"I'm not going to pay your asking price... We're not rich people... Besides, the market is already flooded with your Kalashnikovs... you realize that in some parts of my country, you can get one for the price of a chicken..."; "These are my Kalashnikov Kids. My Boy Brigades [...]. A bullet of a 14 year old is just as effective as one from a 40 year old. Often more effective." - President Andre Baptiste (character based on President Charles Taylor, Liberia - LORD OF WAR), Orlov's (Bout's) client.
What for? Exposing an illegal arms dealer and his illegal and illict network that has contributed to the deaths of hundreds of thousands if not millions....and what exactly is your experience of this in the real world.....how stupid can you get or are you just another lame stooge of the Bout is innocent factory....
Nothing wrong with exposing Arms networks, but making up stories is wrong. Peleman lied for 10 years, evidenced by his failure to prove anything of his invented stories about Bout. Ask him why he failed to do so? Ask him why he lied about Chichakli. I believe Chichaklis posted evidence and I have not heard Peleman deny it. Facts supersede opinions motivated by money and Peleman made living by inventing Bout. As to what I know, plenty more than Peleman, ask Peleman about his qualifications
If you are an honest business man, you have nothing to be worried about. Where there is smoke, there is fire. Even if this Peleman is a liar, do you think Bout would be hunted if they had no evidence? Cmon, people are stupid, but not this stupid.
I agree with you, people are not stupid and that is why three courts in Europe, Asia, and Africa threw away cases brought against Victor Bout. Perhaps you think that all of these courts are also stupid because they found no evidence to support anti-Bout allegations, don't you?
I do not know about the witness...How much did they pay Peleman to sign his name on reports filled with made-up stories? =) (or maybe, he did not get paid and avenged instead)
Peleman received 1.3 million Euro for his "great work", and that is the reason the tale of Victor Bout kept going. As long as the story go, Pelemen keeps the revenue coming!
Well you have just showed how little you know about the arms world! You think Kalashnikov are the only type of Ak-47s! WOW! oh dear....back to the drawing bored for you...try looking for the Chinese AKs, the Uganadan ones...many more being made with or without licence......how much is Victor or Igor paying you?
You want to argue that the only view the public should look at Victor Bout's story is the government point of view. I saw that you put a comment above calling people stupid, and want to attack me personally. You do not know me, you do not know other users of the net. I do believe that the man who writes as such has a limited comprehension ability and could be himself motivated by money or maybe fear of shame when the truth gets out? No, I did not get paid. I simply stated my opinion.
Ummm.. there IS only one AK-47 or Автомат Калашникова 47 (Avtomat Kalashnikova 47) Sure there are other assault weapons base off of or similar to, but there is only ONE Kalashnikov model of 1947, I think it is YOU that needs to learn about the arms world. The chineese one? Its not an ak, but an knock off called the Type 56. Thats like buying generic stuff and passing it off as the origina.
United States don't tolerate no competition in gun running that is why Victors luck ran out and fate caught up with him.

How much was this witness paid? Not enough to remember that Kalashnikov and AK-47 is the same thing...
It is hard to imagine that the United Nations uses such "corroborated" testimonies to write its reports

Well, it seems that Peleman - the arms experts did not notice that either!
