  • good song

  • I can sing better... NOT!

  • So amazing. I love her voice. Amazing.

  • so did damien write it and she covered it?

  • @Errghhh yep

  • WAAAAW i just made an amazing dicovery! try singing a second part next to this song, that's so beautiful, i think i'm going to write it down! it's breathtaking, really!

  • I'd love to see Damien and Vienna collaborate. Their voices would fit so well together, it would be pure magic.

  • In all honesty, Damien Rice goes off-key A LOT in his songs, which is very ironic because one of the most vital things about being a singer is to be melodious =D

    Thus, I prefer Vienna's versions.

@jusk8lp She does sound like Tori, doesn't she? =) I liked that about her.

  • Damien's version is better but this is very good aswel.

  • I heard this version years ago; I first thought it's Tori Amos. Now that I found it, well...I was so wrong. XD

  • Really like the piano in this, BUT...I find some really nice chord missing that appears e.g. "There's still a little BIT (tone starts) of your taste"... and again when it's "stones TAUGHT (tone starts) me to fly"...

Sorry I'm probably being over-aesthetical here, but these chords were the most beautiful to me and I don't find them here so I prefer Damien Rice's version. Love her voice and the piano anyways, both are GREAT.

  • I wish I had the sheet music for this! Beautiful!

  • I love Damiens version. Though this is great too! I heard Damien first and I do believe it's originally his song :)

  • But as far as comers go, she did it well. She has such a pure voice.

  • i prefer this version...the piano is really intense.

  • It's originally a Damien Rice song, but Vienna does not disappoint either...

  • love it!!!!!!!!

  • i love her voice at the very end, its really sweet

  • though I heard this one first I must say I like Damien's version a little bit better :) He kinda has bette voice for it... this one's great and since Damian and Vienna are my two favorite artists I'm so happy that they both seng this wonderful song!

  • Damien portrays the song better, but musically, I prefer this one.

  • Beautiful. I love this cover as much as the original, but I miss the guitar at the beginning.

  • Damien is just so intense. I get the feeling that his songs are not that much without him. I'm totally addicted to his music.

  • Can somebody tell me the lyrics please??? Ican't

    find them!!! ;-;

  • look up cannonball by damien rice. that's the original so you'll get the same lyrics.

  • I think studies have proven people almost always like the one they heard first, best. I heard this one first, so I love it!

  • great cover, but for some reason, this cover doesn't give me the same feeling as Damien Rice's.

  • i think the style of damien suits this kind of mood better

  • Slight correction to the description, It's a great cover by an incredible songwriter and singer. The song is originally by Damien Rice. But this was an amazing version and I like it very much.

  • Good composition of pictures ;)

  • I like Rice's version better but really like hers too. I like them for different reasons. I just feel the emotion in his slightly more, but hers is great too.

  • This is the first time I've heard this song, and once again Vienna Teng has totally blown me away with her "cannonball." She is simply amazing. And this video is a beautiful fit to a beautiful song. Well done.

  • Maybe it's because I heard this version first, but I like it waaaay better that Rice's version.

His voice just sounds strange to me.

  • Rice and Teng both bring some incredible talent and feeling to this song. Don't limit yourselves; listen to both, a lot.

  • the version of damien rice is very nice too but sometimes his voice doesn't seem to fit the music. And I actually prefer piano :]

  • I prefer Damien.

  • I don't know about the "true" meaning, but Vienna Teng reinterpreted the song. There can be more than one meaning, and I love her interpretation and so do most of the people here.

  • Whoa... its a really good video and a song too:)

  • aaarg! she needs to put this one on an album!! It's soooo pretty, I wanna have it on CD!

  • Wow! Just perfect in every way.

  • i agree. i think her voice is better for the song. i love vienna tengs songs. they are like poetry in song form. her voice could make ANY song good.

  • @stardustthewarrior in some ways i think she's better than enya.

  • Better than Damien IMO, I love the purity she gives the song. Simply wonderful. This should be a song she plays at every show.

  • i totally agree snoogans14 "fantastic on so many levels" her songs are so amazing

  • Boy oh boy. I love this song. And I'm really starting to adore Vienna. I love hearing how people interpret songs written by others. This is just fantastic on so many levels for me.

  • "i guess that is proven by some scientist that one always prefers the version he or she listens to first"

I don't know what makes a person like music.

But I do know that just because you hear a paticular version doesn't mean that's immidietly going to be your favourite.

The Ramones version of "what a wonderfull world" is my favourite song of all time, but I heard Sam Cookes version first originally.

Same with Amy Winehouse's AWFULL version of Valerie compared to the Zutons cover.

  • Great video! Wonderful song! Really perfect! :)

  • i still remember the first time i heard this two girls i knew would sing it to calm the rest of us down.. i guess thats why i like this better then Damien's version :)

  • Haha, I heard this version first, and it's what got me interested in Damien Rice. Actually, I think that Damien's voice suits the song much better than Vienna's simply because the purity in Vienna's voice doesn't portray the pain of this song as well as Damien's can.

  • I like her! Good cover!

  • i'd have really liked this if i hadn't heard damien rice's version. the piano is gorgeous, but her vocals just lack the emotional intensity that DR's version had. But this is a really nice vid. Good choice of pictures too =)

  • im not fond of this cover.

  • This is Damien Rice's song...so NOT "by" Vienna Teng.

    ...alright cover though.

  • It's a very, very pretty cover. Sweet voice. You should change the "by" in the title though. That, coupled with the "incredible songwriter" bit in the About panel definitely gives the mistaken impression she wrote this.

  • actually, damien rice's version is far better. the guitar accentuates the song. the tone of the piano and her voice doesn't convey what the song's about - it's more haunting but less invoking =/. if you like nice singing, that's what this is for. also, nice video! it must have take a lot of time and effort to put that together.

  • Then maybe you should change it to "(I think) damien rice's version is far better", since some people prefer this version.

  • I disagree!! Actually, i like both versions. I just think they have different feels to it. Vienna's just happens to be much sweeter because of her voice. I don't think either versions are better from each other -- their both splendid!! :0 ...and did Vienna wrote this song or Damien? I always thought it was Damien. o_O

  • WOW! what cani saw but wow! you are a great video maker, you make the pictures speaks from the song. wish i could make video just like what you did, i only make video thru rock you and i upload my own pics, i juts dont know how to post it to youtube, could you give me some advice on how to make videos on youtube... i appreciate your responce, thanks!

  • maybe i should xD i shall next time.

  • This is indeed a beautiful song and just fantastic performance by vienna. I am sorry for all of the music i may have stolen, please forgive me and don't hold it against me.

  • i thought Vienna wrote this song for the longest time, and when i found out that it was really a Damien Rice original song, i still prefered Vienna's version. although, Damien Rice's guitar work on his Cannonball is very pretty, Vienna's version gives me chills.. awesome song, by either artist!

  • well i listened to damien's version first and i like his one better...although i guess that is prooven by some scientist that one always prefers the version he or she listens to first :) so i guess we're all being "brainwashed" ^^ by ourselves

    great version tho,...nice voice

  • Holy shit! I love this too.

  • Beautiful video! Yea, Vienna's covers are always better than the originals. Her voice is just more beautiful...and piano is just superior to guitar.

  • Now when you say originals, do you mean you like her versions over the original artist's, or that you feel her own work is not as good as her performing others'?

  • i totally love her version more than Damien Rice even though he wrote it :P

  • nice! ;)
