  • Seeing as how these are omni-directional.. imaging doesnt play a role.. is this correct?

  • Aura NSW2 's sensitivity is only 84db. This is already a problem with passive xo as it will be unpractical to attenuate the woofer.

Other requirements with passive xo will not do (or difficult):

    - Time alignment

    - Notch filter

    - LT Transform

Pluto's xo actually comes with amps included. Very cost-effective approach.

  • is there a passive xover solution which will get most of the contours in an economic fashion?

  • Cool - can adequate tailoring of the drivers be achieved with a passive crossover?

  • Thanks for your comments. The recording method and youtube playback does not do them justice. Yet if you're willing to compare the sound with various clips of normal box speakers in Youtube, you may notice the massive difference of "openess" of radiated sound. Try comparing with "the best loudspeakers on earth" for example.

  • woops i mearnt i wanted a pair or orions, big open baffles with h frame designed woofer section and digital active croissovers.

  • start saving ;)

  • of course they do, the were design by siegfred linkwitz, i love his croosover troporapthy, and i wish i could own a pair of pheonix open baffle, one can dream, but i don't think i can let go of my open baffles.

  • All I can say is: WOW! What speakers did you use?

  • Wow that was amazing - the transparency imaging and detail was unbelieveable!!!!!!

  • You can hear all of that through a compressed YouTube video eh? lol..

  • Yeah - they must be incredible speakers - they made my $19.99 radioshack computer speakers sound better than ever before!!!

  • Lol, no doubt. You couldn't hear "transparency" because this was recorded on some kind of webcam and there's noise all throughout the video. Imaging? The mic is way off to one side and the recording seems to be mono anyways, so.. no. As for detail, I think you're confusing the incredibly wide dynamic range for detail. It's a simple song, every instrument stands out.

  • You just don't get sarcasm do you...

  • There isn't exactly any body language or verbal cues to go off of on the Internet, so no, I guess not.

  • I commend you on your choice of music and equipment. That song is "Blue Bossa" written by Kenny Dorham, an American. I was unaware of the Portuguese lyrics. Who's singing? Astrud Gilberto?

I've got a set of Orions, myself, so I know what pure gold you've got on your hands. Congrats.

  • Ana Caram???

  • Damn, they play well.

  • Thank you so much for the video.
