Listen to the lyrics of Band of Horses- Prayer and then listen to Cudi's version, Cudi puts more of his heart into it.

When you look at someone like a jazz composer who can write out music and arrange parts for many different instruments in different trebleclefs with music that changes time signature and key several times throughout a song. comparing it to someone who has "heart" in their music that makes it good. no comparison at all.
