not good.

  • its not that hard!..

  • If you have the superhuman ability to hit it to within the 5-milisecond ratio of every beat, yes, it's not frustrating or difficult at all. >_>

  • that person fails at lock step XD

  • When he says "some games can't be skipped," it's actually only 3. Built to Scale, Remix 6 and Remix 10. That's it. No exceptions. Out of the 50 games that can be played, only 3 can't be skipped and for good reasons methinks.

  • Oh wow they suck at Munchy Monk! D:

  • All i heard the reviewer say is that he sucks at rhythm games....

  • Methinks the reviewer needs a new job.

  • I got all perfects on every mini game :-)

  • I WANT THIS GAME.... LIKE RIGHT NOW!!! Well Im going to Target right now... and i'm gonna buy the new nintendo dsi, who knows, maybe my mom and dad will get me this really cool game!

  • 1:23-1:25 EPIC FAIL!!! For a reviewer he must not have played the full game. There is one song challenge and a multitude of lessons and battles under the guitar section of the game later on where the player is required to use one of the shoulder buttons as an effects switch. And I just noticed that in my upcoming review of this game I forgot to mention that as well. XD

  • I think the critique on difficulty is a little over the top. Like the reviewer said, you can skip stages after three attempts (with the exceptions of the first stage, the sixth remix [since it leads into the credits] and the very last remix [since there's nothing to skip to]).

And no offence meant, but the reviewer here, well, didn't seem very good. It is a rhythm game; there should be no surprise that it requires a certain amount of rhythm.

  • this game is great.. EYYYYEEEEEEEE SUPPOSE!!!

  • *Claps three times then jumps.*

  • High difficulty? I don't mean to sound cocky, but I found this game to be on the lower side of the difficulty spectrum.

  • If you play a lot of video games, it is probably easier for you than the average non-gamer...

  • Rifts are not catchy, I suppose.

    I suppose, yeah!

  • good review accept for the guy's "I hate my job voice"

  • lol i was thinking the same thing XD

  • you don't need to be blessed w/ musical talent, you just need a sense of rhythm. if you can't even do that, this game's no good for you.

  • i need this game!!!!!

  • Ditto that!

  • i was not even hearing i found myself lost in the video while the guy was talking

  • Same. That guy had an uninteresting voice.

  • yeah he reviewed th game as if it was a piece of crap and its not

  • i'm gonna have one for my birthday!! :D yeeeey!

  • you have to be blessed with musical talent? foey! I bet he filmed the first time he played it

  • I will say that the game is fun. And most of the games on it are easy, however not all of them are. I found the later remixes hard.

But the game is definitely fun, and has a lot of replayability. And It's definitely better than Wii Music, that game was just boring.

  • ...Did he just say Rhythm Heaven was simaler to Wii Music?

  • Wow, the guy playing in this review is really really bad. :)

  • OMFG! How could you think THIS is hard??? Who hires the staff ??

I mean, about 75% of the games released in the 8 and 16 bits period were way harder than Rhythm Heaven and we considered them "average challenge" back in the day.

BTW: the guy who said that pokemon and madworld are hardcore LOL! I'm guessing that was a joke right??

Go try to beat Contra hard corps,Fatal Rewind and Thunderforce IV on the genesis of your older cousin....or any other random game, I bet my ass it will be harder

  • So true. Unless you use the classic Contra cheat, but still Contra is hardcore!

  • well i just bought this game ands well its ok i payed 40 bucks but i would say its wearth 25 bucks i just didnt get into it lol but what can i say im a crid-eck

  • I got this game for free and I love it. the repeating over and over again doent bother me (hey I play megaman games in those I had to repeat some parts shitloads of times).

  • Too hard? Eh

  • Yeah, really?! I found it very easy to get perfect on all the games...

  • does this guy have to describe all these non first tier levels? isn't half the fun discovering the levels, like he himself said

  • 0:46 LMAO!

  • xD! dj yellow ftw! SCRATCH-O! HEY!

  • lol wow they're pretty bad at munchy monks (the last game).

...at least i think that's what it's called.

  • It's hard, but all you need is practice!

I HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR 2 DAYS AND IM TO THE 8th REMIX!!! (btw, hardest remix in the game o.o)

  • yes, really! needed thr barista's help. i tell you, remix 10 is easier.

  • Yes the game is hard but isn't that what poeple wanted. ?

I mean, many complains that the DS and the Wii have no hardcore games. Well, here's one.

  • sega said themselves madworld was casual and pokemon is a kids game but for kids but its very tough to master

  • I have the game.

All it takes is practice. It applies to every game. It's like saying that those who are not blessed to play FPS games will find it highly difficult. Practice.

Anyways, it's surprisingly addicting. It's WarioWare with rhythm. Sure, I managed to perfect every song, and remix, but I still play it regardless.
