It sounds like the children are 'speaking singing'. It also sounds like there are boys whose voices have not yet changed, and are trying to sing bass, but their voices are not quite mature for that. Are you a teacher? I can see the potential - I mean it appears that there are some kids in the group that really want to sing. Weed those ones out, and you'll have a great middle-school choir.
