@alvinleefan I did not like this LP, I have it in my house, but not really a fan of this lp , I like Crickle wood green , undead, or a Space in time, Stonehenge better
@DisneysFrogPrincess --Hey Girl, I appreciate your comment. I have no discrimination when it comes to Alvin Lee. Every single thing he does drives me nuts. Some more than others, but I have never heard a guitar lick or a sung phrase from him that I do not adore. I got it bad. LOL.
I caught this group in Chicago about 1970. At the Aragone Ballroom with Savoy Brown opening. Sitting on the floor 10 feet from the stage. I swear we were getting baptized with their sweat! Needless to say we did not stay sitting very long. I bet there were only 200-300 people in the place....WOW! what a show, and this song was on the play list that night.
"Folk" aha..yes! I never could make out th@ 1st word! As well as a cd, I have 2 vinyl copies of this album. One a gatefold, one not. I can't find a copy of the issue I bought back @ the time, as you describe. It's almost impossible to find accur@e smaller details like th@ when buying online e.g. the 'textured' cover of "Rest In Peace" I bought online. Th@ was huge disappointment, nothing like the original I once had. Like many old freaks my age, I'm building up my original early collection ;-j
....It's a pastime ☺ I don't happen to agree with the saying, "nostalgia ain't what it used to be", amusing though it is!! I think it gets better with age.
So the Union Jack on the basket was the original sleeve? I wasn't sure if it might have been just on the UK issue? If you have the UJ copy, could you give me the catalogue number please ;-j
Totally agree with you, they absolutely nailed it th@ day!! Pure heart, gutsy rock & roll and like you say, played with a whole lot of souI!! I think Chuck would've approved ☺
Love Alvin's singing on this version. Sexy as ever.
