How to Plant Bare Root Strawberry Plants

I'm trying to keep the weeds around the crown at bay... any thoughts on using weedblock and then covering it with straw, or will that inhibit the runners / growth?

Weedblock will not keep up with the weeds. Uou will need to manually remove them. It works best if you do it every few weeks all season long this way the strawberry plants do not get overran with those nasty weeds.
